HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2008 LCB Rolland Lawrence Only made 1 Pro Bowl and 1 All Pro team, which is a travesty IMO. Had 9 INT in 1975 and followed that up with 6, 7, 6, and 6 INT while playing on the 1977 Atlanta Falcons team that allowed only 9.2 PPG. Also has good enough size at 5'10" and 179 lbs. with enough ball hawk skills to get his share of picks should teams try to attack him. Career ended at 29 and probably would be more well known if he played into his mid 30's.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2008 It's now time for the first of my two potentially controversial offensive decisions. Bo Jackson You want versatile? There's versatile. Only man to ever be named an all-pro in two different sports. Racked up around 3000 yards in a horribly shortened but brilliant career. He's not going to be my primary weapon here, obviously, just like he wasn't in LA behind Marcus Allen, but I'm tailoring this offense to grind clock and opponents, rest my D, and run it, run it, and run it some more. RBBC with interesting and dissimilar all-pros from different eras in Dorsett, Cannon, and Bo. I'm picking him soleley based on that flash of a prime and the fact that he was the most amazing physical specimen in sports at the time. Unofficially once ran a sub 4.2 40. FUCK YOU!!!! I've been targetting him since round 1 and was gonna take him this round. Goddammit, I thought no one else would think of him. I had him lined up as my back to pair with Harris and my kick returner. And forget at the time, dude was probably the greatest straight up athlete/physical specimen I have EVER seen in pro sports.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2008 I thought of Bo Jackson, but then forget about him. Good pick. My next pick will be.... Nick Lowery. Write up later, gotta run. He was very accurate and stuff.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2008 Bobby Mitchell RB/WR/KR - 4x Pro Bowl - 2x All Pro (1x 1st team) Well I wanted Bo, but I found someone even more versatile. He was a pro bowler as a running back AND as a wide reciever AND was one of the premier return men of the 1960's. Him and Jim Brown were a lethal combination and since Brown was a natural FB (just like Franco Harris), I will use Mitchell in the same capacity on my team. Plus he will be my all-purpose return man and will play WR when I go to 4 WR sets or shotgun situations. And, my coach: Tony Dungy, Coach Write up later. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted August 14, 2008 Yeah I was going to take Bobby Mitchell next. Good pick.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2008 Tank Younger. He'll be my FB, but can play some linebacker as well. 4 Time Pro Bowler. First Team All-Pro.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2008 ROLB Bill Bergey 5 Pro Bowls and 2 All Pro Teams. Had 27 career interceptions playing between Cincinnati and Philadelphia. Has good size at 6'4" and 243 lbs. with the ability to drop back into coverage and rush the quarterback equally well. Played under Paul Brown and Dick Vermeil. Was instrumental in the defenses of 1972 (Bengals ranked 5th), 1977 (Eagles ranked 7th), and 1978 (Eagles ranked 5th). At age 35 he played on the 1980 Eagles D that ranked 1st (222 points allowed) which also featured a cornerback named Herman Edwards. A good defense should have players who know what it takes to play on top notch defenses and that's what I've done in grabbing Lawrence and now Bergey. Both players were key parts of defenses that ranked in the top of their league and that kind of leadership should be invaluable.
MFer 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2008 Time for the kicker. Matt Stover Pro Bowl selection (2000) All-Pro selection (2000, 2006) Super Bowl champion (XXXV) For a draft like this, I think accuracy is more ideal than having a big leg and Stover gives my team that. He's been vastly underrated throughout his career, is currently the NFL's 4th all-time leading scorer, and is currently 5th in all-time FG accuracy. That accuracy mark is even more impressive when you consider that: 1. He's been this accurate over a 17 season career. 2. He's attempted 519 FG's, tied for 5th most all-time. 3. He's played all his home games in an outdoor, cold weather stadium (Cleveland and Baltimore) Sure he won't boom too many 50+ yarders, but he's capable enough and he'll get the job done when it matters most. Since 1999, Stover has made at least 84% of his FG attempts in every season and 87.6% overall during that timespan. That's the type of consistency I value. Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted August 15, 2008 I'm going to take the idiot kicker who got liquored up and ran his mouth off. Mike Vanderjagt When considering that we take these players at their best, his best was perfect. Went the 2003 season 37 for 37 in field goals and 46 for 46 in PATs. Didn't miss in the postseason, either, 3/3 12/12. Although he will eternally be a punchline for those around Indy, the guy kicked well for championship teams in the CFL, too, so he's no choker. Guest Tzar Lysergic Report post Posted August 15, 2008 Dungy???! Wow. I mean, I can't argue that much since I've seen what he's done in Indy, and you're about as Colts homer as it gets and all, but even in that team's history..over Weeb Eubank?
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2008 Dungy was an excellent coach in Tampa as well and his defensive system is perfect for my guys. His cover 2 fits perfectly with most of my defensive players (even the old Steelers) and his 'let the offense run itself' philosophy works for an offense full of hall of famers/legends/all stars. I think he suits my team (hell, I took him as much for what he did in his short time in Tampa as what he did in Indy).
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2008 I've always though Weeb was overrated as a coach... 3 Championships and 1 SB Career 130-129-7 regular season record over 20 years. 4-1 in playoffs. He had 3 winning seasons out of 7 in the AFL and in his career, he only had 7 winning seasons (over .500). Tony Dungy 1 Championship and 1 SB Career 127-65-0 regular season record over 12 years (so far). 9-9 in playoffs. His lowest regular season record was 6-10 back in 1996. He also made it to the NFC Championship game in 1999 and AFC Championship game in 2003.
Smartly Pretty 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2008 Erich Barnes, CB 6x pro bowler 45 career interceptions in 1961, averaged 97.5 yards per interception return. Caught a touchdown pass once. I guess that sort of makes him like reverse troy borwn. I feel like I've got four of the most underrated defensive backs ever in my secondary.
Just John 0 Report post Posted August 15, 2008 Tra Thomas - LT 3x Pro Bowl 2x All Pro Eagles 75th Anniversary Team Another large man for my O-line. He was a big part of the Eagles' success during the first half of the decade, anchoring their line.

Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted August 16, 2008 Sorry, y'all. I'm here. HB/WR/KR Steve Van Buren * 7x All-Pro selection (1944, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1948, 1949, 1950) * 2x NFL champion (1948, 1949) * Eagles Honor Roll * NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team * NFL 1940s All-Decade Team * Philadelphia Eagles #15 retired I figure he'll make an excellent third weapon on offense, adding to the arsenal Favre would have at his disposal here, as well as being able to return kicks with Rod Woodson, and returning punts. At 6'2", 200 lbs., not bad size either.

Bored 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2008 To fill the fullback spot, he's not the best available but I wanted to go with someone who will fit the offense and he did very well in a Mike Holmgren offense. Fökai 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2008 Interchangeable tackles on both sides of the ball. Samuels and this man will alternate at LT and RT... Jordan Gross. He's got an All-Pro selection under his belt already, but I'm going more with his pass protection (hasn't allowed more than 3 sacks in a season) and his aforementioned versality. At 6'4" and 300 lbs., I'm going to need a banger to protect Manning from the d-ends being drafted.

Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2008 I couldn't get Morten Andersen so I'm going to take his clone. The two of them have had basically identical careers, and I actually thought that they were the same guy for awhile when I first started watching. K Gary Anderson * 4x Pro Bowl selection (1983, 1985, 1993, 1998) * 5x All-Pro selection (1983, 1984, 1985, 1993, 1998) * NFL 1990s All-Decade Team * NFL 1980s All-Decade Team * Once was the NFL's All-Time Points Leader I'm amazed at some of the kickers that have gone before him.
