The Buzz 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2007 http://videos.proelite.com/46768 Al Bundy on MMA , Really good I have similar views on MMA, although I do feel there are still plenty of good fighters out there that are more than one hit wonders, but I only watch the best ofs usually on Spike and random fights on youtube. I kind of liked the old stuff where you'd have the jiu jitsu vs muay thai. I'm not an expert on MMA, but if I did have to change one thing about it, it would be the standing up fighters off the ground. I think the guy on bottom should have to work his way back to his feet. Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2007 I don`t know if there`s a hell or not, but if there is, he`s probably there. On one hand, I`m surprised at the ridiculousness of the story, on the other, it makes complete sense given who was involved.

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2007 OR THE BEST. Though why is Djimon Hounsou the lead coach? Was James Earl Jones busy or something?
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2007 Oh, and I'd say this warrants a thread, given that the dude died... This is what happens when you mix coke, grand theft auto, and a chip on your shoulder. Edit: ... Oh, and full-blown psychosis.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2007 Djimon Hounsou popping out of nowhere in this shitfest was like when I saw Jon Voight in a trailer for Bratz Da Movie.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2007 To be fair, both have a tendency for picking up bit shit roles. Hounsou was in Deep Rising fer crissakes. Treat fucking Williams makes it through Deep Rising and Hounsou gets hacked with an axe early-on. This is what happens when you mix coke, grand theft auto, and low self-respect. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2007 Just finished watching the CNBC piece. It was a lot kinder to the UFC and Dana White than I thought it would be. And while I agree with Jim Lamplee (sp?) that boxing is not dead...however it is not close to where I used to be. I was never a big boxing fan, but I could still name off the champs and top contenders...I can probably only name a handful of who the top guys are now anymore

But everyone recognizes boxing's biggest problem, which is the heavyweight divison. It lacks that Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Larry Holmes, Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis etc. Wlad Klitschko isn't on any of those boxers level, nor will he ever be. Once boxing gets that special HW, it will be alright.

AboveAverage484 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 I'm arguing with someone about whether or not Chonan was winning his fight with Silva before the submission. I used to think Anderson was but after re watching I switched my opinion, so that makes me even more sure of Chonan winning before I re watch it again here in a couple minutes. What did you guys think?
Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2007 I had Chonan taking it. He was avoiding the big shots well and effectively countering everything along with mixing in leg kicks which helped weaken Anderson for the flying heel hook at the end. Mik 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2007 Rich Franklin vs. Travis Lutter is going to be the "co-main event" on the March card w/ Silva/Hendo. I mean, what can you really do with Rich at this point, while Silva is still the champ? He can never get another title match, so what the hell?
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2007 If Rich wins another 3 or 4 fights in a row against top guys and no one's beaten Silva yet then they'll have to give him another title shot.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2007 I don't think Rich would even take a third fight with Anderson. How many times does a dude want his nose broke? He's not retarded like Noguiera who STILL thinks - after getting two of the worst, prolonged, beatings in MMA history - that he could still take Fedor. Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2007 It also says on MMAjunkie that both J-Rock and War Machine both got $15,000 bonus, good for them they deserved it.
Mik 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2007 War Machine made like 50k between KO of the night, fight of the night, and his purse. He needs it for his legal bills. Here is the UFC 82 card, as of now. Dan Henderson vs. Anderson Silva (for the UFC Middleweight Title) Rich Franklin vs. Travis Lutter Jon Fitch vs. Akihiro Gono Josh Koscheck vs. Dustin Hazelett Evan Tanner vs. ??? Jorge Gurgel vs. John Halverson
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2007 Not a bad card, Koscheck/Hazelett will be a lot closer then people expect. Fitch should handle Gono quite easy, too bad Karo basically said he didn't want to fight Fitch because he's a tougher opponet. That would've been a fight I would like to see.
