I have similar views on MMA, although I do feel there are still plenty of good fighters out there that are more than one hit wonders, but I only watch the best ofs usually on Spike and random fights on youtube.

 

I kind of liked the old stuff where you'd have the jiu jitsu vs muay thai. I'm not an expert on MMA, but if I did have to change one thing about it, it would be the standing up fighters off the ground. I think the guy on bottom should have to work his way back to his feet.

Just finished watching the CNBC piece. It was a lot kinder to the UFC and Dana White than I thought it would be.

 

And while I agree with Jim Lamplee (sp?) that boxing is not dead...however it is not close to where I used to be. I was never a big boxing fan, but I could still name off the champs and top contenders...I can probably only name a handful of who the top guys are now anymore

Boxing will never die, atleast in our lifetime. But everyone recognizes boxing's biggest problem, which is the heavyweight divison. It lacks that Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Larry Holmes, Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis etc. Wlad Klitschko isn't on any of those boxers level, nor will he ever be. Once boxing gets that special HW, it will be alright.

I'm arguing with someone about whether or not Chonan was winning his fight with Silva before the submission. I used to think Anderson was but after re watching I switched my opinion, so that makes me even more sure of Chonan winning before I re watch it again here in a couple minutes. What did you guys think?

I had Chonan taking it. He was avoiding the big shots well and effectively countering everything along with mixing in leg kicks which helped weaken Anderson for the flying heel hook at the end.
