Andy's jaw used to be pretty weak until he had dental surgery in, I wanna say late '95. After that he was only KO'd three times the rest of his career compared to four times in his first year alone.

Andy may not have been as talented as Hoost or Aerts but what he lacked in skill, he more than made up for with his work rate and insane cardio. It's highly likely that he used steroids, but at that time it seemed like everyone was using them.

I'd still say roids are pretty heavily used in K-1. Just look at Jerome LeBanner. Guy is gigantic.

That's not even looking at guys like Bonjasky who aren't huge but are ripped.

It's Japan though. Goes with the territory.

I would say Overreem is the biggest explain... Look at his size growth over the years, I believe there was a timetable posted here before.

So anybody got any thoughts on the best under dog to bet on?

I'm leaning towards Stephens

Pellegrino's a massive front-runner, but Emerson just isn't good.

I agree. Even in Pellegrino's losses recently against Diaz and Stevenson he's look good. He beat the shit out of Diaz and just got caught in a submission, in the Stevenson fight he gave Stevenson all he could handle.

I can't see Emerson beating Pellegrino at all... Emerson has decent kickboxing, and its effective for MMA because he's made a career out of it so far, but Pellegrino has very good boxing, and his ground game is too much for Emerson. Unless Pellegrino gets caught with a flukey shot, he will win.

I doubt it'll be a lucky shot if it happens. Like I've said before, Pellegrino is the type of guy who can peter out when a fight starts turning on him, and being hard to finish, I can imagine Emerson frustrating him to the point where he gives up like he did against Fickett. However, Emerson is often more than willing to simply go with the flow of a fight, rarely taking the initiative and mostly reacting to what his opponent does, which almost assures Pellegrino will stay in the driver's seat for all 3 rounds.

Without GSP on the card I don't think there's as much of a danger of it selling out as quickly as last time.

Having said that, it will sell out quicker then most UFC shows and I know from personal experience that it's because of Fight Club that I was able to get tickets so take from that what you will.

I'd imagine that fight is different then BJ/GSP. BJ is a former WW champ so it makes sense for it to be at a set weight class and for a belt. Anderson/GSP is just for fucking kicks so why not make it a 180 catch weight or something similar. Even if it's at 185, I can't envision it being a title bout.

So if GSP does end up fighting Silva, who goes up/down in weight? I would wager on Silva going down because he has fought lower than 185 in the past while GSP has been strictly 170 his whole career.

That's a retarded argument... Especially considering Anderson has fought at 205 last year.

Matt Hughes wrestled at 155lbs in college, maybe he can cut down to lightweight!

Anderson is a much bigger guy then he was when he fought almost decade ago.

Shit, I don't know what they walk around at. Every time someone says such and such a fighter walks around at "X" weight it gets inflated by about 5 lbs since the last time. Last I checked Gomi walked around at heavyweight and Tito walked around at 250 (okay I inflated that). If the fight was predicated around fighting in a certain weight class, one would have to go up or one would have to go down, so Silva going down based on his prior experience at fighting at a lower weight isn't completely far fetched or retarded. I really hadn't considered the catch weight theory until Mik did, but it sounds like a good idea to me and would make this entire debate a moot point.

Congrats are in order though, EHME, you managed to make a refuting statement without using the words faggot or pussy, retarded is simply a step in the right direction for you!

I find it impossible to believe that Gomi walked around at heavyweight. Most of his career, even when he fought in Shooto or wrestled All Japan Combat Wrestling Championship he always weighed pretty low. Nowadays he's one of the bigger lightweights, but I have doubts he walks around heavier then say Sean Sherk or even Joe Stevenson and Clay Guida.

I felt bad for Bonnar. Jones had flaws, but I don't think Bonnar gameplanned to be suplexed (The Double Underhook suplex doesn't get enough love), have the guy throw fucking diving leg sweeps, or to be blasted in the head with a spinning back elbow.

Kinda takes you out of your element when your not sure what the fuck the guy's gonna do.
