DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 Thanks bob! Maria vs. Maryse sounds like a scary pairing. Hopefully Hardy vs. Kendrick got some time. I guess plans for the Undertaker appeasement match (where he would face the Scramble winner) got dropped too. For the best.

LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 Undertaker is acting real heel-ish. Seriously...what's the blow off to this? He murders Eddy Guererro's widow. The scary thing is, the angle kind of makes sense in a stupid wrestling way. I don't think anyone expected that a few years back.

Aero 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 Undertaker comes out and tells Vickie she is going to hell to meet her husband. The first time I read this, I was thinking that Taker was referring to Eddie... Randy Orton style.

Silence 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 On last week's SD, they didn't even reveal there was a twin, unless it was a backstage segment later on or something. The show report said her twin came out from under the ring, but the announcers thought it was just Brie coming back out.
Aero 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 Yes... So when it is actually revealed that there is a twin, it will likely be treated as a big surprise to the announcers and fans.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 WWE champ HHH is doing an interview backstage. Jeff Hardy comes into the scene but HHH cuts a hard promo on Jeff being on his second strike and having to pass a drug test to get into the Scramble match, saying Dr. Black is on the phone. Another Wellness reference by HHH! What a jerk. Why did they even call this Ryan Braddack character up if he's jobbing to SUPER CRAZY?
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 Super Crazy must be on the longest winning streak of his WWE career at two. Guess we'll have to wait until Friday to see if Hardy did indeed lay out HHH at the end of the show or not. As for Braddock, I have no idea if he can work (a squash against Big Show and a dufus battle royal are hardly decent barometers to judge), but he has a good enough look, is fairly big, and well . . . I just get a James Storm vibe every time I see him. Come to think of it, that probably works against him more than anything else.

Seriously...what's the blow off to this? * That in a "tragically ironic" not-so-much-of-a-twist Undertaker was finally able to defeat Edge hopefully, once and for all; but the effort has in some way changed him, and turned the Undertaker himself into the monster in need of being stopped. MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 Hmmmm, though I can remember the exact match orders of the first 12 WrestleManias by heart, I don't remember Crazy defeating Masters once, let alone three times.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 Some quick research shows he won back to back matches against Masters on September 4 and 11, 2006, and on the 25th Carlito and Super Crazy defeated Orton and Masters in a tag match. However, there was a 6 person IC title match on the 18th that he didn't win (but didn't lose), so the streak may be in question!
DarKnight 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 Undertaker comes out and tells Vickie she is going to hell to meet her husband. This line is not going to go over well with the crowd. I mean, I know he's referring to Edge, but the crowd will definitely take it the wrong way. I actually want Vickie to get written off of TV because her character has no purpose anymore. The Edge/Vickie storyline thats been going on since late last year was lucky to even be good, and after he is supposedly sent to Hell, or whatever, why would Vickie still be the GM? The storyline's over. WWE champ HHH is doing an interview backstage. Jeff Hardy comes into the scene but HHH cuts a hard promo on Jeff being on his second strike and having to pass a drug test to get into the Scramble match, saying Dr. Black is on the phone. Keep in mind when reading that quote, that HHH is supposed to be the top babyface of Smackdown. You know, with WWE constantly having guys cut promos on Jeff screwing up, they kind of have to put the world title on him, otherwise it will look like he's being buried. Ian_Austin 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 Eh, the thing with Jeff is that he's an underdog. Near permanently - losing doesn't change that. In fact, it makes him more popular. So he doesn't need the title to be over. Whereas Booker T... that storyline demanded he win the title, and he lose heat when he didn't. Here, so long as Jeff keeps healthy he should stay as an Upper Carder. I doubt he'll be champ, but a 2005 style Jericho role is a possibility.

Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 An even more detailed set of spoilers: Smackdown HHH cuts scramble promo. Shelton comes out on the stage to say that he'll win because he's the gold standard, etc. MVP out next to say he'll win because he's most valuable, etc. MVP and Shelton argue at ringside until HHH interrupts to point out that this is the 'go home' show before the PPV. HHH is supposed to come out and talk which is known as a 'promo.' Then they are supposed to come out and interrupt him and then they have a match which he wins before beating them at the PPV, after which they go backstage and aren't seen again until Wrestlemania. He's not sure why they don't know this since they do it every time. While he's talking, The Brian Kendrick and Ezekiel run through the crowd to sneak attack HHH. Everyone piles on until Jeff Hardy runs out for the save. HHH eventually grabs a chair and clears out all the heels. Once it goes to commercial and everyone leaves, HHH holds up his title and says he's dedicating it to "The Killer." R-Truth appears in the crowd to rap what I guess is his new entrance theme 'What's Up' before Chavo's music hits. He and Bam Neely enter and Neely is announced as R-Truth's opponent. R-Truth does all sorts of twisty, flippy things eventually pinning Neely. The Undertaker comes out to cut promo on Vickie. He says he's going to put her in a coffin at the PPV. Then he's going to set it on fire. Then he's going to send her to HADES so that she can be with her husband EDDDD…GE. And then he leaves. Shelton def MVP in a pretty slow, grounded match. Maryse and Maria clash backstage and no one cared. Maryse says all of her clothes come from Paris and Maria's look like crap. Maria says she makes all of her own clothes because she's good enough, or something. Anyway, they have a match NEXT! Maryse def Maria. SILENCE. I'm pretty sure a couple people yelled out that Maria is hot but it was dead otherwise. The Brian Kendrick def Jeff Hardy after Ezekiel attacked Hardy outside the ring. Ryan Braddock beat quickly by SuperCrazy. Then Koslov came out and attacked SuperCrazy and demanded some real competition which attracks the Big Show. Big Show gets on the mic and goes off about how Vickie keeps overlooking him, but he is up for a fight. The two start to square off but Vickie comes out and demands that they leave. They go and she gets massive boos. She gets in the ring and starts to cut a promo. The boos were so loud that I couldn't make out a word she said during her entire 8 minute promo except 'apologize' and 'won't.' Beyond that, it was the loudest booing I've ever heard and there's no way TV can do it justice. Victoria made her way to the ring and a video package showed Brie Bella crawling under the ring last week and coming back out with full energy. Bella came out and towards the end of the match, pulled the same swap gimmick with her twin to win again. Funny note, after Vickie left they lowered the lights and showed a promo video for WWE's Tribute to the Troops (which seemed pretty random). As it played, a procession of about 12 security/ring crew guys walked out from stage left, circled the ring, and left again in the darkness. This must've been when Brie's twin got under the ring since they did absolutely nothing else but walk around the ring once. HHH is backstage with the interview lady. She asks about the PPV scramble match and his lumberjack match with Khali and wraps up her question by asking what his greatest concern is. He replies: "Well, I think my greatest concern is global warming and then maybe the economy in general." He then begins to talk about the matches when Jeff Hardy walks in. HHH starts making jokes about Jeff having 2 strikes already and one more fuck-up will force him to leave the WWE. HHH leaves but pops back in to make a fake phone call noise, talk into his hand like it's a phone and say that's it is Dr. Black calling for Jeff. All the scramble guys came ringside to be lumberjacks. Khali and HHH came out and had a terrible match, as expected. HHH got tossed out and the heels attacked, but Hardy stood by and let him get beat up. Later, HHH went for a pin and the heels pulled him out to beat on him. Hardy ran into the ring to plancha everyone on the outside and make the save. HHH got back in the ring and managed to get a terrible pedigree on Khali for the win. Hardy made his way in to hit the Twist of Fate on HHH and leave. HHH then got on the mic while still lying on the mat and said he understood Hardy and even though Hardy took all the "wacky pills", Hunter would've waited to sneak attack after the match too. HHH got to his feet and added that Hardy was a coward just like Shelton Benjamin. Shelton hit the ring and got a pedigree. "Anyone else?" he asked? MVP ran to the ring and got a pedigree. HHH then called out to The Brian Kendrick who teased going to the ring, but then headed backstage again. HHH called him a coward and Kendrick ran to the ring to get a pedigree. HHH called out to Ezekiel, asking him if he wanted some too. Ezekiel took off his shirt and HHH said: "You look a lot bigger without that shirt on. But that's OK. C'mon down to the ring anyway." Ezekiel started to, but then changed his mind and went backstage. Shelton started to get to his feel and got another pedigree. Then HHH finally left. Hawk 34 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 He's spent half of his career as a heel. It's not as if WWE is afraid to turn him but in this case, he has to be the avenging destroyer of all those who worked to abolish him. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2008 Undertaker won't turn heel because WWE creative are too much of pussies to do it! This didn't warrant an exclamation point. He was heel in 98-99, at the peak of the WWE. So no, creative is not too much of pussies to do it. The thing with Taker is that fans love the guy, that they just wouldn't want too boo him. They'd have to expand so much effort on turning him heel that it wouldn't be worth it in the end. It's not that their pussies, they're just not stupid. Plus, he's feuding with Vickie Guerrero, the most hated person in WWE.
Cherry Blossom Viscount 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2008 Storyline wise it makes sense that Vickie is written out of her role as GM and dissapears for awhile, but the WWE just cannot ignore all of that massive heel heat. Many people here are tired of Vickie so after awhile I do expect this legitimate heat to be deemed "X-Pac" heat, but like X-Pac, Vickie was just written into a storyline where the fans viewed her as so despicable she'll never draw anything but boos no matter what she does. They should transfer her over to RAW and make her the manager of Team Priceless so that they might leech off of her heat and won't have to try to garner any on their own by beating down legitimately over teams killing their heat as well.
