I took it to be a mid card guy who became a legitimate main eventer. The Hardy Boyz were a top tag team, but Jeff was likely going to headline WrestleMania if he didn't screw thigs up. If it's more somebody who came out of nowhere to become a star, I guess Matt Bourne is as good a candidate as any. R-Truth, The Brian Kendrick would be other contenders, maybe with Jack Swagger (who probably needs to get off ECW). Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Jeff & Matt are far past the rookie stage, dude. I'm sorry, my point was that breakthrough star could mean one of two things. Most improved or Roty. I gave Batista as an example for most improved for 2005 when he became champ and beat HHH 3 times. I gave Edge for the 98/99 for Roty. I dont see Jeff Hardy as being this big breakthrough. I think CM Punk is the one who deserves it. The reason why I dont see Hardy as it is because he has been pushed before numerous times and has always been an upper mid carder. Moment of the year - Chris Jericho punching Shawn Michaels's wife Tag Team of the year - Miz and Morrison Best Musical Performance - Who cares Best Finishing Maneuver - If it counts, the Punt Kick, if not, the RKO Extreme Moment of the Year - Gulf Bay match Couple of the year - Edge and Vickie Guerrero (logical choice) There will also be a number of Slammy Awards given exclusively on WWE.com. Thanks for the Fish 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2008 A couple more nominee lists were released - WWE Diva of the Year Nominees: Mickie James, Beth Phoenix, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly Match of the Year Nominees: 2008 Royal Rumble Match, Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 24, Money in the Bank Ladder Match at WrestleMania 24, Undertaker vs. Edge Hell in a Cell Match at SummerSlam I think HBK vs Flair should be a shoo-in from the list of nominees, however with Flair out of the company it could be up-for-grabs. Beth should win as well, but I could see Mickie as the Wwe seems to want to push her. I'd love to see McCool win so everybody could claim Undertaker forced it. The only OMG Moment nominee that I don't think has a chance is Edge/Undertaker. It takes a LOT to get me so into a wrestling event on TV that I stand up and cheer for someone. Damn, I loved this moment. It's going to take a lot for WWE to top this. Probably the last time I actually stood up and cheered a victory was Benoit making Triple H tap out at Wrestlemania XX.
