CanadianGuitarist Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 But Price has done nothing that makes him better than any other average NHL goalie. Staring down Patrick Kane in the best hockey game ever comes to mind. Sadly, it's all been downhill since. He's been pretty good in the regular seasons so far, but wide-eyed in the playoffs, and the same since the All-Star Game.
the max Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 I'm sure there are other goalies who can have staring contests and still play well at the professional level.
Red Baron Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 Hey, if Montreal didn't give up 40+ shots every game, their goaltending might be better. But then the goals he let in....makes Andre Racicot look like a Vezina trophy candidate
bob_barron Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 Tonight I learned why Sens fans hated Gerber. But that Canucks v. Sharks game was awesome. Luongo is back!
Zetterberg is God Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 Another embarrassing Saturday night for the Wings. I love Ozzie and all but enough is enough.
Urban Warfare Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 Christ, it's time to put Alexander Semin among the top 5 in the league in terms of natural talent and ability. What a goal. Great sequence by Backstrom as well.
garfieldsnose Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 Geez, this MTL/DAL game has no business being tied. Dallas just basically gave Montreal all the momentum by not capitalizing on all those power play opportunities. How they don't score at least three, even four goals, is really terrible.
Red Baron Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 I believe it was Dallas lack of power play strength that cost them the game.
CanadianGuitarist Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 I believe it was Dallas lack of power play strength that cost them the game. One for ten. You're right.
Red Baron Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 And after watching the highlights, Carey played liked the all-star that he once was.
AntiLeaf33 Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 Carbo fired in Montreal Wonder if this will pave the way for Patrick Roy to take over the team next year?
Red Baron Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 Carbo fired in Montreal Wonder if this will pave the way for Patrick Roy to take over the team next year? It was only a matter of time. The team lost faith in Carbo since Christmas and this was expected. Montreal poor play defensively cost him his job.
TheSSNintendo Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 I went to the Caps/Penguins game on Sunday. Was a very fun game, even though the Caps lost. The Penguins fans all act like they pulled off something impressive, even though the Caps are 3-0-1 against them this year. It took the gimmicked shoot out for the Caps to lose.
Zetterberg is God Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Wings stole a point tonight IMO. Had Conks not let in some questionable goals that would've been a regulation W.
bob_barron Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 I'm going to Devils v. Hawks on Tuesday. I'm either gonna see Marty go for the tie or win
CanadianGuitarist Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Hey, I just found an Eastern playoff spot for sale on Ebay. Evidently, no one wants it!
Zetterberg is God Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 3 goals in 46 seconds is a good sign you're going to win. Nice rebound from that debacle on Thursday.
bob_barron Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 I'm so pumped for Tuesday. Anyone know where you can torrent hockey games? NHL Centre Ice fucked up and didn't record Canucks v. Kings or Leafs v. Flames
CanadianGuitarist Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 The Devils beat the Habs for the 550th straight meeting. Martin Brodeur tied some record in doing so.
garfieldsnose Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 A 5 minute penalty on Coburn for a high stick? Stupid. I hate to blame refs, but this is getting pretty ridiculous. We've taken too many penalties, but Antropov dropped like he'd been shot after a shove. Much like Dubinsky yesterday after the Richards hit. So fucking retarded.
Matt Young Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 That was a really great game last night between the Kings and the Sharks. The Kings looked amazing defensively, and Ersberg was brilliant in goal- easily the best he's performed in months (since his injury) and perhaps the best he's ever played. While the end result was slightly disappointing, 1 point against the Sharks was more than I had expected.
Zetterberg is God Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 Great game from the Wings today and Osgood had another excellent performance.
Nightwing Posted March 15, 2009 Report Posted March 15, 2009 Their D was solid today. They were back-checking well and the defense wasn't giving up the blue line like they were in that Calgary comeback. Ericsson is definitely a stud in the making.
Zetterberg is God Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 I just hope these last two games are a sign that the D/goaltending are coming around.
CanadianGuitarist Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 Bob, did you see the Avs-Canucks? What kind of a game was it? I stopped at bar for a quick one after work, and Sportscentre listed the shots through forty as five for Colorado, nine for Vancouver. After two periods? The hell?
bob_barron Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 Yes, I watched the game. The shots were 9-5 after one. The Nucks scored three early goals (including an insane play by Burrows) and just sat back for the next 40 minutes. When the Avs scored early in the third, they played playing not to lose hockey. Edler got the dagger goal with 1:13 left, which was great, since now Ohlund is the all time leading defenseman scorer in Canucks history.
Nightwing Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 Brodeur is cutting the net off his record-breaking goal. Actually pretty cool, even though I'm not a fan of the guy.
CanadianGuitarist Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 Ughhhh. I'm flirting with a big Pro Line payday, but the Rangers take the lead. 3-2 with five to play. No money and a thorn in the side of the Habs playoff chances? Yikes.
CanadianGuitarist Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 Tie fucking game! I don't wanna spend 100 bucks on brake pads for a car that's only worth, like, 1000 tops. Pro Line should pay for them if anything.
