If a team called themselves the Freemasons and then had a mascot with a skullcap and a huge nose, do you think that would go over well? I don't.
-
I don't think the name changes have to happen, but some of the mascots are pretty offensive caricatures that make Tatanka look like an accurate, tasteful representation of native americans.

Am I the only person in the world who doesn't give a shit about any of this steroid stuff?

The Big 10 is pretty wide open: Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State, and Purdue are all legitimate contenders to win the conference, the first three in particular and each of them is a Rose Bowl threat.

I am 100% in support of this. Fuck the ESPN hegemony.

Transformers: The Live Action Movie
Hogan Made Wrestling replied to Ced's topic in Television & Film
At least he's not an iPod. -
The Bossman was the king of "so bad it's good" comedy in 1999. I'm not sure which I enjoyed more: the whole Bossman-Big Show feud, or Bossman feeding Pepper to Al Snow.

I guess ESPN figured they weren't quite at blowhard critical mass and could afford to get that much closer. I'm already getting annoyed by the promos for this show. "Quite frankly, that's all you need" is at about 0.6 Everest at this point, and rising.

That is just such sappy nonsense. Pro sports is a business, not some character-building experience. NFL owners have shown absolutely no hesitation to dump players when it suits them financially. Rosenhaus just tries to serve them a bit of their own medicine.

The Situation with Tucker Carlson
Hogan Made Wrestling replied to Hogan Made Wrestling's topic in Current Events
I like "The Abrams Report". Rather than having a PTI-style shouting match between all his guests he lets each of them speak and will ask all of them some tough questions. It's one of the few watchable poli-talk shows right now. -
OK, so I'm watching Tucker's new show on MSNBC (don't know how many of you have been following this) and I'm asking myself the following: 1. Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to make a political version of PTI? The entire format is the same, including endless shouting, scrolling topics bar on the side, and some retarded version of "Stat Boy" for the show wrapup at the end. 2. Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to make MAX KELLERMAN a permanent fixture on a political talk show? Although I'm amazed he can go 10 minutes without talking about boxing or the Yankees once. 3. I really hope this chick from Air America doesn't end up being Tucker's regular "liberal guest" for the main segment. He had himself as the conservative, the very good Dan Abrams as a centrist guest, and the other person whose name I forgot that was just obnoxious as the liberal. Maybe this is Tucker's way of getting "revenge" for being used as a conservative punching bag on Crossfire? I might watch this again, but if I ever see Wilbon or Kornheiser I'm done.

I'm more wary of the fact that he worked with Kenneth Starr than any of this Roe v. Wade stuff myself.

Looks like the NHL lockout is finally over
Hogan Made Wrestling replied to Fartsauce's topic in Sports
If anything the numbers totally contradict your argument. In terms of both raw points and particularly points per ice time, Daniel is most definitely an effective 2nd line scorer, while Henrik is to a lesser extent. How many left wings in the NHL outscored Daniel Sedin last year? Answer: not very many. And even less did it with the sort of ice time he gets. He scored almost as many points as Rick Nash who gets worshipped despite producing under 60 points with massive ice time. -
I typically wear polyester tops (usually Polartec and similar fabrics), synthetic trail shorts, and merino wool socks. I tend not to ever buy cotton clothes anymore since their performance is simply inferior to synthetics and wool. Most of my clothes are from brands like North Face, REI, Patagonia, and so on. One piece of clothing I wear a lot is a North Face soft shell jacket which performs spectacularly in a wide variety of conditions. I tend to shop for clothes on Ebay (where high performance brand names come at cheap prices) and at thrift stores (where somehow I always find good stuff that I can't understand how anyone would toss away). Today I noticed that my socks cost more than the rest of the outfit I was wearing, which was somewhat amusing.

Spectral General needs to do the soundtrack again. -
I think if the 2nd and 3rd picks were switched people would be talking about Anthony being a bust right now, because there's no way a no-defense,one-on-one slash-and-score basketball player would be getting playing time from Larry Brown.

I thought "I, Max" was the worst of all those sorts of shows.

The "terrorists" should have come out with boxcutters. You see if they do that, then Vince's "there are no knives" policy is still intact because "it's not a knife, it's a boxcutter".

Pink Floyd's performance was one of the greatest of all-time.

MTV outdoes themselves once again, doing the impossible by broadcasting a CONCERT where they show less musical performances than backstage interviews with bands and celebrities, and other pointless non-music segments.

So what does that make Scott Boras?

I know this won't go over well since Bret seems to be worshipped around here, but I would say that yeah, Matt Hardy got it worse off than Bret Hart. Matt Hardy got fired because his longtime girlfriend cheated on him with one of his fellow coworkers, and he spoke out against it. He's currently sitting unemployed waiting either for his no-compete clause to expire or for WWE to offer him his job back. Bret Hart got "screwed" because of his unreasonable request not to drop the title in his "hometown" Canada. He had a multimillion dollar guaranteed deal with WCW waiting for him the moment he left the WWF.

This is really starting to sound like a work...

I for one think it was awesome. Sports has become so bogged down with cliched interviews and comments that it's nice to hear someone shoot from the hip and say how they really feel. JR should cut a 20 minute promo before each Flyers game whee he rips on the fans and the other team and calls himself "The Game" and "the best in this business".
