i know i have this on CD somewhere, it's awesome but really bad quality. I'll try to dig it up. Thank you sir, as long as it's not choppy (like what happens with some of WWE's online 24/7 stuff, yuck), I can deal with it.

Cro Cop has beaten way better fighters than Kongo. I don't think Mirko would have any trouble with him, especially after Kongo stunk the joint up last time out.

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread
AboveAverage484 replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
Oh, THAT fight. Shit, I was thinking about Gono vs. Nilson de Castro for some reason -
But he's never finished that triangle in his career. Even so, his knee surgey played a big factor in him not being able to finish it off, but it's still a submission victory either way, so it's irrelevent. You need to really stop hating on Anderson, or else next time we have an AV bet, you'll be rocking the Richard Simmions AV for much longer. Hey, Anderson is still there to be taken on the ground, but as long as the only person at MW with the intelligence to realize this is a dehydrated Travis Lutter, then I'm not making another bet on it. But... but... Anderson is a BLACK belt under the Nog brothers isn't he? His ground game is legit!!!! [/sherdog]

Tell that to the morons on other boards, who are convinced that Pride is in great shape, and that getting a Korean TV deal is just as good as getting a Japanese one.
-
I thought it was because Anderson Silva had subpar takedown defense. It's pretty funny seeing all these rubes on other boards freaking out because Silva got taken down and mounted like it was some huge surprise or something. Thankfully, people here are a little more sensible.
-
Yeah, I remember that. I thought he was gonna lose a nut or something.

Silva pulls the sub skills out of mothballs on the Cereal Killer.

Eddie Sanchez did a good job of not getting his ass totally whooped. I think Mirko did a good job coming off as a stone-cold killer in his debut. Short sentences, straight and to the point. I think the fans now know that he doesn't fuck around.
-
He hit him in the shoulder; Halverston deserved to get an ass whooping for being a little puss boy.

Anybody got Steiners vs. Nasty Boys from Halloween Havoc 1990?

Vote on all the matchups; if you haven't seen a match I'd suggest looking for it in the "old school match" thread located on the general wrestling page a few threads down, almost all of the matches have been posted on there. Of course in order to make the field an even 32, some choices had to be cut but I don't think there were any earth-shaking decisions. As it is, one of these 32 matches will be TSM's favorite WWF match of the nineties, so thanks to all who nominated and happy voting. Yeah but going in to the match nobody predicted Heath would get taken down like he did. I mean he has a background in wrestling so I don't think it's completely out of the question that most people thought Heath should have been able to dictate the fight.
-
I'm willing to give Heath the benefit of the doubt for that fight, but if he loses again I say he's done with the UFC.

Yeah, they just purged the site of every user that's been inactive for more than a month; that way they can make room for some new users in the near future.

PRIDE 33- The Second Coming

Well, to Alistair's credit he did enter his last two fights with existing injuries, and fairly significant ones at that. -
PRIDE 33- The Second Coming
AboveAverage484 replied to Lord of The Curry's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
That fight was closer than people like to remember, at least until Overeem gassed. From what I've heard, this is all but confirmed, but who the hell knows with Pride. -
UNC whooped up on Arizona today. They're probably going to breeze through the rest of their schedule with the ACC in what appears to be a down year; I think the Tech loss was just a bad day for them. On a sidenote that game was probably one of the worst officiated games I've seen in some time, on both sides.

He had it coming for punking him out at the weigh-ins.

WON News + Notes, January 29th Issue
AboveAverage484 replied to The Decemberists's topic in TNA Wrestling
Sorry I'm out of the loop but what was special about it? Was it pretty vicious? If anybody can give me a vid link, that would be cool. Thanks -
No, I really don't. Yeah, same here. Considering that last week we lost back to back games by 1 point, and the 2nd one was to NJ after Cliff Robinson went over the back for a tip in layup. Fuck the Nets. Woah, Cliff Robinson is still playing? That's awesome

Just to be a bastard: Peter Aerts high kicks > than anyone's!

Well, so much for that. Rashad just killed him dead with a right high. I was just about to post something about Rashad's standup being underrated too, LOL
