I think the theory right now is not that he chickened out (he's been in the ring with Hoost twice already, not to mention Le Banner, Sefo, Fujita, etc.), but that he went to Holland expecting to be paid X amount of dollars but was instead going to be paid Y. I think true hardcore had came and gone before Biohazard even formed, and Husker Du was more influential towards the alternative movement than the hardcore style that they abandoned fairly early in their career. But yeah, you're right, as far as the current interpretation of hardcore is concerned, Biohazard is pretty influential.
