  1. Hogan/Warrior was the 1st time that the new generation of fans got to see a superhero work his way up to #1 Challenger. By the time much of the fans who are in their lower-mid 20s now started watching, Hulkamania was already running wild. Now, they had a fresh, different, & younger idol to cheer for. Plus, I don't think Hogan ever had a match vs. a face in the Hulkamania era until then. Each guy got aggressive w/o acting heelish. Each man showed vulnerability to his opponent as the power of the "Little Warriors" was too much for Hogan to handle at times. Whereas, the support of "The Hulkamaniacs" almost proved to be fatal for UW. It was the ultimate 20-30min staged exhibition of drama that had a satisfying climax and sent most everyone home happy. Couldn't have booked it better.
  2. Indians --- Larry Dolan - Notorious penny pincher who purged damn near every link to their glory days in the late 1990s. Not very popular. Browns --- Randy Learner (MBNA) - Inherited when his father passed away in 2002. Not much football knowledge but means well and seems to be willing to pay any price for a winner which is proven by buying out Butch Davis's contract and bringing in Phil Savage to run the Browns along w/ Romeo Crenell to coach the squad. Cavs --- USHER and friends - I'm blankin on the name of the guy who headed up the organization that bought the Cavs from Gordon Gund but Usher is a minority owner (pardon the pun) of the team. Kinda hard to get a read on them after a few days of owning the club.
  3. Would have bet a buck or two it was Hurricane after his role on Raw this past Monday. Not that he's unfamiliar to that treatment but it has been a while since HHH pedigreed him on the ramp for no reason other than to further bury his gimmick from 2,000 feet underground to 2,200 feet underground. Off-topic: Did anyone else feel sorry for Helms when his music hit and there was dead silence?
  4. IIRC, severe internal injuries.
  5. The Spring Training scenes along w/ Opening Day from Major League I.
  6. Yeah, it was actually his interference that won Jericho the TV Title from Stevie Ray and also in a rematch on Saturday Night, IIRC.
  7. Whenever I picture a Bushwhacker being serious, I automatically think of the WMVII Instant Replay Debate "I just don't know cousin Luke, what do you see?" "Oh boy Cousin Butch, I just can't tell!"
  8. He also lost a Brahma Bull Match to . . . . . Al Snow.
  9. Glad they didnt edit the vince thing, but why taker? I hate when they edit out blown spots, hey it happened let it be I'm guessing deep down, Vince and staff know there is entertainment value in seeing him injure himself and that if it was edited out, it could cause a few people out there to not buy the dvd. Plus, it would look really dumb to show Vincy just sitting there for no reason. As for Taker (Didn't actually see the casket match), it was probably WWE's intention to improve the presentation of the match by editing out the blown spots.
  10. I don't think Seinfeld ever dove into a serious episode.
  11. Good thing Jericho was currently in your avatar, CC.
  12. "The Juice's action is NON STOP ACTION!!!" --- Juventud Guerrera
  13. What was wrong w/ it?
  14. Ouch . . . well, at least it's not in the thousands.
  15. Yeah, I would NOT advise anyone to sell bootlegs on ebay . . . I guess they have a staff of 4-7 people who hunt auction sites for bootleggers all day. How much is the settlement?
  16. "Everybody goes down for the 3 Count!" --- 3 Count "And that's just the way it is!" --- Chris Benoit in 2000ish
  17. I forgot about that one . . . that may be the best exchange on the tape. Another dandy . . . Savage: I'm walkin in the Intercontinental Champion, and I'm walkin out the IC Champion. Monsoon: The title's not on the line. Savage: I know it but it's a psychological thing, don't you agree? Adonis: (Not really paying attention) I agree too.
  18. (Phone rings) Elizabeth: Hello . . . you want Randy to come to Japan and wrestle two of the finest Japanese wrestlers for $500,000. Randy: HANG UP THE PHONE!!! (Liz hangs up) Randy: They can come to my backyard and I'll beat them up for FREE! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Randy: Macho Madness is more seductive than sex! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Newlywed woman is caught swimming in Randy's pool totally enamored w/ him) Randy: This is a typical like situation Gene. Hey lady, I know how you're feelin but you're gonna hafta get out! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not to mention there's also a great Savage/Santana MSG series of matches on the tape which were tragically clipped. For as much as Boston were behind Savage, NYC were practically begging Santana to decapitate Savage at center ring.
  19. The Giant hulking up on Hogan at Hog Wild 1996 is still surreal to me to this day . . . even though Hogan was heel by then.
  20. Sid during WCW's death days . . . "Mama says it beees that way sometimes!"
  21. Can't blame the guy for being a little distracted.
  22. Plus, they could've EASILY blown off the Goldberg/Jericho feud w/ a 5min World Title squash of Jericho on that card since Goldberg didn't even have a match and CJ was stuck in a meaningless match against Bobby Duncum Jr.
  23. Of all the promos, the only time I laughed was Flair kissing HHH's ass on the Bravehhheart spoof. It was just like real life . . . Raw that is, not Braveheart . . . "You've never looked finer champ. Woooooo!!!"
  24. There's an intense Steamboat/Savage IC Title Match (pre-WMIII feud) from Toronto on Best of WWF Volume 9 that features a juicy Randy Savage bladejob. Awesome match that w/ a clean finish could be argued to be better than the WMIII match.
