  1. You and Tom had the misfortune of trying to follow Strangler and Erek. The crowd didn't have any energy to boo you.
  2. SWF Tuesday Night Frost and HOLT report December 16, 2003 Columbus, Ohio at Nationwide Arena Report by David Wills of Cleveland, OH, Smartmarks.com reader Frost: - Mike Van Siclen beat Xcalibur in 6:00 with the Cardinal Sin Clutch. - Ben Hardy conducted a backstage interview with Terrance Bailey. Terrance talked about how much it meant to him to regain the Hardcore Title, and how much it meant to finally defeat Wildchild, a guy whom he has had so much trouble with in the past. Hardy asked him how preparing for Va’aiga is different from preparing for Wildchild, and Terrance made a strange joke about Ben not knowing the difference between a swordfish and a shark, and said that Ben didn’t have enough sense to think his way out of a broom closet. He said that with Va’aiga he wasn’t going to bother with any of the finesse he used against Wildchild, and said that he would paint Columbus red with Maori blood. When asked whether or not we could see a return to the Hell Machine, Janus simply smiled and walked away. - Bemani Cross Wizards beat Michael “Spike” Spaster and Fugue in 9:50 when Ced pinned Fugue after the DDR Revolution. - Kevin Cole did a backstage interview with Ejiro Fasaki. Rule proclaimed that The Fight Before Christmas would be his finest hour, and that at the end of the night, the Ejiro Era will be ushered into the SWF. He claimed that winning the World Championship was his destiny, and declared that Flesher’s reign as champion was over. - Jamie “Jay Dawg” Drazon beat CIA in 16:44 with JD’s Avenge. - They did another video package, covering the whole PPV to close Frost. The Fight Before Christmas: - Cleveland native Tracy Chapman sang “America the Beautiful.” - Before the Hardcore Title match, Funyon directed everyone’s attention to a luxury box and recognized SWF Legends Lerrin Bregan and the Suicide King. They stood up to receive a standing ovation, but were instead met by a chorus of boos and a rousing chant of “King Sucks!” King looked visibly pissed, and gave the crowd the finger before walking away from the window. - Mak was in a real bad way after Thugg threw him off the stage; they couldn’t get the ambulance over to that part of the stage, and they couldn’t get the stretcher back onto the ramp. Eventually, they figured a way to elevate Mak back onto the stage through the use of cables and pulleys hanging from the rafters. This delayed the show by over fifteen minutes. - I got my sign on camera during the ICTV match. W00t! - A “WE WANT STRANGLER” chant started up after Strangler went backstage, and we were so loud with it that they basically couldn’t continue the show. We kept it up until Strangler came back out for an encore. He walked back down to the ring and took the microphone from Funyon. He thanked all of us for coming out to watch his final match. He told us that it was a privilege to perform for us for all these years, and that he wanted to thank each of us, from the bottom of his heart, for all the love that we showed him. This led us to start up a “WE LOVE STRANGLER” chant, and we gave him a standing ovation that went on for a good five minutes after he finally went backstage. - There was an unscheduled match to try and get the crowd calmed back down before the main event. Renegade beat Xero in 3:45 with the Renebreak. Best Pops. 1) The Boston Strangler (by FAR) … Distant second … 2) Danny Williams 3) Mak Francis 4) Dace Night 5) Terrance Bailey Most Heat 1) The HVille Thugg 2) Erek Taylor 3) Ejiro Fasaki 4) The Suicide King 5) Va'aiga
  3. Thank you.
  4. What do you mean by "approached?" I met Molly at an autograph session, and asked her out. She politely turned me down... EDIT - Oh, wait. You mean has Playboy approached her?
  5. Rant, would you be so kind as to post the link to the original article? I'd like to refer to it on another site.
  6. So, Alan Clark = Copper? Are you two the "best of friends?" Or, are you Chief? Does that mean you're going to fall off a bridge trying to get to Todd?
  7. Yeah, that's right. WAIT A MINUTE. I said "just about;" DAMN!
  8. I don't know if that'd be a viable solution, Thugg; if there were a bunch of newbs in the WF having to go up against the likes of Duran, Janus and Matthews (and yes, me), they would likely get discouraged by all the losing. I benefitted greatly from writing against my peers for a few months before being bumped; I don't believe I would have stuck around if I would have had to face Danny Williams and Mak within my first four months.
  9. What makes it worse, Thugg, is the fact that, with exception of me and Johnny (if he's still even here), just about all of the LHW's in the fed are in the upper midcard/ME. And, once again, I apologize for making such an ugly public issue of this. - Dub Cee PS - I'd consider it an honor to job to you, Thugg... as long as you no-sell the FSP.
  10. Let me rewind a bit; I don't mind the multi-man's quite so much as I made out before. A lot of my better-written matches (or, at least, some of my personal favorites) were multi-man matches. It's when the gimmicks come into play when I start to disconnect. My biggest problem with outrageous stips is that they predominantly tend to be matches where you can't win by pinfall, and since I wouldn't actually watch a match like that, I find it difficult to motivate myself to write one. I've never thought of myself as a "diva" or someone who tries to dictate what matches they be booked in; the only two things I can remember specifically asking CC is not to be booked on a show if the deadline is before 10pm EST, because of the significant time-zone difference, and not to be booked in title matches on Storm, since the card is posted on Monday and the show is posted on Friday, and my schedule doesn't often permit me to write between Mondays and Fridays. If CC feels the inclination to put me in a stip match, would it be a reasonable request to ask that it be one-on-one? As far as that other stuff, I did, in fact, just finish up with a pretty long-running angle; maybe you heard about it... I think I may be starting to feel the burn, though, for a couple of reasons: 1) After more or less completing a major angle (and the opus of my career to this point), I'm a little low on ideas. I had some plans fleshed out, but they are a little dependant on someone who seems to have suddenly disappeared without notice. And I can't think of a good money fued to set up, mainly because... 2) There's not enough cruisers. After almost a year in the WF, I'm hossed out; one thing I really enjoyed about the JL was the chance to write against characters that enabled me to use WC to his fullest potential, but so far in the WF, I've had to tone it down severely, since I can't even use my full moveset against a lot of the guys I face; I've only had the opportunity to write against three or four guys in my weight class since getting bumped. The main reason that I've spent so much time pushing for the LHW belt to be re-instated is because I'm sick and tired of writing against hosses. Some people started railing against me for holding on to the Hardcore belt for too long (I won't name any names, but one of them starts with a "D" and ends with an "N" and rhymes with "Duran"), but from my perspective, moving up to a "higher" belt wouldn't solve my burnout problems; the only difference between me being the Hardcore champion and me being the ICTV title would be that the hosses would be more difficult competition to write against. I'm not disparaging our heavy's; they're all great... but would it kill anybody to feed me a LHW every once in a awhile? I think I wanted to say more, but I keep losing my train of thought, so I'll just wait for you guys to rip me to shreds. - Dub Cee
  11. You mean, aside from the fact that it sounds like... Nah, I won't go there; I like Dace...
  12. It's never read "right" for me, either, but it's never this off. It's not usually more than fifteen minutes off; right now, it's over forty-five minutes off!
  13. You know what, Mark? I'm sorry that I disappointed you; I respect you guys, and I know that you're trying to come up with matches that you think everyone will enjoy writing and reading. I'm sure that being a marker/booker is a hard and thankless job... Having said that, however, I can't take it back. Look at my track record; every multi-man gimmick match I've ever been booked in, I've no-showed. I said at least a dozen times back in the JL that I loathe gimmick matches, and I really hate multi-man gimmick matches. Writing a match where you can't win by pinfall is a big enough challenge as it is, and even trying to come up with ideas for a match like this taxes my enjoyment to the point that I usually just say "fuck it." This doesn't have anything to do with anything, other than the fact that I can't wrap my mind around this stip. When I saw the card, I was like, "what the hell?" I spent the next couple of days trying to motivate myself to write the match, but failed miserably, and finally said, "the hell with it." Either way, though, I shouldn't have made such a public display of voicing my displeasure with the match, and I apologize, to you, CC, and the rest of the boys. - Dub Cee
  14. Is it my imagination, or is the board an hour fast today? It's 0830 local time, and the board is telling me it's 0915.
  15. Merry Christmas, asshole.
  16. Annie "Ichiban" Onita versus John "The Sinner" Duran versus Stryke versus Johnny Dangerous - Duran: he's the most likely to show. "Judge Mental" William Hearford versus ??? - Judge. Screw that returning veteran noise. Xstasy versus Wildchild versus Michael Craven versus Crowe versus Linchpin - Anybody but me. I am not writing this... Actually, now that I think about it, Crow will probably win, as he appears to be the only person involved who actually wants to write a "Manger" match. Everyone else will either no-show (read: me), or will show but not be feeling it. Va'aiga versus Terrence "Janus" Bailey - No comment. "The Franchise" Mak Francis versus the Hville Thugg - HVT. Dace Night versus Charlie "Grappler" Matthews - Dace. The Boston Strangler versus Erek Taylor - Strangler will win. Because he is right, and that is enough. AND THE MAIN EVENT… "THE SUPERIOR ONE" TOM FLESHER VERSUS EJIRO FASAKI - If there's anybody in the fed who can take the belt of Tom, it's Ejiro. I'll pick the fellow member of my graduating class for the upset.
  17. Kings vs. Lakers is a much bigger rivalry, and as big a Kings fan as I am (and as much as I HATE the Lakers), I wouldn't consider that to be one of the "greatest" rivalries, either.
  18. Well... at least somebody is...
  19. I guess nobody reads my promos, then; fine. And, as far as how impressive the "Manger" match is... speak for yourself.
  20. Possibly? POSSIBLY?!?!?
  21. SWF “Storm” HOLT report December 10, 2003 Laramie, Wyoming at Laramie Arena-Auditorium Report by Randy Booth of Aspen, CO Smartmarks.com reader Dark Matches: - Aecas beat Craig McLennan in 0:14 with the Wings of Fire. - Landon Maddix beat Jimmy “The Demon” Liston in 4:14 with Crash Landon. - English Dragon beat Dante Crane in 8:22, when he reversed a hurricanrana attempt into the Dragon Driver “Storm”: - Funyon announced that this was a Special Edition of Storm, to make up for the fact that they showed Lockdown on Friday. Comet came out to sing the National Anthem. Afterwards, Bobby Riley came out to join Comet on commentary, and we started up a “You’re a Faggot” chant. - HVT came out and cut a short promo during the commercial break before the Hardcore Title match, saying something about Mak thinking that he was hot shit because he got the drop on him in the back, and how it wasn’t so. He promised that before the show was over, he was going to wreck Mak’s shit. - Wildchild sat in the ring for three or four minutes after the match, refusing any assistance. He wandered around the ring looking up at the sky, as if in shock, and it wasn’t until Johnny came down to ringside that he was able to convince him to return backstage. I was upset by the match, as I’m a HUGE Dub Cee mark, and basically drove up from Aspen just to see him, but Terrance worked his ass off, and earned the belt. - A fight broke out between two fans at ringside during the Dumpster Match. Jim Phelps had both guys removed from the building. - There was an intermission before the main event, where they gave away some SWF T-Shirts and some Frost-brand™ products. I won a Wildchild t-shirt; kick ass! - The crowd was really into the main event. After the match, Mak went backstage almost immediately, but Flesher stayed in the ring to pose for a few minutes. Funyon got into the ring after Tom went to the back, and thanked us all for coming out. Biggest Pops 1) Tom Flesher 2) Mak Francis 3) Terrance Bailey 4) Dace Night 5) Linchpin Most Heat 1) HVT 2) Ejiro Fasaki 3) Judge Hearford 4) Va’aiga 5) Charlie Matthews
  22. I feel sad.
