  1. Damn, only four guys scored... on the whole fucking team?! In the whole fucking game?! I've been watching basketball for over twenty-five years, and I've never even fucking heard of anything like that before.
  2. My son is ten; he stopped watching the Disney Channel some time last year. He's big into cartoons like Naruto and Ben 10, but he also likes that Naked Brothers show, as well as Ned's Declassified something-or-other.
  3. This is really distressing... I've invested nearly five years of my life into this fed, and I hate to see it dying out in this manner. I can't help but wonder how much age has to do with people not being able to make time. I know, for example, I'm one of a very small handful of people here that joined after they were already past their high school/college years, and I've never had any particular kind of homework concerns or a family situation where I had to be concerned about getting kicked off the computer after a certain hour. Is it that people join the fed thinking that they'll have plenty of free time, and don't take work/schoolwork/family into account, or do they just flat-out lose interest? Because at this point, I don't think that the problem is the ability to recruit people, it's the ability to recruit people with the willingness and/or means to stick around more than a week or two at a time. We always seem to get people to want to join, at least once every couple of months, but they never stick around. Is it an issue with them not being able/willing to budget their time, or do they just not want to be here?
  4. Anybody else notice how quick Jackson was to get in on that scrum?
  5. Use an ethernet cable, you putz.
  6. I don't have any daughters, just a son; I think he just thinks she's cute. As to all the toys and whatnot, that's his mother's problem; he's not allowed to use that shit in my house.
  7. I'm sure we could... but perhaps you overlooked the "not particularly interested" part.
  8. A little FYI on Bruner: As I've briefly mentioned to Johnny in our War Room before, I've always had a specific plan of action in mind for my gradual evolution of WC into a permanent fixture in the ME/WHC scene. It involves some "off-camera" character development, and Bruner is the character that I'd always intended to write full/part-time while WC was off going through said development. Unfortunately, my plans for going through with this involved going rather past G8, and I'm not particularly interested in deviating from that, so I guess it's not to be...
  9. Running Tiger Balm?
  10. Listening to the archive now: Johnny, explain to me why you didn't think a bunch of geeks would get a Tolkien reference? I've never even read any of those books (or seen the movies, for that matter), and I got the reference.
  11. :: searches imdb for Jamie Lynn Spears :: Shit, I think he watches that, too. What's so bad about that show?
  12. You guys need that "A Current Affair" soundbyte. When Spike announced he was coming back, you should have played that. And, since Clark brought it up, I only started listening at the bottom of the hour; I've been watching basketball all day. EDIT - And I can no longer hear, so I'm going to go back to watching basketball, and I'll listen to the archive later.
  13. And Alan, no we will not write a joke match: even if Johnny were so inclined, which he doesn't appear to be, I detest joke matches, and would invoke veto if he tried to pitch it to me.
  14. "Well then, how do you remember what he picked last week?" "Because I have notes." Well... don't you feel like an asshole?
  15. I'm running a keeper league, and I'm trying to decide which guys I want to keep. My league has a hard cap, so I'm limited by player values in which guys I can keep. Basically, in order to comply with the cap, I'm down to having to choose between the following set: Chris Bosh Josh Smith TJ Ford or Chris Bosh Gerald Wallace TJ Ford I'm a big Wallace fan, and Gerald scored more points on a higher percentage, and had more steals in the same number of games played. On the other hand, Smith had more rebounds, and three times as many blocks. The main reason why I would pick Smith over Wallace is if I really need those blocks, and if I happened to believe that Wallace only played as well as he did because he was in a contract season (which I don't). The main reason why I would pick Wallace over Smith, if I put my bias aside, is if I think that Wallace's season was an aberration WRT his blocks, and that he'll be back to putting up better numbers next year. So, which one would you take?
  16. Doris Burke. And yes, she does.
  17. Should I be worried? My ten year-old thinks the show is hilarious, but I haven't done the responsible parent thing and screened the show. I figured, if it was on Nickelodeon, it has to be kid-friendly... Am I mistaken?
  18. I'll bet CC wishes they had $1 for every time they heard that one...
  19. Your custom title suits you, alfdogg... becuase you're opinion is interesting, but WRONG! I watched every game the Kings played this year, except for the four that weren't on network or League Pass; he sucks.
  20. Musselman sucks; this should have happened in the preseason.
  21. Do I think that Adelman could have won rings with the GOAT or Shaq/Kobe? Hell yeah; he almost won two with Clyde F. Drexler, and would have won one in '02, if they didn't get jobbed in Game 6. Adelman's problem has always been that he can't coach youth; give him an experienced team with that kind of talent, and an all-world closer like Kobe or the GOAT, and you bet your ass he could.
  22. Twenty-four is too old to be saying "and a half."
  23. My match is done; I'll just want to proofread it one time before I send it in; probably on my first break at work this evening, which'll probably be sometime between 1630-1700.
  24. Elephant noise? What retarded fucking in-joke went over my head this time?
  25. To build on what Alan was mentioning in your match, Johnny, I think that part of the issue could be the fact that the DFA really hasn't been well established as a deadly move; you haven't hardly used it. And, unlike other people's rare moves, on the rare occasions that you have used it, it hasn't been built as a move of consequence. And yes, kicking someone in the nuts is cheating. Even when Landon does it... Just like when Hogan used to rake the eyes.
