  1. The mine part sounds like Tour of Duty...though if it was, I think the part where the soldier tries to crawl into the hole and the VC stabs him over and over again with a sharp stick in the stomach and chest would stand out more.
  2. A bunch of shitty Seether, Shinedown, Nickelback, Alter Bridge, and Three Doors Down songs, with Black Label Society, Sabbath, AC/DC, pre-s/t Metallica, Aerosmith, Zeppelin, and Ozzy mixed in.
  3. COC are good. And, surprisingly enough, it's their newer work that's best, because the older stuff sounds like second-rate wannabe Metallica (though there are quite a few examples of the more groove-oriented style they do now, especially "Vote With a Bullet" off BLiND).

    Help!!

"Scatman" by Scatman John ...yes, it sounds cocky...
  5. I did both (car crash, suicide in the fall of '03). Neither worked, apparently. Sooooo...yeah. I hate Scott Weiland.
  6. Wait...Raven...World champ...WHEN?!
  7. Dammit...just split, you fuckers!
  8. And you forget that Spy Kids 3 sucked dong, though. 2 was decent, but the first one was really good. ...what the fuck, Laz... I hope the wrestler wins, because he's had the name longer.
  9. Between July 10th, 2002 and April 30th, 2003 (Destiny, 'nuff said). There wasn't a single part of any of those shows I didn't enjoy on some level...even the midget beating off in the trashcan. How many awesome matches did they have each week? At least half of them. How interesting was Jeff Jarrett? The most he ever was in his entire career. I still enjoyed the summer of '03, but as soon as Dirty Dutch came onboard, damn...remember the Rushes? I loathed that time period, and haven't watched TNA regularly since King of the Mountain.
  10. And whenever you wonder whether or not Styles is a fitting champion, read this again.
  11. Ah, the joys of your girlfriend having a computer while yours is down for an indefinite amount of time, and her being away so you can talk wrestling. While I don't agree with JARRETT being the one to be the year-long champion, you make perfect sense. Having him lose the belt at the 3-year anniversary show would be better than at another monthly show. You...you lost me there. Let's take a look at just WHERE you lost me... Ah, there we go. A ref bump in the main event match has been 100% expected since the height of the Attitude days in '99 WWF. So, here's what happens: Tito is a fan on the sidelines for Sunday, Jarrett hires some goons to help (sorry, I haven't been 100% following TNA, as I'm never home when Impact airs and don't have regular access to the 'net), and the goons cost Styles. DOA Duthtay Whodes tells Jarrett that there's going to be a rematch, this time with Tito as the special guest enforcer at ringside. Jarrett tries to get Tito on his side, but to no avail. His goons come out (make it no DQ so Jarrett won't seem as bad as he really is, since he'll be able to use weapons and such), and Tito lays waste to them. Styles Clash, 1-2-KICKOUT! Stroke, 1-2-KICKOUT! Stroke off the top IS REVERSED INTO A HIPTOSS...SPIRAL TAP, 1-2-3!!!!! ...sorry, I love the Spiral Tap. Styles/Daniels, anyone?
  12. Shadows Fall have been on a downward spiral since Jon and Matt gave Brian (whose mother actually taught my girlfriend in middle school) room to "get creative." This is what happens when pussy-ass vegetarian New England "hxc" fucks get a pen and a pad of paper. I've actually been listening to practically nothing but Slayer and Misfits nonstop for the past month and a half or so. And Mike...no goodbye from you? That, somehow, disappoints me. I mean, we survived TotalNonStop together, and we were the only voices of reason on the TNA board for the longest time. Whatever. You're a Republican, it's alright that you're an asshole. See y'all later.
  13. Well, my computer crashed sometime last week, and I don't have the finances to fix it, so I'm going to go away for a long time before I can save up enough cash to get a new one. Right now, I'm on somebody else's, and I'm only on for a little bit before I go take a nap. So, not that anybody gives a rat's ass, but take it easy.
  14. And I haven't? I'm not going to pretend I've been watching since day one. More like since. The first Jarrett vs Killings feud. But I consider that to be long enough. And another thing, I wouldn't consider myself a TNA supporter. I think the product as a whole is too flakey and doesn't make much sense, much like WCW. Yet you support JJ, the main man in charge, as champion, when there are other, better alternatives on the roster. Interesting. I see that phrase a lot in this thread. But then i also read that JJ wanted Monty to go over him and Dusty said no. But i thought JJ had the final word in everything? Think about it. You and your friend Dutch want to make this new guy look good. Then, some fat old man named Dusty comes in and says not yet. You think twice and go "hey, you're right, he's not ready." Given JJ's track record of not putting people over when the crowd was hot for them? It's not that hard of a scenario to imagine. ABYSS? Are you serious. He CAN'T talk...at all! He hasn't said shit..ever. There is no way he could be a credible champion. He can wrestle..no doubt. But the makind/Kane thing was lame then and it's lame as HELL now. The only man on that list who MIGHT be more over than Jarrett is AJ. And Chris Benoit didn't cut a promo that was more than a couple words in WCW from 1997 until 1999. Fans bought him as champion when he made Sid tap at Souled Out '00, even though he was leaving, solely based on the quality of his ringwork. Kane was a considered a threat to Steve Austin in 1998 at King of the Ring in the First Blood match, and he only said a couple words (and they were masked with a voicebox). As said, Sting's peak of popularity amongst fans was in 1997 WCW when he never said a single word. Goldberg's peak of popularity and drawing power was in 1998 when the only words he would say were "YOU'RE NEXT." Need I continue? Orton...YES. although it's not ALL HHH's fault. But you blame everything on JJ, so I'll blindly say Trips is all to blame for how lame randy is. Because JJ is the guy in charge at TNA. HHH may have a lot of power in WWE, but it's ultimately Vince's decision. Like others have said, Jericho could win the World Heavyweight title tomorrow and fans would accept him as champion. The only reason his Undisputed title reign was shit was because it started off to make him look like a Honky Tonk champion (REQUIRING interference and cheating to win), and being booked as a second-fiddle to Stephanie's DOG didn't help matters. Did the actual matches with HHH make Jericho look like shit? No. In fact, I'd say that Jericho losing at Fully Loaded 2000 to HHH made him look even more like a main eventer, since HHH couldn't even walk back up the ramp due to the damage Jericho had inflicted upon him. Because RVD has been buried by more people than just HHH. Plus, HHH's defeats of RVD always came after a shitload of interference from Evolution. Kane? The feud with Shane McMahon ruined him, not the feud with HHH (though Katie Vick didn't help). Booker? I'll give you that one. You're right, but thats not what i meant. I meant they probably(again i don't know for certain) want to give the title to a younger contender, I know jarrett is old. Thats why they don't give the belt to the likes of DDP, Savage and Nash. Because it would be devestating to morale that a man past his prime can walk in and become champion, when someone like Monty or Killings who work thier asses off don't get a break. I know thats what it seems like now, but Killings had his break and he will get it again. And just wait...Monty will get his too. Killings had his break because JERRY saw how over he was after TNA had only been open for 6 weeks. He was more over than his own son, and he booked him to win the NWA World title BEFORE his flesh and blood for a reason. And yes, it would be devastating to morale if a man past his prime waltzed in and became champion. Oh, wait...it already happened the moment JJ's second World title reign started in late '03 (notice I said SECOND reign, since I thoroughly believe his first reign as NWA World champion was terrific until April 30th). Monty will get his? When? When he turns face again? I didn't mean that AJ or the Truth wouldn't be credible, i carefully used the word position, meaning they were involved in other things for the time being. Also Killings got pinned CLEAN by primetime, how credible would he be? I suppose that too is 100% Jarrett's fault. How credible would he be? As credible as the man who, in his last match in the BIGGEST COMPANY IN THE HISTORY OF THE BUSINESS, was beaten by a woman with a broom. As credible as a man who HAD HIS FACE SHOVED INTO A DONKEY'S REAR by a fat old man and his son. As credible as a man who gets told week-in and week-out that he isn't the one people came to see by the fans. Hell, he'd be more credible than all of them, and a much better choice, too. So AJ looked like gold when Jarrett beat him...when? When Russo interfered all over the place and AJ still lost clean? When AJ jobbed to a man who hadn't had a match in nearly two years and JJ? When AJ carried the first King of the Mountain match with everybody but Killings kicking and screaming along the way, only to not win it? WHEN the flying FUCK did Jarrett EVER make Styles look good? He no-sold all of his biggest moves by kicking out of them during their first singles encounter, ran him down in promo's all the time, and has always made himself look smarter than Styles. WHEN? And name one person? Don't need to. You don't need to win clean to bury somebody. Case in point: 4/30/03 - Raven vs. Jeff Jarrett In the worst case scenario, this match should have gone to a draw so that Jarrett retains the title on a technicality, but Raven - should he re-sign with TNA - still looks strong. That wasn't the case. I wonder who decided that? Considering Jarrett was telling Russo what to do for most of Russo's TNA run (and Russo's said this on a few occasions), I blame Jeff. Jeff took Singapore Cane shots from THE SANDMAN and JUSTIN CREDIBLE - two men who were hyped as being the masters of that particular weapon for their respective tenures in ECW, and many TNA fans were also former ECW fans mind you - and weaponshots from New Jack (whose entire career is based around weaponshots). I believe he also received a Death Valley Driver from Saturn, which was the move he used to win quite a few matches in WCW in 1998 and 1999. Then, of course, there was the HOGAN KILLER (and I call it this because even Hulk would job to the spot) in the DOUBLE SUPERKICK CON-CHAIR-TO (New Jack and Sandman sandwiched Jarrett's head with steel chairs, like E&C's old Con-chair-to move, and then Justin Credible and Perry Saturn delivered Superkicks to either chair, essentially delivering DUEL VAN DAMINATORS to Jeff Jarrett). Then? Sabu ran in, cleared house, and hit Raven ONCE with a chair. ONCE. Jarrett kicks out of 2 Evenflow's, and pins Raven with The Stroke 1-2-3. How ANYBODY could possibly defend Jarrett following that bullshit is completely fucking beyond me. And, for old time's sake: Fuck Jeff Jarrett.
  15. "IT'S A SHOOT, BABAY~!" Though Styles cutting a promo on somebody from the confines of the Popemobile WOULD be interesting...
  16. I'm going to be replying to both of your posts. I feel that I, as one of the few people at this board that has watched TNA since the beginning, may be able to shed some light on either side of this argument. No, it is. Just as WWE's lowered ratings were Vince's fault for not pushing new people when he had the chance, the damage being done to the company by Jarrett as the NWA World champion is his fault since he has THE final say in the end. AJ Styles. Abyss. DDP. Ron Killings. Monty Brown. They're all over enough, and can work well enough, to be credible World champions. They're all certainly more over than Jarrett, considering none of them get chants born from the IWC about their backstage antics. Guess who had the final say on turning him heel? It's a wise strategy, I will admit. Turn the one man that you originally wanted to drop the belt to heel so that you no longer have a real reason to. WWE draws money from PPVs when HHH is in the main event. WWE Raw draws, routinely, some of the highest ratings on cable television, regardless of whether or not HHH is the focus (which he usually is). WWE live events do good enough business to at least break even, usually with HHH in the main event. TNA hasn't turned in a profit EVER, and Jarrett has been in the main event since day one. Fans don't chant "Drop the title" at HHH, but rather the usual chants towards heels, such as "asshole." They chant phrases born of the IWC towards Jarrett to show their displeasure with him as champion. But...you're right. Comparing Jarrett and HHH isn't fair to either man. For one thing...HHH can put on a great match with the right opponent, and knows enough about pacing and selling to make even his sub-par matches worth at least a watch. With Jarrett, every match is the same, as he doesn't change up his offense or even the booking of the finishes. HHH was in the main event during the WWF's most profitable year to date in 2000. Jarrett has never been the focus of a company that has turned in any sort of a profit. So Chris Benoit, Randy Orton, The Rock, Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, and Big Show have lost all credibility and heat? Benoit is still one of the most over faces on the roster, Orton is still over enough to be accepted as an upper midcarder, The Rock has always been phenomenally over, Austin is one of the biggest draws of all-time (can't remember if he's outdrawn Hogan or not, but I do believe he has), Jericho is over enough to be accepted as an upper midcarder, and Big Show is always over to a certain degree, and his losses to HHH have done little to no harm to him. AJ Styles, Ron Killings, and Raven were all viable main eventers in TNA. Then Jarrett pinned them, and they weren't seen in the World title scene since. It took Killings A YEAR AND A HALF to even go back to the upper midcard, and Raven has done nothing but go lower and lower on the card since April 30th, 2003. AJ is still the only one of the three that remains over, and that's because TNA knows that he IS their version of Sting, where he'll always be over with the hardcore fans, so they book him favorably at all times, just in case Jarrett needs to drop the title due to either injury or to show that he WILL drop the belt. Everything we blame on JJ is because he 100% deserves it. Same old match, week-in and week-out? Yes. Consistently wins matches over more deserving babyfaces? Yes. Routinely overbooked finishes? Yes. Has the final say on any and all angles involving him, and uses this power to make him look better than he really is? Yes. What do we blame on him that we shouldn't? Nothing. You never know when somebody is or isn't ready until you give them the chance. Ron Killings "wasn't ready" in '02, but Jerry Jarrett gave him the chance, and he became the company's first breakout star. AJ Styles "wasn't ready" to go from midcard to main event in early '03, but Jerry and Russo gave him the chance, and he is now the EPITOME of what TNA is supposed to stand for. So keeping the belt on a man nearing his 40's is TNA focusing on youth, eh? Having the majority of the main event talent being over-the-hill former stars is focusing on youth, huh? DDP was actually pretty damn popular in WCW in 1998, which was one of WCW's few incredibly successful years, and fans bought him as a World title contender when he had his match against Sting after Sting won the belt off of Hogan at SuperBrawl. Hell, there were even some cries of disappointment when DDP didn't win. Did anybody show their displeasure when Jarrett lost a single match? Nope. So DDP would have been a better choice than Jarrett, since DDP also likes to make it a habit of putting people over, as he knows his days in this business are nearing an end. They haven't? Well...AJ Styles ring a bell? Ron Killings ring a bell? EITHER man could, credibly, win the belt off of AJ, and few would actually complain. And I wonder why that is. Right now? Yes. Keeping the belt on Jarrett until they build up either Brown, Styles, or Killings as a viable contender IS in the company's best interest. But that's only because of how much Jarrett has buried every other viable contender on the show, be it in the past or in the present. And AJ never won over Jarrett cleanly. Not even in tag matches. Their first tag match, which was shortly before Killings/Jarrett I? AJ and Lynn vs. Killings and Jarrett. Double DQ. AJ was a face going into the Raven/Styles/Jarrett Triple Threat match, and he turned heel after Russo interfered to get him the title (throwing out every working angle going on up until that point involving SEX and Styles). AJ only had the chance to get to his feet and collect his bearings in the cage match last year because Russo distracted Jarrett, thus allowing AJ to actually get up to his feet (it's in the same vein as if Scott D'Amore were to distract Chris Sabin when Sabin is going in for the Cradle Shock on Petey Williams, but then Sabin turns around after Williams gets to his feet, and Williams nails the Canadian Destroyer; the win isn't clean). But hey, who am I? I've just watched the shows enough to have an understanding of the product. As has Mike. And Slapnuts (and even he, the biggest informed TNA supporter at TSM, is on our side of the fence when it comes to Jarrett's title reigns).
  17. They should call it Schweaty Ballz.
  18. It's because TNA's booking team has sucked hardcore since Jerry lost power. When it was Jerry and Russo, the two balanced each other out enough to produce a watchable, entertaining product, with trademarks from both men and the knowledge that you need to let the wrestlers do their things as best as they can. Then Jerry lost power to Jeff when Dixie Carter decided she liked Jeff better, and Russo left because Jeff wanted Hogan, and in came Dirty Dutch, who has been, by far, the worst choice of a booker ever for a rising indy promotion that prides itself on innovation (considering he made the shows seem like a B-level SmackDown). Then Dutch, Russo, and Jeff tried to write the shows, and they were better than just Dutch and Jeff, but still not good. Then Russo left and it was all Jeff and Dutch again, and then they brought in Dusty, but Jeff still has final say. With a plethora of terrible bookers in TNA's short history...why the fuck would any of you expect the booking to be any good?
  19. WWE SUMMERSLAM Charlotte, North Carolina 1) Lenny Lane pinned Shark Boy at 7:53 via a Brainbuster. *1/4. 2) Sabotage d. LowKi/AJ Styles via submission at 11:12 when Eddie Edwards locked a Sharpshooter on AJ Styles. ***1/2. 3) Sycho Sid drew Blackjack Mulligan at 9:32 via double-countout in a Last Man Standing match. Both men bladed early and bled profusely. *1/2. 4) Tommy Dreamer d. Lance Storm at 10:43 after Raven interfered. An impromptu brawl broke out between Raven and Dreamer, and Raven had the upper hand until The Undertaker entered, setting up the next match. **3/4. 5) The Undertaker d. Raven at 8:12 via the Tombstone after no-selling three Evenflow's and a hiptoss through a table at ringside. *. 6) Steve Austin d. The Rock (w/ Vince McMahon) at 23:05 via a third Stone Cold Stunner after McMahon turned on Rock with a chairshot. ****. Following the match, Austin went to shake McMahon's hand, but then gave him a Stunner and poured beer all over him. 7) Taz d. American Dragon at 14:56 after Dragon tapped to the Tazmission. ***3/4. Said to be the most heated match on the card. 8) Shawn Michaels, HHH, and Scott Hall d. Sting, Ric Flair, and Goldberg at 29:50 when Michaels hit Sweet Chin Music on Flair before Flair made HHH tap to the Figure Four. **1/2. Fans were irate following the match, and some even rushed the ring.
  20. Texas Chainsaw Massacre has the most intense final 20 minutes ever capture on film, IMO. The Evil Dead is quality for creating tremendous amounts of suspense, and if you watch it with an open mind in a dark room - alone or with people that haven't seen it before - it can get to you. Personally, I felt that Alien was terrifying the first time I saw it (though I was 7).
  21. ...HE DIDN'T?! Taking the same name of Vader's finish in WCW, the Vader Bomb, and giving it to his Bonzai Drop.
  22. Vern: Matt could TOTALLY shoot on Edge and break something purposefully (since I doubt he'd care much about his WWE career when given the chance to hurt the man that his girlfriend cheated on him with), or vice versa (in which case Edge would be buried more for not only infidelity, but also for injuring another wrestler on purpose). CC: It's a guy thing. When the woman cheats on you? You're hurt, but you know you still care for her on some plain, so you don't absolutely 100% want her dead. But the guy? The guy said "yes" too. And when the guy she cheated on you with has been one of your best friends in the company for half a decade? You want to fuck their shit up.
  23. "I <3 COOKIES" "SubWay: Eat Fresh" "This is my sign" Or, bring multiple signs with one long, run-on sentence: "So, yesterday, I was at the mall..." "...and this man approached me. His name was Bob." "Bob was wearing a strawhat and chewing on a toothpick." "Then I shot him with a squirtgun and ran him over with my moped." "THE END." "NOT." "This just won't end, will it?" "Ever noticed that sticky sensation between your toes?" "That sucks, doesn't it?" "Just like these signs."
  24. But that's like saying Megadeth is a ripoff of Metallica, or Iron Maiden a ripoff of Judas Priest. Yes, they have a lot in common, but both RVD and Kid Kash have vastly different styles in the ring, and their characters are pretty much polar opposites. So they both use yin-yang's, and the TNA shirtmakers decided to give him an RVD-ish dragon and font. RVD isn't the first person to use the yin-yang or the dragon.
