All That Remains is okay, but it didn't meet the expectations that the original tracks on Happenstance put forth (basically, "To Kill A Stranger" and "Happenstance" are better than anything on this album). I'd say buy it if it's on discount or clearout, but otherwise? Download a couple tracks.
  2. Katherine Isabell - Ginger Snaps (Of course, she's only been in one other "big" movie other than the Ginger Snaps trilogy, but hey.) Dan Aykroyd - Ghostbusters (Hell, just about ALL of the Ghostbusters cast, really.)
  3. 1. Benoit making HHH tap out at WMXX, and the post-match hug between him and Eddie Guerrero. Got my friend Eric, who isn't even into wrestling, emotional (me and my buddy Chris explained to him why Benoit winning was such a big deal before the match even started). 2. Austin pinning HBK at WrestleMania 14 with the Stunner after blocking Sweet Chin Music (also my favorite Stunner hit to date). 3. Kane delivering the Tombstone to Pete Rose in the chicken costume at WrestleMania 15.
  4. Benoit is greater than anybody that has ever passed through in TNA. Hands-down. That shouldn't be argued, and if it is? I'm revoking your SmartMarks membership card. Or something.
  5. VH1 is still mostly about the music. Mostly about absolutely terrible music, but music nonetheless. I heard "Judas Rising" today on WAAF right after Mistress Carrie's Coffe Break Request. Fucking ruled, and I'm not even a Priest fan.
  6. MIKE WAZOWSKI!
  7. The German superplex Kid Kash gave to The Amazing Red in their first encounter back in early '03 in TNA. Red did two complete flips and still landed practically on his head...but he kept fighting, hit the Red Star Press and the 718, and also hit the Code Red (he hit it right after taking the German, too), and missed a somersault plancha before getting hit with Kash's double underhook piledriver (I alway forget if it's called the Kash Driver or the Money In The Bank).
  8. What a useless moron Scott Keith is!
  9. Brother Peep.
  10. Fucking awesome live. Jerry does the singing, and his voice sucks, but there's so much damn energy that when Jerry, Marky, and Dez take the stage, you can't HELP but love every minute of it. The first time I saw them, their sound system was fucked up for the first 1/3 of the set, so after they did it all, they repeated the first 1/3 all over again. Plus, Jerry will come back out a few minutes after the set is done and will sign autographs for EVERYBODY that wants one.
  11. The Road Warriors vs. America's Most Wanted XXX vs. The Rockers XXX vs. The Hardy Boyz TNA's Team Canada vs. WCW's Team Canada
  12. I always thought that Christian would prolly be pretty damn pimpin' in an all-white suit with a black shirt and a crimson tie.
  13. They only played a handful of "newer" stuff, and the only song from after '83 that I can remember off the top of my head is "Dig Up Her Bones." I think they also segue into "The Abominable Dr. Phibes" before doing a small portion of the newer stuff. The first time I saw them, they played 20 minutes of the old stuff, then 20 minutes of the new stuff, and then 20 minutes of covers. Both times after that, they've played about 40 minutes of mixed old and new (mostly old), 10 minutes of Ramones covers, and 10 minutes of Black Flag covers.
  14. Or jumped out of a moving vehicle, hit their head, and received massive head trauma so that they're on life support for a few days before their parents - who were driving them - pull the plug. RIP Tina
  15. Ki's look is better. I find Spanky's promo's to be better (a lot of what Daniels' says comes off overly forced to me). ...by signing people that quit TNA?
  16. Killings in the X-Division I can TOTALLY buy. Why? Because he started his career off (well, "started" isn't the completely right word) as K-Kwik in the WWF, and what was he labeled? A high-flyer. His finish was the 450 Splash, and he does a damn fine one, too. Killings, to me, is the PERFECT choice to have as a World champion or constant contender, because the man can wrestle ANY style given to him, and make the fans love it.
  17. Meh. Swinger's sucked for the past few years. Nothing new: WWE hiring a shitty wrestler with a good look.
  18. Regardless, Dusty is the wrong man for the job, considering he doesn't want any younger talent really showing up the old guys that have no fucking future in the business.

    NECW

This was a decent-at-best show, with the best match being Starr/Bennett (and I'm not a fan of either man). Of course, the highlight of the show was chatting it up with Mercedes during the premiere of D-Unit's video, talking to El Boricua during intermission, and Sabotage bringing the heel awesomeness. Hopefully, the 3/19 Framingham show will have Sabotage and PRIDE instead of the 3/12 show, since Framingham is, well, NECW's hometown now (if I'm not mistaken, their largest crowds are in Framingham, and their best shows throughout '04 were in Framingham). I'm SO looking forward to that match, because PRIDE went from generic heel tag team #12 to being pretty damn solid, and Sabotage has always rocked (and DC Dillinger is actually starting to get a whole lot better in the ring than he was just a few months ago).
  20. Because TNA believes that Ultimate X is their best chance to draw interest in the X-Division, when all they really need to do is put some thought into its booking instead of just throwing a few small guys out there and saying "hit your highspots and then go home."
  21. IMO, AJ clicks best with opponents that can't work his exact style. His best matches, in my eyes anyway, have been with Jerry Lynn, LowKi, D'Lo Brown, and Abyss. Lynn is more of the old-school high flyer, with the majority of his "X-Division" offense being various high-impact grapples and a few lesser-used submissions. LowKi is just fucking sick, as when he and Styles get into kicking contests, I mark out (this is also, of course, because I mark for Ki). D'Lo and Styles have tremendous chemistry, and have since they first were in the same match together in '03 when they won the Tag belts off of XXX. And, of course, his feud with Abyss was marvelous for what it was (despite the terrible overbooking of each match), because Abyss played the monster heel superbly, and Styles timed his comebacks perfectly. I've yet to see any Styles matches without one of those four that has truly amazed me. Those 4 would be the "top tier" of opponents for Styles. Second tier, IMO, is Amazing Red, Ron Killings, Sean Waltman, and Elix Skipper. Everybody else just produces average-to-pretty good matches with Styles, with his worst bouts being against Jeff Hardy (though that goes with just near everybody). Something just irks me about Daniels in his TNA work, and I don't know what. His RoH body of work is fantastic, because he does just about every style he can do in each and every match, and sells like a mother, but in TNA...he seems to adopt KAS (Kurt Angle Syndrome).
  22. But the problem is that they're opinions don't count for shit when WE are the ones that TNA are attempting to get to buy the shows. It's a wrestling journalist's job to see as much pro wrestling as they can so that they can deliver varied news and varied reviews. I was going to buy a replay of the show this time, honestly, if it got good reviews here from people that I think of as "on-the-border" fans: the ones that don't HATE TNA, but don't LOVE it either. They all gave negative reviews and, to me? Those people are the easiest ways to get a good, unbiased review of a show. And the majority of wrestling reviewers and critics don't share the hatred for Jeff Jarrett that nearly half of the fanbase does. The majority of the wrestling reviewers and journalists don't remember how great TNA was for the major part of 2003. The majority of the wrestling reviewers and journalistics tend to forget how terrible the product has been since JJ and Dutch took control in late '03, and how it's only gotten slightly better since.
  23. You are queer. Why am I imagining that Predator's voice is Strongbad's?
  24. Unless he debuts on Velocity in two weeks and works OVW for a year after that...
  25. Antonio Thomas deserves better than this. 'Nuff said.
