If I have the money, I'll try to catch a replay. I prolly won't have the money, though, considering I might have people over for the Rumble, and trying to find an affordable apartment, need to pay off my car insurance bill, need gas and good, etc. HOWEVER...if I do order a replay of Final Resolution, and I fucking hate it? Like, hate it to the point where I'd compare it to a 1999 WCW PPV? Then I'll forever linger in any and all TNA threads and talk about their impending doom. I'll be worse than Mike ever could hope to have been.

It's very simple: Chris Harris can't sell for shit and the few moves he can pull off, outside of the Catatonic, are pulled off rather poorly. James Storm has no charisma whatsoever when he plays his role seriously, and he's never given the opportunity to show that he carries the team with a singles push, which he deserves more than Harris does. False. In 2003, nobody - NOBODY - could touch the World's Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin) in terms of a regular tag team having good-great matches. XXX's matches, regardless of the pairing, were regularly better than AMW's in 2003 TNA, and even in 2004 TNA. Local tag team Sabotage (DC Dillinger and Eddie Edwards) put on better matches all-around than AMW does, and they aren't even being carried by great workers (as AMW's best matches involved Christopher Daniels). No, they really don't. They tease a hot tag, but don't go for it, and then hit the hot tag before the fans even know what's going on. The finish is almost always the same, with either the Death Sentence being hit after a minute of stalling, or Harris getting cheated so that Storm can be pinned. How is that "executing it perfectly" if their matches are primarily known for the sick bumps of their OPPONENTS and the bloodshed during the brawls? I'll believe it when I see it, because the only person on Team Canada that I like at all is Johnny Devine, since he seems to be the only one that knows how to work a damn match. Which pairing of Team Canada was it at Final Resolution?

To be fair, Looney, most of Jarrett's big matches in TNA have been in the ***-***1/2 range. Of course, these same matches were against top-notch opponents like Raven, AJ Styles, Ron Killings, and the like, so take that as you will. And as for the reason I constantly rag on TNA, even when I admit to not watching the shows? Because TNA is WCW: no real upward mobility for the better talents, office political wars, and no true direction to go to. AMW winning again? Terrible booking. There's also the fact that I highly doubt the tag match was over **1/2, if that, because Team Canada, well, sucks, and AMW, well, sucks more. They've never, in the 2 1/2 years they've been teaming together, been able to properly build to a hot tag. As for Kash/Dustin, I'll admit it: I wanna see that match. Then again, I'm also a vocal Kid Kash mark, so take that as you will.

I've never laughed so hard at something from the 'net before in my life.

Cena because of a random choice, and Jarrett because he's caused a couple of riots in foreign lands when he defeated the hometown boy.

Whenever the usual regulars at an NECW show aren't there (which has been happening more and more lately), and there are a bunch of newcomer fans. It just hit me last night that most of the faces I saw when I looked around I'd never seen before.

The reason Mercedes couldn't make it to the 1/15 show was because of the weather, since she was back home (she lives in Massachusetts). There is a new IWA-MS Women's champion, as at the NECW show on 1/15 Mercedes Martinez lost the title in a Triple Threat match to Ariel (who sucks, and pretty much personifies the WWE Diva style of NOT KNOWING HOW TO FUCKING WRESTLE). The third woman in the match was Hayley Skye. Mercedes carried both of those two talentless fucks.

At one time, and even now at times, the piledriver was a credible finisher..or 'move'. So why shouldn't this be? I mean, are you saying, he should do the Canadian Destroyer, as a move for a pop. And then after that, end a match with say...a really hard clothesline? Lol. I'm saying that doing a flipping piledriver here and there would be a good highspot, because it just doesn't LOOK like it'd be a finishing maneuver. It just doesn't have the finesse to make it a good finish, if that makes any sense. When I see it, I ask the same question each time: "why doesn't his opponent just drop down to his knees mid-move to drop Petey on his fucking head?" I don't doubt that the piledriver itself would be a good finish, but this variation of it just makes the move seem like too much of a highspot and not enough like an actual finish. Why shouldn't people kick out of the Canadian Destroyer when they're kicking out of everything else in the match that SHOULD put them away? Considering some of the other moves in the X-Division, the Canadian Destroyer actually looks pretty weak. His mic skills aren't even why I like him. I think he's a pretty dull interview, and his voice annoys me. But it's how he moves in the ring that makes me love him. He's, arguably, the greatest heel in TNA. He takes cheapshots at every opportunity, is just such a prick to EVERYBODY (smaller opponents, larger opponents, the referee, the fans, etc.), and he bumps his ass off to make his opponent look good. The guy can tell a story, and he was the best thing going for TNA in all of 2004, in my eyes, and it's just another reason to dislike JJ for not pushing him to the moon when the fans would buy him as a top contender for the World title. And yes, his heat has dwindled. But can you blame the fans for not getting into his matches as much as they used to when it's both new fans compared to Nashville, probably more "marky" fans (they pop for Jeff Hardy, 'nuff said), and he's been booked into meaningless tag feuds with shitty opponents, if anything at all?

The Living Dead would win, because it would be just a matter of time before the Infected starve to death (if I remember correctly, it takes only a few weeks for the human body to die of starvation, not to mention dehydration setting in in only a week's time, maybe less). And then Ash and Shaun show up and kill the Living Dead, and voila: we have multiple franchise face-off's.
-
I'd argue that IWS is more important than a good load of other indies on the list, or at least more popular, seeing as how they get pretty good-sized crowds and have their talent coming to the States quite often.
-
It doesn't matter if the move is pretty or not, because I think it's a good spot. But that's my point: it's a good highspot, not a good move, if that makes any sense. And if TNA was true about pushing people the fans wanted to see, then not only would Monty Brown have been World champion two months ago, but Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Randy Savage would have NEVER been brought in, and Kid Kash would be one of the top 3 heels in the company.
-
Who cares if it's over? In a few months, the fans won't give a fuck about it because the move will be overexposed. Like I said, I wouldn't hate the move as much as I do if he were to be running before doing it, or done it off the top with his opponent standing in the ring, but as it is? I feel it exposes the business too much for me to like it. It doesn't even have the showmanship that the People's Elbow did to at least make up for it. It's just "oh, I'm Petey Williams, and this guy is going to backflip while I roll forward." I only complain about valid points. It's not my fault that there's a shitload of valid points to complain about with TNA.
-
As Vyce said, it's implausible. It's obvious that the person taking it does the majority of the work for the move, which just makes it fairly business-exposing in my eyes, and ruins my suspension of disbelief greatly. If he were to do it with him on middle rope and his opponent standing in the ring, or running at a hunched over opponent, it wouldn't seem as implausible (with both cases because Williams would have the momentum to do the move and make it believable), but as it is? No.

Who still routinely watches Pro Wrestling
Corey_Lazarus replied to Vern Gagne's topic in General Chat
I just check out the recaps unless I'm bored enough to actually turn the TV on and watch it. I still watch a lot of my tapes and DVDs, though. -
How am I underrating Dutt, Williams, and Skipper as singles performers? Dutt has done nothing of note besides a decent series with The Amazing Red last year that was, basically, just one match broken into 3 parts. Williams, outside of having the most business-exposing finisher around today, doesn't do anything that notable in the ring. And Skipper has never been a good singles wrestler. There's a reason his best matches are tag bouts: so that his partner can be tagged in before Skipper loses track of what's going on.

No. Main event doesn't look appealing at ALL, despite that it's obviously going to be Brown/Jarrett, since I'd put money down on Jarrett retaining against whoever anyway. The only Ultimate X match that I felt was any good whatsoever was UX2, which featured the awesomeness of both LowKi and Christopher Daniels to carry Michael Shane, with Sabin hitting his highspots here and there (but ultimately, as in the first Ultimate X, the winner was the one that had the worst showing during the match) before the win. Another UX match with Sabin? Meh. He's being stereotyped. Williams? Uber-meh. I haven't ever cared for Williams, and he's never given me a reason to. Styles? He should be in the main event, not challenging against Petey Williams for a title he's already won three times. America's Most Wanted sucks. Team Canada sucks, unless it's Johnny fucking Devine. And even if it is Devine, he can't carry the suckbags known as AMW to a good match. Christopher Daniels and LowKi were barely able to carry AMW to good matches a year and a half ago. Elix Skipper...is overrated by every TNA fan there is. To say he's nothing more than a spotmonkey is actually giving him too much credit. Sonjay Dutt has never shown me anything about him to make me see him as anything more than a generic cruiserweight. Daniels/Kazarishane vs. 3LK? Talk about wasted potential. Daniels/Kazarishane would be a very good teaming, as Kazarian and Shane compliment each other to the point where I actually LIKE them now, and Daniels is fucking Daniels, so he's always great. But BG James? Konnan? Terrible. Truth needs to get away from 3LK for good and back into the World title hunt. The other matches advertised do nothing for me but make me glad I'm saving $15 by seeing NECW tomorrow night instead of ordering Final Resolution.

Mmmmm...zombies...
-
After Dawn '04 and Shaun being so awesome (with Shaun being the best zombie flick to come out since the Night '90), these...look disappointing. KILLED BY BULLETS?! The entire point of the ROTLD series was that the zombies couldn't be stopped by anything but incineration (and electricity, which incinerates them from the inside-out, so it counts too), because Romero was forced by the government to lie after the Trioxin spill in the 60's (re: the original, the dialogue between Frank and Freddy to open the film). Still...the zombie makeup looks very good, and the Tarman '05 design is awesome.

The last good horror sequel I can remember is Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed. Before that? Probably Evil Dead II.
