  1. They were in Toronto, I believe, when he cut that promo. Dames
  2. Mr. Subb is pretty big in upstate NY actually. Dames
  3. Well, what can I say. I tried to be as thorough as I could be and I've always found Bruiser's point to be the main point of contention in my articles from readers. I tried to incorporate a small summary in the My Opinion section of my works to describe what worked and what didn't, but a lot of times, I was already burned out from the pbp. In matches where I deemed it appropriate, I gave more attention to, but for the most part people preferred it the way it was done. If I ever do resume writing again, I'm definitely going to make a conscious effort to try and incorporate it. Dames
  4. ...I didn't know she wasn't coming back I have a feeling that Aceveda is going to end up with the whole oral rape thing biting him in the ass in the end and being exposed and disgraced. It'll be nuts if Vic ever has to haul him in for something, maybe the hooker or solicitation or something... Dames
  5. By the point that battle took place, Vader had killed Younglings and others, betrayed the council and even Force Choked Padme.... They weren't friends anymore. Dames
  6. Damn you Malibu. Damn you for not having this on VIDEO. I must see Zack, Zack baby. Dames
  7. I actually just bought the movie for like 5.50 at Walmart. I've never seen it, haven't heard ANYTHING good about it, but I just had to get it at that price. Dames
  8. I actually agree with that. In '99, Test was really taking off until the HHH/Stephanie angle took place and killed his heat for years. Take a look again at the Shane McMahon/Test match from SummerSlam '99 and listen to the crowd. Test was OVER then. Dames
  9. I'd agree with you on that, but HBK most definitely isn't up for debate. The company decided to make him the top star in 96, that's THE spotlight. Dames
  10. How many of you own all of the Buffy and Angel sets on DVD at this point? Dames
  11. I wouldn't agree with that, unless you're willing to say that anyone who's been IN the main event has had the "main event spotlight". Booker's had a cup of coffee in the main event and I wouldn't call that a spotlight what so ever, especially the way he was treated. Dames
  12. First off, this thread will NOT be classic'd...not every Buffy/Angel thread should be. But, this discussion will always live on. Discuss. Dames
  13. Well...It's been over a year since the show ended, the DVD is out and it looks like all of the actors have moved on. Therefore, I will keep my promise and put this thread where it belongs, albeit about 50 pages late. Dames
  14. Since going to WWE, what exactly has Booker T accomplished in his "main event spotlight"? Jobbed against HHH at Wrestlemania 19, despite the racism angle. Jobbed to JBL. Lost the WCW Title to the Rock at SummerSlam 01. I can't recall a PPV "main event" that Booker T was in where he hands down won. Tag titles and U.S. titles are good and dandy, but doesn't put him in the main event tier, which is where he should have been coming straight from WCW. Dames
  15. As opposed to TNA which is always comped? Lets see... Even if half of a 3000 seat arena was comped by ECW, that's still 1500 as compared to ZERO. Dames
  16. In the context of the match, without knowing what the result was going to be, that looks like THE most perilous situation Austin could have been in, considering it was an I Quit/Submission Match and The Sharpshooter was the most protected submission finishing hold in the past decade at that point. Considering there's no pinfalls to take place in the match up, the entire build up was to see who would give and what it would take to get that person TO give. I would say that's more than serious peril, which is why that moment has been embedded as THE moment was Austin earned the "toughest SOB" title. Dames
  17. Coffin, I noticed that you have 6 matches in your WWE section that involve Bret & Austin....but you don't have Bret vs. Austin from WM 13. Just curious....what are your thoughts on that match and why doesn't it crack your top 10? Dames
  18. Yeah....who expects to be bitten by a shark and is fully prepared to use Shark Repellant that you just HAPPEN to have there with you.... and it was a MECHANICAL FUCKING SHARK! Gotta love it. Dames
  19. The Batman movie from the 60's with Adam West. Shark Repellant. That is all. Dames
  20. HHH is a good brawler. He can put on the occasional scientific match up against the right opponent (Benoit comes to mind immediately), but most of the time, his juiced up body is good for nothing more than punches, kicks, a sledgehammer shot and the Pedigree. And I was a HUGE HHH fan a few years ago...and a closet mark today a bit, but I can't deny the truth. Dames
  21. I like the vegetables in fried rice....just prefer not to have them most of the time. Dames
  22. Meltz stated on his site that the original plan was for Foley, but it looks like Tazz will be in his stead. Dames
  23. The first time I can recall HHH using the sledgehammer was when the Rock was placed inside a casket and HHH went nuts on it. I'm pretty sure this was in 99. Then again, I could be wrong... Dames
  24. Shrimp Fried Rice (No Vegetables) and Fried Chicken Wings. Dames
  25. I agree with you there, but in the grand scheme of things, I can't award the title of "Best match all year" to a match with a DQ finish unless it blows out EVERYTHING else with a clean finish....let alone call it the greatest match in North American history. I think the DQ ending worked perfectly for JBL/Eddie and a handful of times elsewhere, but normally, the moment that bell sounds, you hear the crowd groan and rightfully so. Dames
