Probably not, as I literally was the only person to vote for them. More on topic: A very enjoyable show and the tag division is looking great right about now. My match doesn't look too bad, but I'll be damned if it didn't give me more hassle than it really should have.

SWF Storm Card, August 6th!
King Cucaracha replied to the.weej's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
...if that's me then whoops, because I already sent it onto Thoth finished. Brainfart on my part. I'll send it your way anyway, so you can edit it up as you wish and send it on to Thoth with an explanation... -
New Japan Super Cup!?! That is purely awesome.

So Zsasz gets banned, while the scores of drones who can't even spell grammar let alone use it continue to clog up the folder? Maybe it's just me but I'm more bothered by the general lack of literacy of most posters, the endless generic opinions and lame attempts at humour from a lot of posters than I ever was by Zsasz not liking a wrestler that everyone else does. Just seems like a quick fix to try and stop a couple of arguements that come up every now and then, usually involving a certain Mr Benoit.

Booker T/ John Cena at SummerSlam...
King Cucaracha replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
Amen. Nobody is, as far as 95% of this folder is concerned so that's a mute point. Amen to that. -

Booker T/ John Cena at SummerSlam...
King Cucaracha replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
Well, obviously I don't dislike Booker as much as the starter of this thread does...but I agree the matches will be nothing to write home about. Also, STARTING it at Summerslam is a very odd idea. The only way they can salvage this is by giving matches 2 through 5 various stips. These two really can't work 5 seperate singles matches an make them all unique, like we saw with Benoit/Booker or even Hardyz/E&C...and even that needed a ladder match at the end. -
Bump! Changed Bent and Giggs for Johnson (Palace striker) and Stevie Gerrard, leaving me with no United players in the team. No doubt Bent'll be magnificent now. Oh...and Kezman is confirmed as out of games 2, 3 and 4 through suspension.

Not exactly half a year, but bleh. Simple enough. What moments are, for you most memorable from January 2004 to the end of July 2004. Consider it a more informal way of presenting Half Year awards. Basically, talk about the moments you remember. Post exerts. Link to favourite promos or matches. Write reviews of matches that you really liked. Reminise in all the SWF has given us in the past 7 months. There's been plenty. Hell, the fed's been turned on it's head since January. The JL showed up and did little more than nothing for quite a while. Grappler won the Clusterfuck. The World Title changed hands more times than a hot potato. Toxxic came into his own and has recently won the World Championship (although that's technically August). Blazenwing came back. Ejiro and Judge bowed out...but we did get Coy West for a while. Me and Clark had a feud which many thought would never end. Kibs did some stuff. Va'aiga LARIATOOOOOOOOOed everyone into oblivion. The Masked Man did stuff with eggs. Todd Cortez slipped seemlessly from OAOAST to SWF. Wildchild resurrected the Cruiserweight Division before bowing out...for now. Allison ...go ahead. Let's see if this takes off.

I agree. I'm just saying...sometimes, you have to remember what we're doing here. My OAOAST midcarder kicked out of a Zack Malibu Tiger Driver '91, but I only got good reviews for the match. Since then there's been no harm done to Zack, I've gone back to jobber and everyone has likely forgotten about it. If it were here, I wouldn't hear the end of it. I realise this is a totally different fed and everything. But the point is, it shouldn't matter if WC and Sly both use a Lionsault as long as neither of them minds. And to be honest, neither of them really should. We shouldn't really need five or six posts on the matter. There's a line of common sense in e-feds...just like there's a line in anything. No offense to anyone because I know some people take this place very seriously and for good reason. I just feel it goes a little too far sometimes.
-
Eh. Kicked out of one of them in the OAOAST. Nobody kicked up a fuss. Then again, if that happened here... Ah well. *stunners Dace* EDIT: I'm sorry. I of course cannot do that, because it could be seen as an attempt to steal Ace Lezaire's finisher. I humbly apologise and after consulting the list, I will instead place Dace in the Hangman's Clutch. Hopefully he won't no-sell his neck after though

Bubba Ray Dudley. Seriously. He's one of the most effective heels on Smackdown's entire roster. Decent moveset. Sells more often, effectively and consistantly than anyone else his size. Can be funny as hell. A much better knowledge of the minor points of wrestling and physcology than he's ever given credit for. Underrated as far as charisma is concerned also. Add into that the level of improvement he's gone through since ECW (lack of planchas aside) and I always think he's underrated. Without D-Von he's nothing special admitedly. But he never gets mentions and it seems I'm the only one that notices how solid he is.
-
I'm sure he's not far off. After all, wasn't their official reason for demoting him that he has a 'lack of fire in the ring'. That's almost as bad as 'we have nothing for you to do at the moment' in terms of bad excuses.
-
Meh. Aside from possibly the Nastys, Stevie Richards's ECW mullet owns everyone.
-
Not to mention the age old 'it's his finisher because he's perfected it, where as Wildchild hasn't' arguement. And DubCee...I agree, you shouldn't have to change. After all, it's not like Jericho's the only wrestler in North America to use the Lionsault... ...anyone get the feeling we take this place WAY too seriously sometimes?
-
The way I see it, any well respected finishers of previous SWFers/legends should be put on the list so they aren't re-used. If only to avoid the inevitable 3 page thread of arguement. Also, any rare moves that nobody wants using without permission being on the list would help too. However, common sense said you can't block people from doing certain moves. Lionsaults, as WC brought up as an example, aren't all that common in the SWF. But I certainly wouldn't call it a 'specialist' move. Depends how it's booked I suppose. Common sense would have to be used though and blocking a newb from using a Lionsault because WC uses it alot would be pretty drastic. Besides that though, this is a good idea to avoid any immediate finisher clashes. But it shouldn't (always) mean immediate death for using the same move as someone else... Case in point: If I were to use for example Ejiro's old finisher then, as long as he had no problems with it, I wouldn't really see a need for a change. If he had a problem with it though then I'd expect to be asked to change it.
-
Sure. But generally, it was much more effective and fresher during his heel run, because he didn't have to resort to trying to pop or suck up to the crowd.
-
I heartily endorse this statement. When players use their feet for 90% of an American Football game I'll gladly agree. Until then...balls to you. Damn Yanks. On track...I'd read it, certainly. I had thought about doing something myself before but I wondered what sort of readership there'd be on this board. Plus my grammar sucks (readership? That a word?)

Turning Orton heel is completely typical of the WWE and unfortunately, that means I see it happening. As soon as a heel gets face pops Vince panics, turns them and looks to capitalise with all the merchandise he can. And usually, it results in the wrestler's act turning stale. Cena. Rock. Cheat 2 Win Eddie. Edge in 2001 to a certain extent. Austin after the InVasion. The way it's going, Batista will be next on the turn list. Which would probably be a worse idea than turning Orton face.

Eh. Bradshaw and Taker having comedy tendancies is fine by me. JBL's a comedy character and it's not like there's a reason for the feud to be serious. The midget stuff has been done to death and Orlando Jordan with JBL gives him something to do but does little else for anybody. But, it's Bradshaw/Taker. Outside of JBL's heel work I could really give a shit. Cena/Booker might as well be comedic too as that's how it's been built already. The Eddie/Angle feud might as well end now though. Seriously, I'm getting sick of Eddie now. I'm more likely to watch the JBL segment than I am the Eddie segment, which says a lot for how much they've screwed up Eddie's character. At least Angle is getting to be semi-serious. Oh well. Besides the Eddie crap, SD actually looks watchable.

SWF Ground Zero MOTN Voting Thread!
King Cucaracha replied to Dace59's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
I'll go with the Triple Threat Match too, not just because Toxx managed to write a great triple threat but also he managed to get his head around a pretty awkward stip and make it work. That and the fact I can't vote for myself. -
Ground Zero Comments!
King Cucaracha replied to HollywoodSpikeJenkins's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
Yeah...that should have been a normal roll through pin, but for some reason I called it a victory roll anyway. Bleh. And yes, selling ain't my strong point. Still...kudos for reading it and typing all that out man. You're a real service to the fed man. [/end suck-up] -
Yeah. I'm still trying to forget the rumours about Orton, Cade, Jindrak and Maven forming a faction to fight Evolution. Thank god that never happened.
