  1. Well, this thread is just getting silly now. Icebergs can't use the Internet!
  2. Well, it's not like Varitek has really proven his worth in this series anyway. He almost blew the game for the Sox in Game 5 with his lackluster catching with Wakefield - and he pretty much hasn't hit worth a damn in the entire series. I think the Sox should try to take a risk tonight: Pitch Wakefield and put Mirabelli on catcher. Then keep Varitek on reserve just in case. You could either use him as a pinch hitter later on, or replace Mirabelli with Vairtek once they take Wakefield out of the game. Despite the fact that Varitek may catch much better with Lowe than Wakefield, I honestly feel Wakefield would be a much stronger pitcher tonight against the Yanks than Lowe.
  3. Teams Slipping Messily love The Smart Marks.
  4. I honestly don't understand why the Sox are having Lowe start Game 7 instead of Wakefield. For the most part, Wakefield has been pretty decent at stifling the Yankees - why would Francona decide to pitch Lowe instead? I really hope Francona knows something that we don't. I really don't like this situation at all.
  5. Where's he going to pitch? I would think Johnson and Martinez would shove him out of the rotation (mainly, because, apparently we still like Javy) And yes, if we lose, we are getting Johnson and Martinez. If the Yankees ever signed Pedro Martinez, I would be convinced that Steinbrenner has absolutely no morals. For all the trash-talking that Pedro has done against the Yanks, for all the intentional beanballs, for pushing an old man - considered to be somewhat the mascot of the team at the time - down by his head onto the field.....if George ever signed him, I would be fully convinced that the Yanks don't deserve to be World Series champs ever again under the Steinbrenner regime. I mean, really now. Talk about selling out.
  6. Has Downhome in sig Not shilling McMahon again. He IS amazing.
  7. Well, you promised... I call Chandler! "Could this Pay-Per-View BE any more revolutionary?" HAHAHAAHAHA!!
  8. This Surly Man doesn't like The Smart Marks
  9. Dog pee! Dog pee! Dog pee! Dog pee! Tazz just peed on! With dog pee! HA HA! This is only the kind of hilarious stuff you see on Smackdown! Oh Tazz, you look ridiculous! HA HA! Michael Cole watches as David Arquette wins the WWE Championship.
  10. How could the Red Sox possibly waste that opportunity?
  11. It's been 24 hours and STILL no Hoff response? *cracks knuckles* Oh, shit's on now.
  12. It's imperative in the game of baseball that you have both a base and a ball during the course of play. If you do not have either a base or a ball, there's a very good chance that you are not, in fact, playing baseball.
  13. Next week: The 5-0 Jets taking on the 5-0 Patriots to determine first place in their division. Should be exciting.
  14. This Sausage Mixer loves The Smart Marks
  15. Watching this clip for the first time, I just have to say: Tucker Carlson's gradual professional breakdown throughout the Jon Stewart interview was absolutely priceless.
  16. That damn Heidenreich! He better keep my damn BUTT away from that fist! He could get a finger caught in there! Cole trying to show Carlito that he is, in fact, cool.
  17. Well, considering that Hoff really wanted me to leave "Beff bak", I figured now would be a good time to post it. -Really good opening segment with Hoff and Crystal. I liked Hoff bragging about his win over Crystal, only to be quickly put back in his place. Last week's Hoff/Crystal match, coupled with the interview from this week, has done a lot to build up a hot, original story to this match. Was Hoff simply off last week or does hehave the ability to wrestle better against Crystal? Was his rollup pin just a fluke, or was there intelligence behind it? Is he going to cave under the pressure of his first PPV World Title match or is he going to actually shake off his nerves and win the title? Great stuff being built here for the PPV. -AMAZING coverup for the Gunner/Rodez match. Except it looks so familiar - jeez, whoever came up with that dialogue is a friggin genius. -Interesting concept with the Tag Team analysis. This week's focus on GPX seemed to be spot-on as far as their personalities and their weaknesses go. -Great segment with Axel/Ragdoll/Zack in the back. I loved the still-present tension between Zack and Ragdoll, and it successfully built the stage for Ragdoll's actions later on. -Surprising, yet sensical, heel turn from Chris Stevens. To me, it finally feels like this guy has found the jealous, egotistical personality he had brewing in him the entire time. I like how the HI-YAH updates have intertwined into this angle, and it actually makes sense that Stevens would be disgusted over getting pushed to the side for events happening halfway across the globe. I really can't wait to see where this whole thing goes. -I like where this Saints/Chicks Over Dicks scenario has led. The Trick or Treat match sounds really intriguing....even if I don't quite understand what the hell it involves yet. Holly has actually shown herself to be quite an interesting character, because she has this level of unpredictability to her. She's perfectly able to deal with arguments from the Saints and her record company, but actually gets somewhat homicidal when someone touches her. Crazy! I honestly have no idea where her match with Alix will go, and that's a good thing. -Incredible stuff with the Tag Team division. Seriously. From the funny interview with GPX in the back to the hilarious repeating commentary from Jim Ross, the humor here worked incredibly well. Yet, it didn't overshadow the drama of what was happening here. That was just a sickeningly brutal beatdown the NNMX gave to Hell's Hitmen. The carving of "MX" onto the Sadist's forehead is just insane. The rage that Jingus and the Sadist showed afterwards was just amazing as well. Everything here was really fantastic. -Nice backstage segment with Thrillogy. I love the growing tension between Zack and Hoff, and it's interesting to see how Calvin is trying his best to play the neutral middleman. I said it before and I'll say it again.....well, I probably didn't say it before, but it doesn't matter since I'm saying it now.....this relationship between Zack and Hoff doesn't seem like it's built to last. I wouldn't be surprised to see someone get kicked out of the group in the upcoming weeks. Great drama continuing to build here. -Good stuff with Black T and the Love Doctors. It's nice to see the Docs finally get a personality, and actually seize an opportunity at the HIYAH Tag Titles. Will it lead anywhere? Probably not. Still good to see anyway. The match itself was fun, with Black T actually looking like they were being challenged with this upstart tag team. Perhaps this is just my opinion, but I think Los Infernales's rundown at the end of the match was pure coincidence, rather than on cue. If it were on cue, then that could mean wrestling is staged. And, as we all know, that just isn't true. Anyway, again, good stuff here leading into the HIYAH Tag Title match at World Without End. -Fine opening vignette from the Phenom. It didn't say a whole lot, but it definitely made the character mysterious, and it built up a good sense of anticipation for his debut at W.W.E. -Shocking heel turn from Ragdoll. Well, not too shocking, since I knew about it already. But if I hadn't known about it, I would surely have thought it to be shocking. The turn was just done incredibly well, partly in thanks to the segments between Ragdoll and Axel earlier in the night to establish their friendship. Drinking gasoline and spitting out a fireball? Insane. I can't wait to see what Axel does to retaliaite against the guy he actually brought back into the OAOAST. And is there a connection between Ragdoll and Zack now, despite the fact that they've disliked each other for a while now? Time will tell, I'm sure. -Finally, great Main Event between Panther and the Mad Cappa. The layout was entertaining, the match itself had a crazy amount of action, and the slow heelish antics from Cappa throughout the process of the match were handled extremely well. As a whole, I must say, I'm completely thrilled with how the Round Robin tournament turned out. KC, Papa, LPYC, Adam, and Cappa all did amazing jobs with this, and I thank them for putting forth so much effort. The concept seemed a little difficult to pull off at first - to remain consistent with the point totals and the match schedules every week - but it was pulled off almost flawlessly. I'm honestly thankful that the people involved in this Round Robin tourney worked so hard on it, and I'm 100% pleased with how it turned out. Awesome job everyone. I really do mean that. There Hoff, there's your damn BEFF-BAK!! It's up to you now to feedback the show. Whether it's drunk Hoff or sober Hoff, I'll leave that up to you. Just make sure to include a lot of positive things about the Drek/Blurricane match. Constructive criticism be damned, I want compliments!
  18. Look at this damn cheese grater. Come on ref, turn around! This isn't right! This meeting between the grater and Bubba Ray Dudley has turned into a hundred-on-one affair on Bubba's taste buds, and it's not right. Damn that cheese grater! Damn him! John Cena rapping about Rene Dupree being gay - again.
  19. Oh Christ, I hope there are better things to get offended about than that. In that speech, Edwards was implying that Bush wasn't doing as much as he could in the field of stem cell research - which he hasn't. The money that Bush has set towards stem cells is not enough to thoroughly research the subject. It's there to quiet the critics, giving Bush something to point to and say "See, I have put some money towards stem cells", but the funding is relatively useless. There really isn't enough cash there to get serious work done. The platform that Kerry and Edwards are running on is that, if they are elected, they will put more money towards stem cell research. There is no set guarantee that people like Christopher Reeve will be cured by these stem cells - but there will be more research done under the Kerry/Edwards administration than the Bush/Cheney one, simply because there will be more funds attributed TO that research. Sure, stem cells might not cure these terrible diseases - but what if they do? Kerry and Edwards, by putting a sizeable amount of money in the project, would be more likely to find out the answer. Rather than Bush and Cheney, who are inching their way into the topic, purely to minimally satisfy those that are calling for it instead of on the basis for their own interest. I said this in the previous thread. Was the speech that Edwards made about curing Parkinson's, Juvenile Diabetes, etc. dumb? Probably so. Was it something to get offended over? God, I hope not. There are so many other things in the world to get adamantly upset over instead of that comment.
  20. With that Reeve comment, I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about Downhome, who said a few days ago that Edwards' comments "sickened him to the core." I thought it was ridiculously dramatic then. My opinion hasn't changed since.
  21. Hoff should post drunk all the time. He makes more sense that way.
  22. I just can't resist when you start getting all poetic.
  23. Ah, kudos to you as well. You managed to leave yet another unneeded sarcastic comment, just to continue to prove your irreplaceable worth in this folder. Both men have told nontruths - I wouldn't go as far as to call them lies yet - on important issues, in order to try to hurt the credibility of their opponent. Color me shocked. You completely skipped over that point just so you could continue to paint your misinformed picture that John Kerry is, indeed, Satan. Congratulations. You did exactly what I expected of you.
  24. Hilarious. I just love how melodramatic some people get over certain issues that barely deserve drama in the first place. Edwards mentioning Reeve's death: "It sickened me to the core" Kerry mentions Bush supporting the draft: "The Democratic party can burn in hell" I really hope some of these comments are said in jest, because otherwise they are not just depressing but incredibly alarming as well. I doubt either man supports a draft. When Kerry says that Bush could support a movement on the draft, it may very well not be true. But on the grand scale of lies, it's comparable to Bush saying that Kerry has only passed five bills on health care - trying to prove that Kerry has absolutely no experience with the issue of health care - when Kerry has passed 56 individual bills he has written himself, along with signing off on various amendment bills. This is comparable to Cheney saying that his debate with Edwards was the first time he has ever met the man, despite the fact that there is photographic evidence he's already met him at least three times. There are lies and half-truths being told from both parties. To single out one party for mudslinging on an important issue - like the military - while ignoring the other party for mudslinging on an important issue - like health care - is just irresponsible. Kerry saying that Bush supports the draft isn't fair, because it isn't true. Bush saying that Kerry has no experience with health care bills - and Cheney trying to make an untrue point about Edwards' "excessive" absences in the Senate - aren't fair, because they aren't true either. Just accept the campaigns for what they are, instead of retaliating in these threads with a ridiculously absurd, biased response. We seem to be getting more of them lately as the election gets closer.
  25. I'm insulted that you would dare speak for me. Oh, you just wait until Drek Stone and Hoff surely engage in fisticuffs in November. You just wait!
