  1. I don't see NM or CO going for Kerry. And I think Bush can probably count on getting Iowa as well.
  2. The Washington Post with a panel of "experts" (from Tucker Carlson to Anne Coulter to Kojo Nnamdi) predicting the outcomes of the election: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/opini...stalBall04.html My prediction: Bush wins: 277 electoral votes, 49% popular vote, Kerry: 261 electoral votes, 48.5% popular vote. Whoa.....after looking at that link, I'd have to say that for those predicting a Bush win, Coulter & Kristol are ridiculously optimistic; for those predicting a Kerry win, Donna Brazil and Kojo are also exceptionally ridiculous in terms of by how much they expect their candidate to win. I think your prediction is probably very close to what will actually happen, Slapnuts. We haven't mentioned the Congressional races that much, I think. I personally see the Republicans probably gaining a couple seats (but certainly maintaining no less than the majority they now have) in the Senate, and I see them picking up a few House seats as well, to ensure that even if Kerry somehow wins he's rendered good and impotent right from the start......and unlike Clinton, he won't have the charisma or force of personality to do anything about it.
  3. That doesn't make sense though. She was demanding 60 million from Fox just a couple of weeks ago. Why would she suddenly buckle and probably take a pitance in a settlement? Because in the vast majority of these cases, all the plaintiff is looking for is a settlement.
  4. Nah, it'd simply be four more years of Bush/Cheney. -=Mike ...Bush will win 52% of the vote, at least. He'll get 300 EV at least... Here's what I don't get - why would we wind up with Bush & EDWARDS?! The Republicans have control of the Senate now by....what? At least 51-49. If they have a majority, why would they choose Edwards? Hell, even if it was a 50-50 split, Cheney is the deciding vote, and fat chance he's going to vote against himself. How is that scenario even possible? BTW, I agree with Mike that Bush will win but I'm not as optimistic on the vote totals. I think it'll be 51% popular and somewhere in the 280s electoral.
  5. You know, sometimes I think to myself, "We just don't have enough rampant idiocy here in the Current Events folder. After all, INXS is just one man..." And then my prayers are answered, and a new one of these types of posters pops up. Thank you, Jesus.

    SAW/Ray

I haven't seen either yet, but I wanted to ask those who saw "Ray": do you think Foxx will get an Oscar nod for the film? Cause the thought that he might sort of blows my mind, considering I first remember him as one of the guys on "In Living Color" with the Wayans.
  7. Other. There are at least four or so other games that I want before the ones listed here.
  8. I'll probably give this one a look, though I thought House was fucking AWFUL. But I'm willing to give Rob another chance.
  9. Please. I've got my dance shoes out and all shined up, and I'm ready to dance an Ashley Simpson-style jig once this evil old bastard croaks.
  10. I want to compliment you and Mike for bringing up O&A, since they are far, far better than Howard Stern is, or perhaps ever was. And by bringing them up, you also bring up Stern's own hypocrisy. He's not exactly the one who should be complaining about censorship, seeing as he was able to quite effectively censor O&A and several other DJs for a long time - hell, O&A weren't even allowed to say Stern's own NAME on their show.
  11. Michael Cole: "It's been a number of years since we had a traditional Survivor Series match." Uh, last year, douche?
  12. Oh my God......Big Show as an Orion slave.
  13. Why don't they go ahead and include Hiroko in these Diva things? Smackdown has all of 3 divas, might as well throw her into the mix as well.
  14. The real question Powell should be asked: how come he fines Stern and not the Stern "clones", when the Stern clones, quite frankly, are about 100 times funnier and more innovative than Stern is (or has been for a good 5 years).
  15. "if" -> "when" Given the way that the electoral votes are falling at the moment (not even going into rumors that Kerry is pulling out of Florida), Bush winning is becoming a greater possibility by the day. You sure about that? Based upon the polls and the fact that the Democrats are now hanging ALL of their hopes on how many people they can persuade to actually vote - yeah, I think he has reason to be sure.
  16. Quite frankly, I openly advocate for every one of these schmucks who no-sold Show to get "the Holly treatment" next week. They deserve no less.
  17. His next film is attacking medicine. Stories are already popping up that he's hiring actors to portray pharmaceutical representatives. -=Mike You and I both know that if that's true and he's called on it, he'll mumble for a moment then come back with "Well, my films are meant to be satires..." and it won't matter a bit to his fans.
  18. I don't think people are downplaying it so much as pointing out that these weapons were stolen months ago, rather than just recently, which is very much what the NYT and CBS pieces implied. If they were stolen months ago, it just falls under the "This war was badly mismanaged" criticism, which we all have heard ad nauseum and at this point have formed opinions on, either sympathetic or not to the administration. If this story had come out on Sunday - as was CBS' original intent - then the confusion that it would have caused (again, with the implication that the weapons suddenly disappeared RECENTLY rather than were stolen MONTHS ago), than it would have been more damaging to Bush. As it is, I think the story's self-destructing, and if anything, could hurt Bush's opposition.
  19. I don't know. Personally, I think if they make his catchphrase be "It don't matta to Jesus!", they could have something.
  20. Which one? I guess if I had to choose, I'd cheer for the Miz, but only because he's the one who's the most anti- what the WWE is looking for. Which means he doesn't stand a chance in hell of winning.
  21. Man, these are tough. Number 5 - I'm almost certain that this one is "Deadly Friend", an 80s Wes Craven flick starring Kristy Swanson. http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0090917/
  22. I'm sure I'll get a lot of folks disagreeing with me on this, but this is my opinion: Dawn of the Dead (original) vs. Dawn of the Dead (2004 remake). The original works quite well as a social commentary / satire. However, as a HORROR film, the remake completely blows it out of the water. I'm actually quite fond of the remake....I'll probably wind up picking up a copy of it this week once it's released tomorrow.
  23. I think so, but I'm sure there are plenty of fools who still believe that when he does leave and the keys to the empire are given to HHH that Hunter will "do what's right for the business", even though he hasn't done so yet.
  24. So Orton is barred forever from challenging HHH for the Title. Forever, of course, lasting until the next PPV.
  25. Cue the generic rock music! It's RANDY ORTON!
