  1. Ahem. Next time, learn the facts before opening your big fat yap. You MIGHT look a little less like a fucking idiot. Although I sincerely doubt it.
  2. Be ye not deceived. Two things are likely to happen. One or the other will, I'm sure, maybe both. 1.) One of the deceased kids parents will wind up suing someone like Manson, or Rockstar, etc. 2.) When the inevitable Congressional hearings on the video game industry occur (and they will, at some point), some congressman, sadly likely to be a Republican, will bring up this shooting in relation to violence in video games, even though there is absolutely no connection apparent.
  3. Acevada is all kinds of fucked in the head. It's a great callback to previous seasons, though, because didn't it come up (back when he was running in the primaries) that he had previously been accused of sexually assaulting some woman?
  4. Well, be forewarned that at least the first 5 minutes of next week's show is going to be devoted to a Leben emotional breakdown. Oh, is the little pussy going to cry about his SECOND loss? Seriously, just sew up your fucking vagina. Sad thing is, I don't despise Leben so much as I do Dana White for trying to give the little shit a god push.
  5. The what? He's referring to the part of the first film in which the Goblin tosses Mary Jane off of the bridge (and gives Spider-Man the choice of saving her or saving a group of New Yorkers), which any modest Spider-Man fan can tell you is an aping of the landmark Spidey issue in which Gwen Stacy dies (same deal, she gets thrown off the bridge, but Gwen didn't wind up so fortunate).
  6. Beetle somehow survived an ass-kicking by Doomsday - so I'd be chagrined if they off him here.
  7. Then I'm happy. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
  8. Because as I said in my earlier post, he was putting on pretty damn good matches every night. Although with great talent, who could carry just about anyone (Benoit, RVD, Benjamin, Edge)... One of these things is most definitely NOT like the others.
  9. Wouldn't that be hearsay, and thus inadmissible? Hearsay evidence is, in certain instances, relevant and admissible. In this case, I'm assuming that the hearsay evidence in question is offered to impeach the testimony of the prosecution's witness.
  10. If he does become the Green Goblin, though, I'd have no complaints. It'd be a nice nod to the comic fans, as such a storyline would definitely be consistent with the actual source material.
  11. One of his exact quotes: Fuck him. I'm a bit surprised, though - surprised he hasn't brought up the race card, YET, as he's been quick to do it every other time.
  12. Goddamn you. I just spit soda all over my fucking monitor.
  13. Man, why is it always nazis with these schmucks?
  14. I heard this is the last movie No way. Sony wants to do NINE Spider-Man movies. It wouldn't surprise me if this was the last one Raimi does, though. This franchise is a huge cash cow for pretty much anyone involved - no way it'd end after just three movies. You're right, though, this may be the last film that Raimi's involved with - and probably the last one starring the current cast. But Marvel et al wouldn't DREAM of letting the franchise die. Shit, the success of the first film was a huge factor in helping Marvel recover economically.
  15. Wait, I've just been reading the thread - is Leben gone again? If so, I can end my boycott and resume watching.

    Soul Calibur III

As long as Voldo remains, I will be happy.
  17. Yes and no. Read up on the JSA series (which is actually quite good) - Black Adam has become somewhat Punisher-esque, in the sense that while he combats evil, his philosophy of doing it is by slaughtering the bad guys as necessary (essentially making him an anti-hero). It's something that has put him severely at odds with the rest of the JSA, and led to some interesting subplots (especially as Atom Smasher has sort of turned heel and joined him in his crusade).
  18. Wait, Candido is only 33? ...... ......SHIT. Goddamn, those drugs really fuck up a guy, huh?
  19. Ahem. Sometimes only pictures can adequately express one's words on a matter. Therefore:
  20. Oh, so it's just like every other HHH promo for the past two years.
  21. Not that I'm picking on you or anything, but generally I would like to think that those that make racist jokes or comments have an understanding of other races. You know, like they make the culture a bit of themselves, something like that? I only say this because when come off as whitey mcwhiterson. EDIT: Just wanted to take out something where I accidentally put in that you're a racist, which I am fairly certain that you aren't. Just that something like this is offensive especially right after the event happens, and comes off pretty ignorant. Hey, I laughed at the joke. Sometimes we need a little humor in these trying times. And just so you don't get all upset with me, I'm actually part Native American, so I suppose it makes it "okay" for me to chuckle at his joke.
  22. That is EXACTLY the problem. I'm surprised that, of all the issues that people get riled up about these days, that this isn't the one that outrages people the most. If anyone is interested in this topic, please watch Lou Dobbs every weeknight. He's good for covering this issue for at least half of his program.
  23. Boy, that doesn't sound prejudiced. "All these damn Latinos just won't go away! I guess I better get the hell outta Dodge before they get all uppity or something." Oh, you know me well enough to know when I'm joking. Although truthfully I'm going to be mighty pissed if I turn 70 and have to relearn Spanish just to converse in the public discourse.
  24. It was a dumb remark by Boxer. There, I've just created a consensus we can all agree upon, instead of spending another three pages arguing the semantics of exactly why her remark was stupid.
  25. People keep saying that. And no matter how many times it is said, it still reeks of justification every time it's uttered. Here's a hypo: what if she COULD feel pain? Not necessarily cognizant of her surroundings, etc., but she could feel pain, thus ensuring that starvation would be a slow and agonizing death for her. Would your opinion then change? Again - it just seems as if people are using the "well, she won't feel anything" as a justification for the fact that starvation is very much a bad way to go. But wait - she doesn't feel anything anyway, so how is it torture? For that matter, who fucking cares if we let her live? I mean, she doesn't know any better at this point. It's not as if she's going to object. I mean hell, we could tie strings to her limbs and have her perform in a marionette show, she won't care. I mean, she doesn't feel anything, so that makes it okay, you know? Where have you been? The parties have changed roles in the past few years. Another example: Republicans pulling for federal legislation (i.e. a Constitutional amendment) over gay marriage, and Democrats arguing it's a state's rights issue. The parties have shifted a bit in recent memory from their previous positions on state's rights. I agree. Well, not about being pro-euthanasia and pro-right to die. Very much opposed to those ideologies. But my problem with this case from the very beginning is that there is absolutely nothing to prove that she wanted to die other than the assertions of her husband (who may or may not be an entirely trustworthy witness, depending upon your point of view). Second-hand statements of what HE says she wanted may be good enough in some situations, but really, as Mike mentioned, when it comes to life and death it ain't good enough. Not even close.
