What Rose did was worse. Rose associated with gamblers, and gambled on baseball games. This undermines the integrity of the game. Cheating is discouraged, but McGwire did not break baseball's rules, and at the core, he was still trying to win. Are you shitting me? Integrity of the game? That's hilarious. MLB has no room to bitch: They've known about the steroid abuse for years (or, at BEST, they've had a "don't ask, don't tell" policy going on) - they just don't fucking care. That was the best part about the hearings of the past week, it helped to really emphasize the point that MLB baseball did absolutely NOTHING to combat steroids in the game until the pressure on them to do so was astronomical, and even then they managed to fuck that up by giving the most pussy punishments they could conceive. And as a result of all of their bullshit, they've turned the entire sport into a fucking joke. You cannot sit there and tell me that what Pete Rose did in any way, shape or form has hurt the industry more than what the industry itself has done to itself by not giving a flying fuck that a sizable number of their players (possibly even a MAJORITY) have been juicing over the years. Man. If Rose had some REAL balls, the next time a reporter asked him about being in the Hall of Fame, he should calmly point out the incredible hubris of MLB keeping him out of the HoF while being completely unable - and unwilling - to get their own shit together.

Fuck, DiBiase should just be the one to give Volkoff's introduction speech. I normally don't give a shit about this HoF bullshit, but if DiBiase were to show up, in Million $ Man character, and talk about how he still owned Volkoff, etc, I might actually be tempted to buy whatever crummy DVD of this thing they happen to slap together.

I WISH this was a thread about gay porn.

I don't care how flat-chested Gwen Stefani is. I would do awful, awful sexually deviant things to her. And maybe if you're good, I'd even let you watch.

I'm actually quite happy about this. I think the WWE should consider a Rockers tag title run (because honestly, the tag division is a wasteland, and a Rockers run would liven things up a bit, if only briefly), but if Marty's fate is to become a Heat worker, is that really so bad? The guy looks to have gotten himself into shape and did pretty good work in the ring from what I saw this past week. I wouldn't mind watching him work matches on Heat against guys like Richards, or Venis, or Simon Dean, etc., as they'd likely be pretty decent.

And yet another CE thread devolves into a dick-waving contest between Mike and insert-liberal-here.

Kill Bill vol. 1 - 6.5 I'd never seen this before, even though it's been hyped to death to me by virtually everyone I know who's seen it. And can I say? Decent enough action flick, but overall, GREATLY OVERRATED. I don't know, maybe after I've seen vol. 2, my opinion will change a little, but by and large I wasn't too impressed. Enjoyed it, but not nearly as good as I was expecting it to be considering who made it.

As awesome as I think Sin City looks, I'm actually very afraid that it won't be #1. The way things work in this country, "Beauty Shop" which opens the same day, will open as number one, with Sin City in second place. Don't act like it can't happen. This IS the nation that inexplicably made "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" number one for a week.

Mexico finally speaks out on illegal immigration
Vyce replied to kkktookmybabyaway's topic in Current Events
There's evidence, yes. I think one of the groups who's responsible for helping terrorists into the country is MaraSalvatrucha, aka MS-13, one of the more violent and notorious Latin gangs in the country. I live in Northern VA, and those fuckers are EVERYWHERE around here. I believe the estimates are realistically more of that happening around 2050 or so. Hopefully, forty-five years from now, when I'm pushing 70, I'll have made my fortunes and shall be able to peacefully relocate somewhere else. -
ALL of Arnold's 80s action flicks are great for their corny, dumb quotes, but that movie in particular might be the best of them all for Arnold quotes.

I'll admit, I found this funny. Partly for the language, which was so over the top it was amusing. And partly because of the YuGiOh slash reference. That alone earns it a thumbs up.

Well, I'm sure that Terry told him it was okay to do all of those things. She probably said, "Honey, if I ever go into a persistent vegitative state, please keep me alive long enough to get a shitload of money out of whatever malpractice claims may arise. And oh yeah - it's okay to shack up with someone new." I do not know for sure, but I would imagine that it would vary depending upon what jurisdiction you're in. Honestly, I'm not ENTIRELY up-to-speed on this case, so I'm not sure if this is a situation in which he already has power of attorney and the parents are fighting it or what. Again, though, if he doesn't, or there wasn't any documentation giving him power of attorney - sorry, I'm not going to side with him. The only positive outcome out of this whole situation will be, as you hoped, that more people put these things in writing. If they don't, I'm of the opinion that such decisions should not be made simply based on one's recollection. If it's not in SOME documented form - in writing, or audio / videotape recording, etc., than tough titties.

Lucas to Release Star Wars 3-D films in 2007
Vyce replied to pochorenella's topic in Television & Film
Totally agree. I haven't bought the recently released trilogy set on DVD, and I absolutely REFUSE to do so, because it's the "special edition" bullshit. The rumor I heard way back when was that he was going to release all of the films in 2007 in one big DVD box set - including the originals. Until he finally DOES release the original versions on DVD, the SOB gets none of my money. -
Which is why I support her parents here. If there isn't any documented living will - if all we have to go on is just the word of her husband - than the feeding tube shouldn't be removed. Decisions as important as allowing someone to die shouldn't be made up based solely upon what MAY have been said by this woman at some point in the past.

I don't -- wipe those little bastards out before they exit the womb. Did I tiptoe over the line on that one?... When I read kkk's post, my blood ran cold. I said a prayer......wait, didn't we alredy do this joke?

I have another one. "Tetsuo - the Iron Man". It's not really a horror flick (it's very, very bizarre, though), but it's incredibly gory and graphic and it really unsettled me. The first five minutes in particular, where the metal-phile slices his leg open and inserts that screw, and we cut to a few days later when he takes off the bandage and the wound is all infected and crawling with maggots. Totally cringe-worthy.

"It" is great; it might be the scariest North American made-for-tv movie / miniseries ever. GREAT work by Curry as Pennywise. Tons of chilling moments in that series. "That's right, Ralphie. They float. And when you're down here with us, you'll float too." I noticed Deon brought up the Exorcist, as I knew someone would. See, that film NEVER scared me. I know a lot of people view it as the scariest movie of all time, but it never really struck me as scary at all. Except in one regard: the deleted scene, which I suppose was restored for some special director's cut a little while back, that has Regan "spider-walking" down the stairs. THAT shit was off the fucking wall terrifying. BTW, has anyone here (perhaps our British members) seen either "Ghostwatch" or "The Stone Tape"? I'm dying to get my hands on a copy of each on DVD.

We're doing some things right, but we're doing some things wrong as well. Thanks to our dependency on the clown, the king, the jack, the colonel, and the smiling yellow star, some nutritionists are predicting that very soon a generation will arrive that won't outlive it's parents. Keep in mind I enjoy cheeseburgers myself, so I'm not advocating hippie granola or anything, but it's becoming a very real threat, and one that's local to America. However, when faced with the light of other countries that don't hit the chain restaurants as hard as we do, yes, those claims that we need to start living like scavengers don't really hold up. Then Jesus Christ, what the fuck is WRONG with America? I went on a diet about a year ago. Cut out all of the really bad shit I used to eat. Know what happened? I lost SEVENTY pounds. Now, I pretty much never eat McDonalds, or Burger King, or KFC, etc. I eat out maybe ONCE a week, and then if it's fast food it's usually at a sub place or some place where I can eat a reasonable meal. I plan out my meals so that I don't go crazy with my food intake, and you know what? It's goddamn easy. Please don't tell me that our future generations are doomed because they're too fucking lazy to exercise or actually cook & eat healthy meals rather than simply chown down on the greasy shit they sell at McD's. God, how I fucking hate fat people.

I don't really feel Candyman is a *scary* horror flick, but if one has never seen it, I'd recommend it. Because scary or not, it's a GOOD horror flick. Very well done, with good acting and plenty of thrills. I just saw Audition a few weeks back. Good flick, but again, not really scary. Disturbing at the end, there. I'd have to pick "Ringu" (i.e. the original Japanese version of "The Ring"). That movie did it for me. The original Shining as well; not so much so now, but when I was a kid, absolutely.

Joss Whedon confirmed for Wonder Woman movie
Vyce replied to pochorenella's topic in Television & Film
Thankfully, this is Wonder Woman, a comic book property that I don't give two shits about. Otherwise, I might be upset. Oh, and I'm with starvenger: any one of you Whedon fanatics who actually thinks that "Serenity" is going to be any sort of success at the box office, you're out of your fucking mind. I'm talking SCARY delusional. -
name one. Cash Money Millionaires #1 Stunna.... Thier first video was about look at all my money. All of their videos are about look at my money. THE RECORD LABEL IS CASH MONEY RECORDS. what are they supposed to show. Yeah, cut the brothas some slack. They came form the worst slums in New Orleans, didn't have shit. So now you give them some money - what the fuck else are they gonna rap about?

That website is utterly useless.

Not in this case it doesn't. The faculty wants Summers to be FIRED because he dared to speculate on something that they find politically unpopular. Now, I may not be reading all of the facts correctly, but from what I understand them to be, all of this uproar is about comments this guy made, when those comments in question actually seem to be SUPPORTED by the existing research. In which case, everyone at Harvard seems to be more than willing to stick their heads in the sands over this controversy simply because what he said offends their sensibilities.

Still gonna see it. Still probably going to love it.

Problem is: They CAN'T do it. WWE owns the rights. -=Mike Well, they can't CALL it "War Games", but they can still do the match. The WWE hardly owns the copyright to the particular style of match. BTW, for those who've seen it, how was the MLW war games match, quality wise? I think ROH sells that tape and I've been debating buying it.
