I've been reading the new Invaders comic, but I'm not feeling it that much, probably because it seems as if I'm losing a LOT because I don't really know the backstory on.....just about all of these characters (outside of Namo). Current fave: Gotham Central.

Cena is, arguably, the most over face on the entire Smackdown roster. Of all the guys on that roster who aren't yet in the main event (or in some cases, who are in it now), Cena really should be the top face.

This looks even worse than I imagined it to be.

So here's a question: Has Batman: The Animated Series ruined all future Batman cartoons? I believe so. B:TAS was a fairly good translation of the comic book, while shows like "The Batman" seem like someone took the story of Batman and make it more accessible to kids. In other words, they water it down and make it flashier than neccessary. All Batman cartoons? I don't think so. Just the really bad ones. Which is the category this falls into. Seriously, this show is shit, and it just smacks me as a poor attempt by WB to market the character to a younger audience. But it's a failure. They should have looked to the TMNT cartoon. It's been marketed fairly successfully to the kiddies, AND they've managed to keep it relatively faithful to the comic as well.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I think Marvel should hire Rucka to write 80% of their books instead of Bendis. I just recently read Rucka's entire run of Gotham Central this weekend, and I'm fucking HOOKED. And he could definitely bring a more adult feel to the Marvel titles.

I enjoyed both Nightfire AND Agent Under Fire. If this is somewhere along those lines, I'll pick it up.

Jesus, why? ENOUGH has been done for Taker. Far, far more than he EVER should have received. Who should win: Cena. He "needs" it more than Orton. Who will win: Orton, of course.

Not sure. I'm still wanting for the day the US realizes we need firewood and looks at Canada. Cause you know the day is coming. In an amusing twist, I'm watching "South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut" right now on Comedy Central.

Holy crackers, a Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters reference! Never thought I'd see one of THOSE here. That show quite possibly might have been one of the worst ever made. Ever. Anyway, back on topic: This DVD set has been a long time coming. I'm hoping it does well enough for them to release Season 2 as well, because when the series hit the "City of Stone" arc it began to kick 18 different kinds of ass.

Oh Shannon. Not even the punk attire and tattoos can butch you up, my sweet.

A Heroscape commercial! The inner geek in me squeals!

What is this "Akio is a movie star" shit that Josh always spews? Has Yang done some films that we don't know about?

He's not ready for TV yet. He's got to spend a few months in OVW, first, to be taught to forget everything he does that makes him compelling.

Which is why he shouldn't even come CLOSE to being considered one of the greatest Americans. Sorry, I kind of take this one personally. My maternal ancestors are Georgia Cherokees, who specifically got laid waste to by Jackson and his policies. The man was responsible for the Trail of Tears, which is the closest thing the American government has ever done to state-sanctioned genocide. I agree with the inclusion of Robert E. Lee, though. Probably one of the (if not THE greatest) military minds this country ever produced, and in general a good and honest man who's memory has been somewhat besmirched by history revisionists simply because he fought for the wrong side in the war. Wasn't Lee really something of an abolitionist himself? Though he fought for the South, I know that he was no real fan of slavery.

Yeah, really. That's fucking insane.....it'd be like me including Hulk Hogan on a list of "Greatest Americans".

What's happening at Marvel? Basically, Marvel has signed certain, what I like to call "star" writers, to their titles. The "stars" range from Joss Whedon & JMS, to Brian Michael Bendis, to Warren Ellis, to Chris Claremont. And, basically, the Marvel editors are basically letting them do whatever the fuck they want to do with the titles & characters. A few examples: Gwen Stacy having some kids with Norman Osborne (JMS), Colossus coming back from the dead for no good reason (other than to make Joss Whedon's X-men debut flashy), and the mess that was "Avengers Disassembled" (Bendis' handiwork). I'm worried that DC is starting to head down the same path, what with Identity Crisis (which is not as egregious as "Disassembled", but for good or bad they've permanently changed the dynamic of the Justice League, at the least, and made some of their superheroes a LOT less heroic.

That's the most frustrating thing about this godawful contest. Puder is the only one of these mooks who pretty much deserves to win, but at least half of the others will get developmental deals just because of their size & look.

Is this the one where RVD refuses to shake the Eliminators hands at the end? Is the only RVD/Sabu vs Eliminators match I've seen. Wow, you just brought up a memory of an old Sabu / RVD vs. Eliminators match I used to have on tape. It was when they were first starting out as a team....they were running the "these two guys don't really like each other, but they're teaming up for a common purpose" or some such angle, and they had a match against the Eliminators that aired on the old, OLD ECW TV show (the one that was syndicated to like, the public access channels on the East Coast). The match ran about 30 minutes or so in length and, literally, had about 84 near falls. I shit you NOT. There was a ten minute segment there where each team took turns murdering the other side dead, only to have them kick out at the last minute. There were SO MANY near-falls that it actually killed the match for me. I mean, ECW was what it was, but a guy can only watch someone survive about 19 chair shots. When they kick out AGAIN after the TWENTIETH chair shot, you just sort of lose me.

As was pointed out earlier in this thread, if he had gone after Suzuki, he'd likely have come out on the losing end. It's only a matter of time, a la Brock, before Holly picks on the wrong guy again and he'll get his ass handed to him. One can only pray that that time is soon, and when it happens it'll be for good.

Curse Ashton Kutcher and his distortion of the word!
-
Hopefully, as soon as possible.

I think it's cause he got punked in two threads recently. This being one of them. I think it'd be a shame if he left, honestly, but if he wants to act that way, fine. It all seems rather Bill O'Reilly-ish to me - what with the ability to deal out punishment but not take it in return.
-
Yeah, but look at them now, though. Ugh. From this list? Gretsky. For serious. And if I couldn't vote for Gretsky, I'd vote for Wolverine. Cause outside of Wayne, Logan trumps all these other losers.

At this point, I have to figure his body has built an immunity to the stuff.
