Yeah, I mean $100 per 20gig with what's on the market right now. But I just think it's retarded that they'd be marketed as the 40gig PS3 vs the 80gig PS3 (although I know there's other, probably unnoticeable, differences) which infers a $200 difference mainly due to a 40GB increase in HD space when you can buy a freakin 750 gigabyte SATA hard drive for under $200.
-
I love how all the models are differentiated by the size of their hard disks. As if a 40, 60, and 80 gigabytes would actually make a fucking $100 difference between each one.

I'm thinking that the next gen DS (or Gameboy or whatever) will have internal storage capacity and there will be a different online "Virtual Handheld" store to buy classic games from. Or you'll be able to sync it with the Wii/Wii2 and transfer from there. At least I think that would be a good idea to do.

Wow, I just looked that movie up and it's either going to be a gigantic terrible train wreck or so fucked up that it's awesome. Isn't Sarah Michelle Gellar a relatively big draw? I seem to remember some pretty bad movies of hers making more money than they should have. I may be wrong here though.

Dude are you fucking stupid or something? Nothing that Apple has EVER done has been wrong. Nothing that Apple will EVER do will be wrong. Apple are the smartest peoples in history and you'd have to be some conformist living a pathetic life with products NOT created by the divine force that is Apple to object to anything they'd do. You must just be jealous that Microsoft doesn't have an awesome phone out and I'm thoroughly convinced that you are sucking off Bill Gates right now.* *This comment brought to you by 90% of the Mac owners I've ever met. But seriously, Gizmodo has the best commentary on this. It's not just the bricking of hacked phones (which people should have expected, even if it is a shitty thing for them to do) that is the big problem. I believe that with these high end smart phones the best way to go is to have them as open as possible with lots of 3rd part development, like with Nokia or RIM. However, that is definitely not the Steve Jobs way. But whatever, the 'people like flashy stuff over features' philosophy has worked pretty well for them so far in the consumer electronics field.

Oh man, even these days Liam is still awesome.

Good as bought, because I don't plan on hooking up my n64 again for a while. Your next assignment, Nintendo--Goldeneye with dual analog support on the classic controller. And online play. OK fat chance there, but we can dream right?

I don't get this logic. There's bound to be a number of technical glitches once the d/l becomes available—just news of this is causing major traffic at the site, which is currently loading very sluggishly—I'd rather not deal with it. Plus, I'm not a huge fan, so it's not like I can't wait. Ah, I see. Yeah there probably will be some troubles getting it when it's put up on the site. There's a good article from Time about this. I especially like this quote:

I don't get this logic. I'm really digging this idea of releasing non-DRM decent quality digital tracks for a price chosen by the consumer. I like even more that they don't even have a record label. I hope they make a ton of money from this so that the major labels just freak out. It's a very cool experiment, albeit one that could only work for a band as huge as Radiohead. Not so sure about the $80 price tag for the physical copy though. I really think there should be something in between the digital tracks and the box set though if you want something better than mp3 (or want a physical copy). I guess they could let you download the raw WAV files at cd quality but that would get pretty expensive for the band with server costs and such.

Is it "ok" to delete programs that came with the computer?
ZGangsta replied to Exslade ZX's topic in Technology
They're more than taking up space. A lot of the worthless shit that gets bundled with computer packages is applications or services that are set to 'Start Up' or 'Always On' and using resources or, in the case of some of the poorer designed apps, cause possible incompatibilities or security holes. But you gotta be careful with a laptop since there's stuff there that deals with touchpad/power management and such, so give it a Google first. -
Yeah, I really like some stuff off "Be Here Now" too. The problem with Oasis is they have quite a bit of filler on their albums and most of the filler is pretty bad or worthless. Ironic since a whole bunch of their b-sides and unreleased stuff is really really good. Oasis also did a better than Quiet Riot did.

Good God man. I thought the Kanye West rushing the stage at awards sketch was amazing.

I'm kinda on the fence about FF, on one hand it would make playing a spy a lot more fun and require a bit more skill with the explosives and high rate of fire stuff, but on the other hand it would cut down on some of the super manic and fast paced gameplay. I prefer FF on every other online FPS I've played, but Team Fortress may be the exception.

Creed isn't that old, he just said he was to get into the oldest age bracket so he could win the (nonexistent) prize money. I just assume that Creed frequently enters races to do this.

So are there going to be more maps when the game 'officially' comes out in a couple weeks or are all the features present in the beta? Or are they going to put out maps over time (or over Valve Time I guess that would be).
-
Acquiesce and Slide Away are both really great songs. Also a lot of Oasis' songs are faster and edgier sounding when you hear their live versions and I think that works a lot better for them. Some Might Say is just plodding and slow on the album but the live versions I've heard are pretty good.

Yeah, seeing another player with your name is pretty funny. Also awesome is that you can call 'Medic!' for the other team when you're disguised and get some sucker medic to heal you... and then stab them in the face. I've never seen a server with friendly fire on, but I can't imagine how tough that would be if you couldn't shoot at your own players to check if they were a Spy. It would also be tough times for Pyros when you're flooding a choke point with fire to not get a lot of team kills.
-
Oh man, playing a Spy in this is so fun. You really have to act like the appropriate character that you're mimicking and not raise the suspicion of your false comrades.
-
I think that was the one where Liam shows up and claims throat problems then proceeds to go get drunk in the balcony and heckle the band while they're playing without him. If that's not the definition of awesome I don't know what is.

Yeah to get the 'Run as admin' for Steam games I create a desktop shortcut for the game and then set that to run as admin. Apparently it's also important to install Steam (and all games actually) as Admin (ie right-clicking on the installer and going 'run as admin'). But yeah, I've seen a lot of talk about TF2 not working on Vista, all I know is it works fine on my system. I've also seen a lot of people fixing it by getting the latest video card/sound card/whatever drivers, but then that's not always working either. Apparently running it in windowed mode works sometimes... It IS a beta so there's bound to be configurations that just don't work for some people. (also this hotfix can fix some shit sometimes too.)

Actually the Source engine scales really well for less powerful systems, so just let it auto detect graphics settings and then tweak stuff so you get the best performance. I mean, if you have a 5+ years old system it might be stretching it, but within reason all of the Half-Life 2 offshoots can strike a really good looks/performance balance. I'm running this on Vista64 and a dx10 video card and it's been completely rock solid for me. You got the latest drivers for your card? Running the game as administrator? Pre-ordered on Steam and so far I'm having a blast with this game. The graphical style is just amazing. The designs and animations for the characters are brilliant. It's still a beta so there's a few things that could use to be tweaked (I hate that the spawn times are so long) but definitely off to a good start. I would hate to play this with a controller rather than mouse and keyboard though since it's so fast paced and manic.

Actually 50 did get mad when he lost an award one time. It was the 2004 Grammys when he lost Best New Artist to Evanescence. He walked up on stage during their acceptance speech and gave a thumbs down to them. He said that he would never go back to the Grammys because they shut him out and he didn't win anything. http://youtube.com/watch?v=QQru_q9Ajdo Sorry 50, but youre not ODB. Yeah, what the hell. 50 Cent has crashed the stage to whine about losing an award on more than one occasion. And he was bitching about not getting recognized at the MTV awards more than Kanye West was. And I'm pretty sure having Justin Timberlake on your single is a pretty good definition of 'Mainstream.' And then 50 Cent putting out the same songs with the same tired act would be the definition of 'safe.'
-
Shiiiiiiiit, that's how straight gangstas like 50 get so much cash-money. Yes. By being part owners of a vitamin water company that is bought out by Coca-Cola. If that's not gangsta then I don't know what is.
-
Naw, I'm sure 50 Cent will come back with more albums with great material about how he 'Got Money' or 'Has Money' or 'Possesses Cash.' All accompanied by music videos featuring him smoking cigars in slow motion and throwing money up in the air. It'll be groundbreaking stuff, really.
-
Now hopefully he can go away forever. Wow. That is impressive! And not just crushing 50 Cent's total (his act is tired and he's putting out the same shit over and over again) but Kanye actually improving on his last album's 860,000 copies. After the whipping the recording industry has taken since he put out his last album I wasn't expecting him to possibly improve. This is the only good week the industry's had this whole year. Oh, and Billboard's site has some slightly different numbers. Would have been hilarious if Kenny Chesney had beaten 50 Cent too though...
