Should have named it Xenu. Xenu is the arch enemy of the scientologists. Tom would more likely name the baby L Ron. Now Brooke Shields, she should have named HER baby Xenu.

Fuck, I hate 'American Standards' music. Why Rod Stewart has done 4 of those albums in the last 4 years is beyond me. Oh yeah, it's because old people buy them and he can tie the releases into American Idol. Hang your head in shame Rod. He actually has some damn fine songs in his 30+ year career that I wouldn't mind seeing these people perform. But instead let's have them all sing his songs from the last 4 years, which are actually covers of crappy really old songs.

I don't know when Batman vs Al Quada comes out. I do think it has potential to be fun though. I do know that All-Star Batman got delayed again. It was supposed to come out the same week as Infinite Crisis #6 (after initial delays) then was supposed to come out tomorrow, and now is to be released the same day as Infinite Crisis #7. And that's ASB #4. If it was on an actual bi-monthly schedule (like it's supposed to be), issue #6 should have been out in April. I don't know why I kept track of that. DC released the covers for the next 2 issues of All-Star Superman and they're super sweet.

Are DC and Marvel selling out to the man? Newsarama explains.

In retrospect, I should have taken the women and not the Saturn.

This is the third or fourth issue of IC to suffer some sort of delay due to the art. DC's been getting into Marvel territory with their delays lately. Superman/Batman, Supergirl, IC, All-Star Superman, All-Star Batman, Ex Machina. God help them when they have Pacheco and the Kuberts drawing 3 of the 4 main Superman and Batman books.

I've really hated the last 3 episodes of this show. That is all.

Wow, SBP punching the timestream caused waves that retconned things in our universe! Impressive, DC. Impressive. I think its is a smart move because it might entice people who weren't going to pick up 52 to try it since it will be in the shelves with IC #7 Also Civil War #1 comes out May 3rd which might have had alot to do with the decision Nah, all it means is that the artist(s) are behind schedule, nothing more. ...or Prime punching the timestream.

I think the sentiment that some people have (myself incuded) is that, sure House of M was the thing that prompted the government to take action, but it doesn't really have anything specifically to do with HoM. Any big superhero related disaster could have taken it's place. This Civil War storyline could have happened any time and still work. After Onlaught the registration act storyline could have taken place. I mean, Civil War taking place after HoM is belivable, but Marvel keeps saying the two are intrinsically linked, and I don't see that yet. So if that makes any sense....

Shhhhhhh! Jeez dude, do you want that brought to their attention?

Yeah I think 2000 holds up really well. It's the best year that I ever watched at least. Sure there was some crap after Steph got the book, but compared to what's been put out in the last 4 years, even that stuff is golden. I'd say everything from the buildup to Royal Rumble 2000 to WM17 (which was April 2001) was an amazing period. Sure there was some bad stuff, but the amount of great storylines and amazing wrestling in that period is mind-blowing. Plus the WWF could actually do good comedy then and they let the wrestlers do their own promos. Was No Way Out (Austin/HHH 2/3 falls) in 2000 or 2001?

Plus, in Smallville, Clark's what 18 or 19 now? So how does that make him Superboy?

Don't forget Miller's still doing Batman vs Al Quada... And I like Quietly's art on All Star Superman sure his faces can be a little wierd sometimes, but other times he just nails them. It's the surroundings and backgrounds that he does very well. The coloring on this series is absolutely amazing though.

God, words cannot describe how brilliant that episode was. It's just a shame that it got so played up as "OMG South Park is trashing teh Family Guy! WICH IZ BETTERZ~?" when that's not what it was about at all.

That movie was apparently completely ruined by the studio cut. The directors cut is supposedly great. In order to be great, it'd have to cut out all of the fucking "Muslims were the REAL noble, humble freedom fighters!" bullshit that infected that fucking film. What the fuck? Did you even see that movie? The climax was them laying waste to Jerusalem and slaughtering everybody over petty disagreements. No 'Noble freedom fighter' bullshit. The theme was that the people in charge of both sides were dumbasses who kept fighting over a pretty worthless piece of land over and over again.

I'm down with Physical Graffiti, but side 1 is way better than side 2. I'm usually torn between IV and II as to what's the best Zeppelin album. IV is much more iconic (I mean it's got Stairway to Heaven on it) and is tighter, but I just love II's feel. The tracks all seem to bleed together perfectly. Not crazy about the ending of II, which is Bring it on Home (especially when compared to When the Levee Breaks), but damn that album has the most of those riffs that define Page and made Led Zeppelin. Whole Lotta Love, Heartbreaker, Living Loving Maid, the middle section of Bring it on Home. I also love III, I, and Houses of the Holy almost as much as those two. Fuck you just can't go wrong with Led Zeppelin. Even their last two studio albums (not counting Coda) had amazing stuff on them. Favorite song? I have mad love for Stairway, even if it's the obvious choice, but The Rain Song I probably like more.

Being the first shot eliminates self defense. How you figure? If you're being physically attack, you are, by law, allowed to use what is deemed as "accessive force" to protect yourself. We still don't know anything aside from him shooting the guy first. The guy could've beat his ass and then pulled out a gun. And Proof reacted, and pulled out his gun and shot first. Dude, what the fuck is 'accessive force.' The word 'accessive' isn't in the dictionary. (Ok it's in some dictionaries, but it means additional) Assuming you ment 'excessive force' that still doesn't make any sense because the 'excessive force' means you used more force than was necessary. And you're definately not "by-law" (as you put it) allowed to use it to protect yourself. That's why it's called excessive force. And if cnn's report is the truth then this guy deserved it. "excessive force" (What I obviously meant) isn't the right phrase, but "necessary force" to defend yourself from bodily harm. If someone threatens to hurt or kill you, "If, in self-defence, you seriously hurt or kill somebody who was threatening to kill you, a court may excuse your action. However, the evidence must indicate you did not have any reasonable alternative." Is what I'm saying. Until we get the facts straight, we can't just assume his actions were violence first. The guy could've simple pulled a gun out and Proof shot him before he got killed. Proof had problems (warranted and unwarranted) with a lot of people in Detroit. It's all cool from the safety of your mommy's home to say what he should and shouldn't be carrying, but in the REAL WORLD, where he's looking out for his best interest, he needed to protect himself. If that means carrying a (registered) firearm, then that's what it is. I'm not saying you have to feel sorry for him, but you have to understand the circumstances that he was surrounded with before you just rush to judgment that he's some "ignorant thug rapper" that was letting off random shots inside of a club. Now you're making sense. Yeah if a guy runs at you with a knife or pulls a gun on you or something you have the right to shoot him down. The fact that everyone involved booked it outta there, and the 2 guys who were shot were taken in 'private cars' to help means something fishy was up. So WAS Proof the guy gunned down outside the club in the 'Toy Soldiers' video? Cause that would be kinda creepy.

Yeah, he also had a pretty good stage presence. He was bound to go sooner than later however, and wasn't a great singer and probably stuck around a bit longer than he should have. I just thought he saved himself with 'Fat Bottomed Girls' and I really wanted Ace to go after his sucktitude last night. Or Kellie, but that's not gonna happen. So Rod Stewart next week. I'm flying down to Hollywood to shoot anyone who sings 'If You Think I'm Sexy.'
-
Hmmm I was surprised to feel quite disapointed when they announced Buckey going home. Maybe because I actually quite liked his performance last night. Plus, Ace deserves to be shot for the crap he put on. Telling Brian May how to do his own song, piss off jerk. Although when he sang tonight, he was quite a bit better, probably because he seemed pretty pissed off the whole night and channelled some of that into his song. Elliot should not have been bottom 3, goddamn America. He did an amazing job. Highlight of the night: Katherine wearing those hot pants in that gay Ford ad/music video.

Good point about the New Warriors. I'm getting a kind of Watchmen meets Kingdom Come feel so far. When Tony was talking about seeing future problems with the growing super powered community in Illuminati, the possible future from Kindom Come immediately came to mind. Except with Marvel heroes of course. In fact, that whole New Warriors fight reminded me alot of the Kansas disaster in KC.

Yes, let's lynch people for crimes like fraud and forgery... ...Psycho. Oh come on, like this is some giant fraud. They bought 6 pairs of baby clothes and some diapers. The townspeople dumb enough to start a website for donations without any proof that these babies existed is pretty funny though. I just don't get how these people were stupid enough to not consider that they might have to, you know, produce some babies for people to see at the end.

"meant" instead of "ment" if you're gonna be a spelling nazi...... Touche salesman...

I'm surprised that I'm the first one to try and explain this as maybe people don't understand why we "get" Scarface. I've been asked this plenty of times and I think its because its a gangster version of a rags to riches story that anyone who grew up as a minority or poor can relate to on some level. Tony is an illegal immigrant who came with literally the clothes on his back and was able to "earn" himself a huge empire which collapsed to his own selfishness and greed. The lesson most of us get out of it is...you can do it too, just don't indulge in excess to the point you end up like Scarface. Rappers love it because Tony is "tough" in that he doesn't take any crap from anyone (especially since he doesn't have an intimidating stature) and is true to himself. Also, since most rappers go into it to basically make a ton of money without "selling out" and the rags to riches story of Scarface is akin to their goals. Add in the fact that it was VERY edgy for its time (most F bombs in a single film until the South Park movie broke the record & a level of violence that caused protests in 83) and you have whats essentially a cult classic that has expanded to a culturally iconic film. Plus the movie is VERY quotable... Dames I guess I understand it a little better, but I still don't "get it", I guess. The impression I get looking at the shirts and such I see is that most seem to think Tony is a hero of some sort, whereas to me the movie came off as a cautionary tale(the screenplay was written by Oliver Stone if I recall correctly). And while Tonby may be true to himself, Tony's true self is a total jerk. He's greedy and selfish. I dunno, somehow if one were to pick a tragic "hero" I'd be more willing to look to a Jim Kelly type, but then I'm way out of the mainstream... Take Hamlet or MacBeth, or most of Shakespeare's protagonists. I mean none of them are what you'd call 'good guys' (or in MacBeth's case, he's a really terrible person), but they all have traits that anyone can identify with that led to their downfall. Same goes for Tony in Scarface. People can identify with the things he wants to achieve. I agree that 'cautionary tale' is a good way to put it. I think however, that the people who think 'yo that Tony is one awesome muthafucker' and view him as a hero completely miss the point of the film, and probably have some issues. I think the movie's really well done though. It is flawed, but well done. Those aren't movies that 'everyone loves.' 'Batman Begins' is pretty damn propular, but it's new still. The first 2, people are pretty divided on. 3 and 4, everyone hates. That movie was apparently completely ruined by the studio cut. The directors cut is supposedly great.

News to me. Got details? Yeah, this was on Newsarama a while back: "Asked about the overall run of 52, Wacker outlined the artists on the title: Joe Bennet (who will illustrate issues #1-#4) Ken Lashley, Chris Batista, Don Kramer, and Shawn Moll. And clarifying the back-up features that will appear in the series, Wacker said that following a 10-part history of the DCU in the first ten issues of the series, the next 40 issues will feature two page origin stories of the top 40 characters in the DCU, written by Waid, with art by a variety of artists." Jurgens is writing the "History of the DCU" piece. I don't really want to get in on buying a weekly comic, but I might get the first 10 issues of 52.
