Yeah, he'll be inducted once he kicks the bucket. Or at least when he gets sane in another 15 years or so. -
The latest twist in the Schiavo case.......
Slickster replied to NoCalMike's topic in Current Events
There was a tape realised by some repuitable non-profit organization of her talking on a tape. Most of it was just moans and what not, but there was a part where her dad asked her if she was and pain, and while I am a skeptic on the entire situation, I thought I heard her say yes. Not saying she did not saying she didn't, just in my opinion sounded like she was saying yes. Correllation does not = causation. The clips of her supposedly responding to her parents talking about memories are heavily edited from HOURS of footage. To say those clips are proof of life is facetious. If I stood on Main Street talking about how much I like green cars, I'm sure eventually a green car will pass by. Did my talking about green cars directly cause this event? No, such a thing is scientifically impossible. The same for the Schiavo footage; for all we know they could have been talking *at* her for hours waiting for some semblance of a response. Someone on another forum sees Terri as Michigan J. Frog, "because she supposedly can talk and look around when her parents are around but can't do a damned thing when anyone else asks her to repeat the event." Mike has truly shown off his best work in this thread. No-selling posts, refusing to provide evidence for the claims of these innumerable nurses whose testimony runs counter to the rulings of twenty courts....incredible stuff for a man who promised to leave this forum for good just a few months ago. I'm glad that Terri Schiavo's life of freakshow-like indignity is over. They can bury her next to TheMikeSC's credibility. -

The latest twist in the Schiavo case.......
Slickster replied to NoCalMike's topic in Current Events
The man has turned down over $11 million that he could have received had he given up custody. Instead, he has stayed married to her to see that her wish to not be kept alive unnaturally (after all hope is lost) is fulfilled. THAT's why he didn't do anything for the first seven years; her brain wasn't totally gone yet and there was a minute chance of recovery. You've said that through his actions he is not giving her her "dignity." As if being a breathing vegetable is somehow a dignified way to exist! You realize that her parents will stop at nothing to keep her alive and have said so in court. She could be stuck in that bed with a feeding tube with all of her functions based solely off reflex actions for another THIRTY YEARS before she dies. Is that dignified, Mike, being kept alive by machines with no chance of escape? And what is it with you and your abnormal phobia of common-law marriage? Michael Schiavo has been a loyal and caring husband for Terri; in the first thirteen years of her care (despite being totally bedridden) she received not ONE bedsore. A nurse who worked with the Schiavos during the 1990s has called Michael a "nightmare" because of his exacting demands for Terri's treatment. And I'm sure that spending all that time with a wife who can't even swallow food, much less recognize him, hasn't exactly made him the happiest man in the world. He basically spent over a decade mourning for Terri; isn't there a time to move on? But no, Mike, you're right. Damn him for caring for Terri every day over a decade! Damn him for wanting to have children and not be lonely anymore! And damn him for not giving up custody so his wife can be a medical oddity for years to come. -=Slick -
Inducting Hulk Hogan Into the WWE Hall of Fame...
Slickster replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
I would expect Hassan to call Hogan out to get on the WM card. Every promo Hogan's ever done in his entire career has been to sell something else, be it an upcoming match or merchandise. Why would his induction speech be any different? -
I'm not entirely sure what the story is behind this 'unofficial theme,' but i'm presuming that if it's true then it will become official tomorrow night on SD!.

Does anyone know where I could get a webshop (a la Highspots) set up? I don't need bells and whistles, but something basic (like a template I could edit/upload). Any response will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

This isn't any stupider than recognizing the Kallang/Wellington NWA title switches 15 years after the fact. johnj at DVDVR said it better: "To me, revisionist history was wiping out Hogan's title wins in the first place. This may just be a matter a semantics, but the current AWA is not revising anything - they are now recognizing what actually occured - Hogan twice pinned Bockwinkle to win the AWA title. This whole thing is really of little consequence to the sport as a whole. There are already dozens of websites that list "phantom" title changes that were never officially recognized by the organizations. Actually, there may be some good in this in that at least their logic for recognizing the title wins is sound and follows the "rules" of AWA matches, ie. referee's decision is final. Anything to bring back some semblence of "rules" and logic behind the worked matches is a positive in my mind."

Well, I think this might be the one time where Marilyn Manson and the makers of the Grand Theft Auto series don't have to defend themselves in interviews. That's a relief that it was clearly caused by one individual's worldview, not by drugs/guns/Manson/heavy metal/Doom like supposedly every other school shooting.

I had been wondering how they found time to tape all these...seeing the locker room at the end explained it all for me.

The latest twist in the Schiavo case.......
Slickster replied to NoCalMike's topic in Current Events
Also, Terri Schiavo is incapable of feeling pain. The dehydration, not the starvation, would kill her, slowly but not painfully. She would pass into sleep and not wake up, simple as that. To say that Terri Schiavo is 'alive' is misleading. 40% of her brain is literally gone, she is incapable of any motion beyond the most basic reflexes, and she has no possible hope of recovery. She's 'alive' only in the sense that she is breathing and her internal organs are still functioning. This case sets a dangerous precedent by taking Terri's right to live or die and making it the decision of Congress and the President, not her legal guardian. If they can go over the heads of the state courts once, who could stop them if they wanted to do this again in the future to decide another person's fate? -
To finally settle this issue: does anyone even have an inkling of an idea when Sid supposedly shat himself? Now it's supposedly at a house show, but which one? This story has been shrouded in mystery since, like, ever and I'd love to see some definitive evidence of this having ever even taken place.

THIS STORY IS NOT TRUE.

Anyone with a qualified level of expertise or knowledge want to explain what that bright spot in the center-right is about, or any other abnormal characteristics of this scan? Well, for starters, that gaping black space in the middle should not be there, as you can see when comparing it to a normal person's brain scan. -

Also, Kurt Angle only lost one match at WM2000, not two; it was a two-fall match, not two consecutive matches. -
I'm going to predict that HBK will win at WM, then win the World Tags with Marty at Backlash. Then, they will split (probably with a 'Barber Shop 2005' angle) and they will face each other in a red-hot blowoff at either June's Vengeance PPV or SummerSlam, depending on how over the Rockers remain as a tag team.

Disturbing image warning: Terri's brain scan -
The latest twist in the Schiavo case.......
Slickster replied to NoCalMike's topic in Current Events
1. They *were* fighting over the $1 million settlement. All that money has been spent on Terri's medical care; she is currently being pade for by Florida taxpayers. 2. Her condition is due to a cardiac arrest brought on by an eating disorder. 3. Terri moves, smiles, blinks, and makes noise because her brainstem (controlling involuntary actions) is still functional. However, every other part of her brain has died and rotted away. The cranial cavity is filled with cerebrospinal fluid. EEG scans have picked up no sign of activity. The short videos of Terri moving and smiling are edited together from over five hours of footage. 4. Terri is fed with a feeding tube because she is incapable of swallowing. The chances of her condition improving are literally zero, since that would require her brain to spontaneously regrow itself (unprecedented in the history of medicine). 5. Her husband Michael has cared for Terri over the last 15 years and claims that before she was in this state she had expressed her disapproval of people being artifically kept alive. His evidence? A comment she made while watching a news special (on a case similar to what she would become). His witnesses? Two of his relatives who were there with them watching this program. 6. Michael Schiavo does not stand to make any money from Terri's death. He has rejected offers of $10,000, $1 million, and $10 million to surrender guardianship and has refused them all. He stays with Terri, he says, because he is afraid of what Terri's parents will do to keep her alive against her wishes. In his 2003 testimony, Terri's father admitted that if Terri's limbs were to become gangrenous he would have them amputated; if she developed heart disease he would demand she receive open-heart surgery. 7. Michael Schiavo does indeed have a girlfriend and has fathered a child with her. However, he has not sought divorce from Terri because he wants to have a say in what happens to her. Having a girlfriend and daughter has not kept Michael Schiavo away from his wife, however. In the first thirteen years of Terri's bedridden state, nurse's reports show that she did not receive a single bedsore. In fact, one medical staff member called Michael a "nightmare" because of his exacting demands for optimum treatment for Terri. The above can be verified by the nonbiased court report created by the State of Florida. -

Do I have to keep reposting the part of the interview showing that Mr. Schiavo wouldn't be profiting if Terri kicks the bucket? Or are you just going to keep ignoring things like the truth that just don't fit into your argument? (BTW, everything that Schiavo said in that interview is backed up by the State of Florida's non-objective report on the case.) -
I believe the arena lights went out too at first, but the reserve power didn't have enough for full PPV-quality lighting. A spotlight and some of the basic lighting was still good, so they did the show with (all?) the faces going over.
