  1. Better then Matrix Reloaded.
  2. If it would lead to a reduced number of PPVs, I would end the brand split yesterday.
  3. No, that's November. It's November to Remember. December to Dismember. Or, Big Ass Blizzard Bash/Blast as they had one year. November to Remember was ECW's Wrestlemania, and December to Dismember was usually their Backlash, except I think sometimes they held off until their big January event, "House Party" And then the big new angles usually started with Cyberslam.

    PS3

I think I am going to give the Gamestop down the road a quick check when I pickup some pizza tonight for dinner.

    PS3

I camped for a PS2....(kinda long story), and while the experience wasn't all that bad, I mean the time flew by and the people were great, well most of them, I'd definately prefer not to do it for the PS3 if possible.
  6. I just got back. I enjoyed it. It definately had a more popcorn summer flick feel to it than the other two, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'll tell you what though, that damn sure was the fastest 100 mins ever. I swear it felt like a half an hour, and then suddenly the movie was over. The pace was fast throughout the entire movie. I think the Phoenix Character kind of got shortchanged, coming to life and dying in the same movie, but that might have to do with it being side to side with the cure plot. So it looks like the cure is only temporary anyway, unless it is just temporary in the stronger mutants. Ironic, using a mutant to try and get rid of mutants.
  7. Then ask him if he knew what smoking crack did..........
  8. I was just thinking about the structure that WWE wants, with ECW being Double A, Smackdown AAA, and Raw being THE SHOW. Well that begs the question, is ECW even going to be it's own brand, or are they going to be forced to take shit wrestlers like Chris Masters and Snitsky types, and train them for awhile before the move on to Smackdown? I mean when people think of ECW, they think, Hardcore Wrestling, Technical Wrestling, and add in some Luchadores. They don't think of big waste of space Hoss's with no charisma hitting each other over the heads with chairs. I certainly hope this new "ECW" isn't just going to be training ground for slugs.

    PS3

Just wondering, if anyones local video game stores are taking pre-orders yet, and what they are asking for money-wise for a down payment. I know around here with the PS2, they were only asking a meager $20.00 but then again the system was only $300.00......
  10. Showtime's Tales From the Crypt....but better
  11. I like how Vince takes credit for "creating ECW's cult following" through releasing their DVDs.
  12. The Fantastic Four trailer we were never meant to see....from...1994!?!
  13. Yup. I also don't quite buy into the fact that just because you read the comic books, that you have a vested PASSION into making sure the movie follows the comic book. I was never a HUGE comic book geek, but I did read some as a kid, and enjoyed them, but it never once translated into me now as an adult giving a shit about the movie following plot lines to the "t" because anyone with half a brain knows there is so much liberty given to comic book writers to make extroidinary plots that they would NEVER WORK in a movie.
  14. Do you honestly think RING Magazine would have plastered Kirk Johnson's face all over the magazine, pushed him to the top of their rankings, and trumpeted him as their champion after a win over Corrie freakin' Sanders (with HBO along for the ride), had he been in the same position as Vitali? No, but Kirk Johnson didn't almost KO Lennox Lewis, and everyone knows why there was so much at stakes in the Vitali/Sanders fight. Older brother, avenging younger bro's loss....
  15. If you read the reviews at AICN, they are hating on it a lot basically because they think the Dark Phoenix saga defers too much from the comic book version, and that it is too big of a storyline to be sidetracked with the cure storyline at the same time. They said that the Dark Phoenix saga should have been saved for if they planned on making a second trilogy. While I kind of agree with that sentiment, I also have a hard time seeing the Dark Phoenix Saga(Comic Book Version) actually working on the big screen. I am no X-MEN expert or historian or whatever, but I have read up a little on the Dark Phoenix saga, and I think if they tried to make it like the comic book did, it would get laughed right out of the theater by 90% of the audience, while the 10% who are comic book geeks would still find to many differences to be happy. Seriously, just like Wolverines yellow costume, not everything in the comic books works on the silver screen. Plus parts one and two derided from the comic book PLENTY and these same guys hating on Part 3, didn't seem to care much for the first 2 installments.
  16. Well I think Nitro/Thunder offered a different dynamic then Raw/Smackdown. With the latter two, it is structed exactly the same, 90% of the time is for the ME'ers and the rest is filler. With Nitro and Thunder, Nitro was given a lot of time for the nWo and 2nd tier guys, while Thunder was used to get over other feuds, like the tag team feuds with Raven/Saturn/Benoit/Malneko/Rey Jr. etc..... I just think a brand split is a waste of time if you are going to make the shows the same exact thing except one has red banners, and one has blue banners.
  17. Nitro/Thunder did a good job of featuring the entire roster without having a brand split. The problem with the brand split, which others have commented a hundred times, is that Raw and Smackdown don't feel very different, same crappy writing and booking style, basically feels like the same show with different faces. That is why we are all holding out hope for Heyman having full control over the ECW brand that way it doesn't feel like a third WWE show, and rather an entirely different brand of wrestling.
  18. The media was on Vitali's nuts after the fight a bit, only because no one thought they would see Lennox Lewis nearly KO'd. They all bought their tickets expecting to see Lewis beat up a shit fighter named Kirk Johnson, and instead saw an exciting fight which nearly saw a new champion crowned, plus it was in America where the fans have never really liked Lewis, they just bandwagoned on him after his decent reign as champ. I never disliked Lewis, I just didn't get into him much because he is one of those guys who never even liked boxing that much, he just happened to be good at it, that is why half the time he showed up to fights out of shape, not trained well and just not into his fights. He said so himself after he retired that it was hard to motivate himself to train hard for fights because he didn't "love" the sport. I would have been much more interested in seeing Lewis vs. Holyfield/Tyson/Bowe in 91-1996, rather then the late 90's, but Oliver McCall knocking Lewis out ruined all that and Lewis had to work his way back, which he eventually did, but by then the heavyweight contenders were Michael Grant and Shannon Briggs...LOL. With that being said, rarely in boxing do the fans want to see the champ hold the belt all the way till retirement, they want to see new blood take over and have the torch passed, that is why everyone wanted a Vitali/Lewis rematch before Lewis retired, because at that time, people viewed Vitali as the only legit threat to Lennox. Whether or not Vitali would have won the rematch, no one knows, neither guy trained for the other in the first fight, and I am sure Lewis would have been in better shape, but the fact that people viewed Vitali as a threat to Lewis is what peaked people's interest.
  19. I am not sold on Cotto yet, or at least don't think he is experienced enough to get in the ring with Jose Luis Castillo. If that happens I see a vicious left hook coming Cotto's way.
  20. Yeah, people need to realize the difference between moving up in weight, and simply putting on pounds, and being a natural at a certain weight. The natural will always have the edge, because the person moving up is usually losing something, whether it be power or speed. Same with moving down in weight.
  21. Dude, Vitali never almost went down and out. And it was still arguably the thumb of the glove that caused the initial cut on Vitali. With clean punches opening it up more and turning it into the disgusting tear it soon became. If you watch the fight, it is basically a lazy Lennox Lewis, slouching all over the ring, getting his bell rung for the first 2 rounds, then he starts to make a fight of it, but only throwing one punch at a time, no combinations whatsoever, oh and then the famous part where he is holding Vitali and hitting him in the side, while the stupid ref stands there and watches instead of breaking them up. By this time both fighters are tired, and basically leaning on each other.....and then it is stopped. Vitali never once "almost went down and out"
  22. I wasn't aware that it was ok, just because the parents said so. I mean my Parents were ok with some stuff that minors weren't supposed to do, but I didn't think that could override the law.... Not that I'm complaining though, those were some nice titties.
  23. Yer kidding right? If anything, people who actually watched Samoa Joe before this hypothetical WWE Run, would be horrified at what Vince had done to him, and would be hoping that he would purposely do something to get fired. Umaga has yet to even show he can work a good match and people want to compare him to Samoa Joe? I mean really, if this is Vince's best attempt at ripping off Samoa Joe, then he is in desperate need for a better creative writing team. Without the savage look, if Joe squashed people exactly the same as Umaga has so far, it's hardly different then how Joe started out in TNA. I realize Umaga isn't going to have ROH like classics that Joe's has, but if this is how Joe debuted people would like it. For awhile at least. Right, but you can't seperate the "Savage Look" because that is a Vince McMahon attribute. You are assuming if Samoa Joe came to WWE, Vince wouldn't stick him with a stupid "Savage" gimmick, which with Vince's track record, I'd say it is AT LEAST a 50/50 chance he would.
