Guest Coffey Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I 'mark' out for pretty much any top rope splash. I was a huge Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka 'mark' when I was younger. I'm also a fan of RVD 5-star Frog Splash, Eddie Guerrero's Frog Splash & Val Venis's Money Shot. I liked when Rikishi would come off the top as well. He used to do it all the time when he was the Sultan. I also 'mark' for the DDT as a finish I.E. Raven & Jake Roberts. I'm a huge fan of tag team finishers as well. Especially if they are innovative like the 3D & Problem Solver. I like Piledrivers, only if they are a finisher or working over a neck though. Just a random Piledriver thrown into a match sucks. Same can be said for Powerbombs.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Nice sunglasses. ... on Power and Glory, that is.
ChrisMWaters Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I sadly mark out for the Hogan Combo...(hulk up, finger point, 3 punches, boot, legdrop). Dunno why, I just do. Whenever Molly's on camera...and even better, when she goes for and/or hits the Molly Go Round. I marked for the Lesnar SSP...even though he f'd it up... I mark for Angle's "Run up the turnbuckles and catch the guy on the top rope" suplexes. I mark for the Spinaroonie. I mark for Rock's Stunner sell... I mark for Hurricane and anything fun he does...plus when he pulls the Vertibreaker out of NOWHERE. I mark for well done double team impact moves (Most of Team Angle's stuff, the 3D...) There's probably some other things too...but it's 2:15 AM here...
Guest Nathan_Avara Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 In the WWE, Kurt Angle's moonsault, Hurricane's Shining Wizard and Eddy Guerrero's powerbomb. In the indys, Paul London - The London Calling (SSP) Chris Daniels - The Angel's Wings Low Ki - Kicks right in the FACE~! And, last but certainly not least....STORM...CRADLE...DRIVER~!
Guest Kid Kablam Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I remember when CHris Benoit actually stopped doing his snap suplex for a little while. When he brought it out again, I marked out like never before. Well done chops sunset powerbomb Madible CLaw Gore Splash mountain Savage Elbow
Garth Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I also mark for the Angle Slam, especially off the top rope.
Guest papacita Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Kurt's Ankle lock...especially when he grapevined it on Benoit at the Rumble.
Crimson Platypus Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Yeah, Bundy's 5 count ruled, I was just thinking last night that TBS should be doing that. Others: Shining Wizard Northern Lights Pin Diamond Cutter Anything Kanyon does (Who better?) Not really a move but I loved it when Foley would be yell stuff like "TAKE THAT" when he punched people.
Guest Damn You Helmsley Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Rock over-selling the Stunner, the Gore, the Regal Cutter, top rope Angle Slam, Bret Hart's Sharpshooter and the Figure Four.
Guest jester Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I mark out on those rare occasions when Jericho busts out the real Walls of Jericho, when the victim is far more vertical and Jericho plants his knee on the neck. I think the last person to take it like that was Trish Stratus, of all people.
Guest papacita Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Speaking of Trish, I mark for her Matrix thing and "Chick Kick".
Guest brotheryossinomark Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 laritooooooo cima's shotei "venus" tokyo magnum's junk shaking frakensteiner of the top norman smiley's top rope northern lights with bridge on landing (did it once when he was in a three way in ecw against milenko) benoit swan dive head BUTT hector garza corkscrew plancha on to floor roaring elbow bastion booger sit down splach salvatore valentino's triple fliping northern lights (think of it as a northern lights chaos thery done 3 times- saw it at a local show-unreal) kobashi chop fury
PsychoDriver Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Common moves I mark for: Rolling German Suplex Perfect Plex Super Kick (No Matter by who as long as it's done correctly) Headscissors Ranas Yakuza Kick Asai Moonsault Move #273.... Arm Bar Springboard Dropkick
B. Brian Brunzell Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Moves I mark out for: Christian's diving reverse DDT Superkicks the 450 Splash Angle's pop-up Superplex
Guest godthedog Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 and i mark out for kobashi's no-selling.
Guest eiker_ir Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 i forgot 'bout Eddie's swanton thing he does from the apron to the ring, especially when he does it on a ladder, i don' know how he isn't dead yet
Guest Lil Naitch Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 With all of the Armbar references, I'm thinking they need to release a Jericho DVD from his WCW days so us newbies can relive that angle.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I fucking love The Haas Of Pain. Especially when Eddie was contorted in it the other week. He should beat everyone with that.
Guest MrHell Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I make no bones about the fact that I'm a submission mark. The fact that I've recently started digging MMA hasn't halped matters. Of course, I do have my favorites: La Ayakita Haas of Pain Ringpost figure 4 (Naturally) La Reniera Katagatame (does any wrestler use this one?) Crossface Chickenwing Stretch Plum Any submission hold - usually done by someone in Toryumon or Mariko Yoshida - that's freakin impossible to describe, but you know hurts like a bitch. I also mark out for complete dickishness in matches. Stuff like Otani's bootscrapes, grabbing the top rope while you've got someone in an abdominal stretch, picking your opponent's head up of the mat instead of getting a 3-count, and the aforementioned ~ARRONGANT COVER~ always make my day.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I do wonder why no-one in the US ever thieved the stretch plum.
Guest MrHell Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Actually, Chavo busted it out on Smackdown back before his Los Guerreros days.
Guest notJames Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Owen Hart's belly-to-belly off an Irish whip. No one has been able to duplicate it to perfection, and I think it should stay that way. Phil LaFon's inverted superplex Chris Daniels/Mikey Whipreck's Devil Bomb Malenko and Saturn's double team backbreaker/knee from the top rope and of course… CANADIAN VIOLENCE~! (that one's for all you SKeith haters out there)
Guest NoCalMike Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I mark for the Van-Daminator, especially now when it is a rarity to see it. I also would like to see the split-legged moonsault make a comeback with RVD. I always liked Taz's suplexes. The Head & Arm suplex on Mikey Whipreck that they used for the show's intro was just brutal. I always marked out for 2 Cold Scorpio's tumbleweed and various other top rope moves. I liked the fact that you never knew which one he was gonna do next. Or if he would make a new one.
Guest EternallyLazy Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Savages elbow drop, Lesnar's shooting star press (from ovw not wrestlemania lol), the Anglesault, and Angle's selling of the stone cold stunner where it's executed and instead of flying backwards automatically, he pops up, has a glazed look in his eyes and just falls backwards to the mat
Guest BAR Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 The simple things, mainly when they're done in Jr. matches... Tiger Suplex (Pinning) Dragon Suplex (Pinning) I really don't know why.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Malenko and Saturn's double team backbreaker/knee from the top rope How that move didn't become the number one tag team finisher in the US I will never know. Fuck, just, fuck. Chavo using the stretch plum would be nice, I think they need to have a submission finisher for the majority of smackdown talent (not taker) so they can diversify the reversal sequences in the tag matches.
Guest Army Eye Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Scott Steiner's Steiner Screwdriver Chris Jericho's Liontamer HHH's Pedigree Kurt Angle's heelhook and Angle Slam Figure-four leglock. anyone Victoria's Widow's Peak Curt Hennig's Perfect-Plex Raven's Evenflow DDT Just about any move that Christopher Daniels does. That guy is awesome. Lil Naitch a Jericho in WCW DVD would be tremendous. Great matches.. even greater promos... only trouble is, it would reveal that Jericho has never reached his full potential in WWE
King Cucaracha Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 The Van Daminator, and RVD when he hits the Van Terminator. Tajiri's kicks. The Beverly Brothers move Team Angle does. Super Styles Clash. Cradle Piledriver, especially in the days of the banned piledriver. 619 round the post. Los Guerreros cheating in a match. Bigelow when he countered the Tazmissions by falling backwards, and they fell through the ring. That was quality. Of course, the RVD suicide plancha into the crowd from ECW. And if it counts, any move that looks really brutal. If it looks like it connects, and it's a decent move, and it's sold right, I'll mark out.
EL DANDY~! Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 107 replies...AND NO MENTION OF KEIJI MUTOH'S POWER DRIVE ELBOW? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? My brother and I both concur...that is the greatest elbowdrop outside of Bret's. In the WWE RVD's Five-Star and Van Terminator Benoit's Flying Headbutt and Chops Flair's Flop and the thumb to the eye...along with the usual. Angle's Pop-up Suplex/Angle Slam Eddy's Froggy Splash and his MDK Powerbomb Tajiri's kick to the noggin and his ode to Shocker La Reinara. Rocky's kip-up after the DDT and then when he smell's what he's cooking...greatest heel today. Others Kobashi's no-selling and Burning Hammer Hansen's Western Lariat (See his match with Kobashi on 7/23/93) Kawada's Gamengiri and Victory Slide Powerbomb Misawa's Rolling Elbow Hayabusa's Falcon Arrow (Yes, I said FALCON ARROW) Arn's spinebuster, the greatest ever. Tully's Slingshot Suplex Raven's DDT The Styles Clash Paul Orndorff's Piledriver and BOOGIE WOOGIE ELBOW~! Disco Inferno's Macarena Driver Jumbo's Jumping Knee (HHH, watch some tapes, will ya?) Cactus Jack's Double Arm DDT and TOTALLY MEMPHIS Piledriver The Stinger Splash Bret's Sharpshooter And last but not least...Jake Robert's DDT. I swear when he hit that move I jumped out of my seat.
Crimson Platypus Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 One that I forgot to mention, I always mark out for the green mist!
