Styles 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2003 Ok not that it has much to do with anything, but I read it at Blabbermouth and I thought of this place. It's another example of a celebrity running his ignorant mouth about shit he dosesn't understand (although in this case, I don't think he can be considered a celebrity, who's heard of "six feet under"?) SIX FEET UNDER Singer: GEORGE BUSH Gets Off On Killing People - Sep. 4, 2003 SIX FEET UNDER frontman Chris Barnes recently spoke to Pitriff.com about his views on the last U.S. Presidential election. "I didn't vote for [Al] Gore, I'll be the first one to say that," he said. "But I'll tell you what. If the Democrats were still in… Listen, what did we have to worry about when Clinton was in office? Him getting a blowjob? He gets off on sex. I'd rather have someone in office getting off on sex than getting off on killing people, and George Bush is known to do that. He's enjoyed killing people in Texas on death row, and now he's going and killing people over there, and no one really gives a fuck. Let's be realistic about it and not just take one point of view. I don't think there's too much difference between the Democrats and the Republicans, but what I do know is that election was fixed. It's obvious. It's so obvious that people are afraid to question." When asked why he thinks that people didn't challenge the election results, Barnes said, "[it was] because Republicans have such a stronghold in our country right now that it's a one party system, if you look at it. I don't think there's any way to foil that, really. Even when the Democrats are going after them heavy, it's still a situation where the Democrats are just a lighter version of the Republicans. I can handle that, but I can't handle fascism disguised as democracy. As we are right now, we are basically a monarchy. This is the son of a former president. That's basically royalty in office. You've got someone that is going out into foreign lands that are weaker than us and taking their natural resources. That's not what this country is built upon. This country is against that from the beginning. Our constitution was built against any kind of foreign government ruling from a distant shore and overtaxing us and taking our natural resources. So that's basically it. He's marred our country, and that's where I stand on it." What a scholar...

Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2003 It's another example of a celebrity running his ignorant mouth about shit he dosesn't understand (although in this case, I don't think he can be considered a celebrity, who's heard of "six feet under"?) Or another case of somebody fed up with the way America has been run since Bush Jr. took office (Which was upwards of about...what? Half the fucking country?). As for "who's heard of Six Feet Under," well...you're an idiot. Barnes is the frontman of Six Feet Under, who are (UNarguably) one of the most popular death metal acts in the world today. Best? Far from it, they're practically the worst. But popular? Hell yes. He's also the ex-frontman of, perhaps, THE most popular death metal band in history (barring Death, the originators, of course), Cannibal Corpse. I'd consider being known WORLDWIDE by millions of people "being a celebrity." As for what he said, while I think it's a tad bit extreme, I'm not too different on the matter either. Bush needs to get out, and this country isn't about "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" as much as it used to be.
Styles 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2003 To say the President "gets off on killing" people, fixed an election and is running a monarchy disguised as a democracy, and is invading other countries to oppress their people and take their land is not only wrong it's incredibly moronic. Oh, and as for who he is, I don't give a fuck. That's not the point.

Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 Listen, what did we have to worry about when Clinton was in office? Him getting a blowjob? *Not* doing anything after the 1st WTC bombing. *Not* doing anything after the Cole was bombed. Which is arguably the reason Bush is "going and killing people over there", as he likes to put it.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 *Not* doing anything after the 1st WTC bombing. *Not* doing anything after the Cole was bombed. Yeah, when your enemy is trying to ignite a war between the Islamic and Western worlds, it's an important thing to give him what he's aspiring for. Take that as a criticism of Bush's actions, but not a defense of Clinton's non-actions.

Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 Bring it on. And that, right there, is why I want to see the guy gone. We need a Prez with a better understanding of how the military works. Emotional cries of "Bring it on!" work good for the public, but certainly our recent operations could have called for some more tact.

I mean, it's not as though he's in direct control of tactical decisions in the field. Or are you talking with the current squabble with the UN?

Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted September 5, 2003 Chris Barnes is a pussy. Cannibal Corpse was better off without him, and 6FU blows goats. His political opinion isn't worth much. Spicy McHaggis 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 We need a Prez with a better understanding of how the military works. Like one that makes massive cuts on defense spending? Yes, I guess that President has a better understanding... the military works better with LESS money! Emotional cries of "Bring it on!" work good for the public, but certainly our recent operations could have called for some more tact. Which one? The one that deposed the Taliban in a month? Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 Like one that makes massive cuts on defense spending? Yes, I guess that President has a better understanding... the military works better with LESS money! That's not what I said. Which one? The one that deposed the Taliban in a month? Or the Iraq one...you know, the most succesful military operation in the history of the United States? Most successful? Are you kidding? Nobody thought taking the place wouldn't be easy. The war on terror really begins now. Bodies and bills are piling up in Iraq. Every two-bit terrorist who wants to attack America does not even have to get a ride to our continent to do it as our men, our equipment, and our interests are over there and have been almost sitting ducks for months in a land where not everyone in the country unanimously wants to see them there. All this from a President who told us we wouldn't need UN help for this. All this from the Mr. Rumsfeld who could name the area where the WMD labs were supposed to be. And now there's, nothing much on the table really, and I'm sure everyone serving is just so proud of our non-plan! But then... http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml;j...storyID=3395122 If they had the chance, U.S. soldiers at a base in Iraq would have had one question for Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld: When are we going home? But Rumsfeld canceled a speech he was due to give on Friday to the troops at their base at the palace of deposed Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein in his hometown of Tikrit. "I don't give a damn about Rumsfeld. All I give a damn about is going home," Specialist Rue Gretton said, humping packs of water bottles on his shoulders from a truck. "The only thing his visit meant for us was we had to clean up a lot of mess to make the place look pretty. And he didn't even look at it anyway," Gretton said after soldiers swept the dusty streets around the complex of lakes and mansions. They also erected a stage and set out chairs for a speech that Rumsfeld canceled due to a tight schedule. Instead, the Pentagon chief briefly thanked soldiers after a meeting with military leaders. "It was good for morale," said Major Josslyn Alberle, a spokeswoman for the Fourth Infantry Division headquartered at the palace. Sergeant Green, 40, did not think so. "If I got to talk to Rumsfeld I'd tell him to give us a return date. We've been here six months and the rumor is we'll be here until at least March. This is totally, totally uncalled for," she said. Green, who asked not to be identified by her first name, complained she would miss seeing her 16-year-old through her whole school year. HARD, REAL HARD Rumsfeld has been criticized for sending too few troops to Iraq, leaving them stretched thin on extended deployments trying to help rebuild the country and fight a guerrilla war. He has urged allies to supply some 15,000 additional troops and hopes training Iraqi forces will ease the burden on U.S. troops. When the Armed Forces Network showed earlier footage of Rumsfeld saying that fresh U.S. troops were unnecessary in Iraq, soldiers at the base threw their hands in the air and shouted "No way" at the television. "I ain't happy. No way am I happy seeing that," said Specialist Devon Pierce, whose wife was due to give birth to his first son in two weeks. "This tour is hard, real hard. It's too much. It should be six months." Yep, successful..... REAL successful.

NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 Why the outrage, he is a fucking lead singer from a death metal band. I mean what did you expect? Are you dissapointed because a DEATH METAL SINGER didn't speak like an ivy league scholar. Look not everyone in this country is going to be intelligent, so when we see an example. just laugh the shit off, and stop getting so angry.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 The military operation can be considered a success if it was over after major combat. Up to that point it was a success, however at this point, you can hardly call it a success or even try and begin to say you will know the outcome. I mean the latest approximate occupation time given was a "generation" WTF does that mean? So we went from, one year to two years, to 5-10 years, to a GENERATION. Nice. Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2003 Agent, I think you underestimate death metal's popularity. Need I remind you that metal is one of the predominant POPULAR forms of music in Europe and Japan (and Japan's population is larger than that of the United States)? bob_barron 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2003 and Japan's population is larger than that of the United States From the 2003 World Almanac- USA- 280,562,489 Japan- 126,974,
Firestarter 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2003 (edited) Japan's population is larger than that of the United States From the CIA Factbook, as of July 2003: Japan, 127,214,499; United States, 290,342,554. Really, the Japanese must've had one hell of a population boom. Or does it depend on what the meaning of the word "is" is? Perhaps if the - if he - if "is" means is and never has been, that is not - that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement. Edit: Bob, you scooped me while I was flipping through my books, and I applaud you. Edited September 6, 2003 by Cancer Marney
