Mrnoitaull 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 Thq Question was/is: "Who will The Rock fight Next?" During an interview yesterday, The Rock gave the following quote when asked about returning to pro-wrestling: "I have a great relationship with Vince, but it's hard for me because I want something different every time I go back. Last time it was Goldberg, before that it was Hogan, but now, it's hard for me to envision who I would go back for." courtesy of Wrestlepalooza.com So..who do you think Rock would come back and face , seeing as though he only want's the top spot or close to it. Or do you think that the writing crew is so awry that he'd be put up against who they believe would interest the crowd?
dubq 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 Cena/Rock might be rather amusing... verbally anyways.

Guest Just J Report post Posted October 3, 2003 It could finally shoot Cena out of mid card hell. Plus the promos would be priceless.
Karc 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 I never did see the guy fight HBK on PPV. I guess no one here wants to see that anyway. We just have to push the younger talent. Rock has been doing that his whole career, so I give him a break. Verbally, it may not be as good as it might have been during the DX era on HBK's part, but whatever. Styles 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 Cena/Rock would be awesome just for the promos alone. Cena could trash Rock with this complex serious of rhymes, and Rock could just no sell it and be like "whoa whoa whoa...is that vanilla ice. Yeah! I love that dance you do" or something equally simple and just pop the crowd huge.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 3, 2003 Entertainment Wise, Cena would be the way to go and I'm feeling rock would rather have fun impromptu stuff with a guy like Cena then a "Serious" angle with someone like Benoit, where they can't do it the way to make Rock effective and rock would outclass Benoit... It doesn't say that he picks his opponents. He was asked who he'd like to work against when he comes back. Get it? And the Rundown was HARDLY a b-movie... haVoc 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 Rock is over, is a draw, makes Vince money and entertains me. Which is all I really ask for. Rock is so over he could easily come back as a tweener and feud with a couple different people at once. I like the 3 or 4 way battles/feuds. Their fun, we get decent matches and it keeps it fresh and exciting instead of the same two guys feuding week after week. You can switch up matches, tag matches, promos and it keeps going and going until the PPV blow off match. Let Brock and Taker have their main event feud and give Rock, Cena, Angle, Eddie and/or Benoit something to work with.

iamsherm 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 I'd love to see a Rock-Cena feud, but odds are it will be Orton-Rock.
Austin3164life 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 Thiking about it now, Cena/Rock would be a nice feud. Their match (assuming they do a big elevation match at WM XX) would be entertaining with Rock's bumping and Cena's acting, and it would be golden on the mic. I don't think it will happen though. If anything, Rock will probably make his return to Raw again.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 I wouldn't mind Brock vs Rock again. They've only butted heads the one time, and it was a good match.

Well, he'd have to do a hell of a lot better than reference Vanilla Ice for me to laugh. I find Rock's comedy to be often times over-rated (liked most of the stuff w/ Helms, though). Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 I for one applaud The Rock. He knew when his time was up, and is able to walk away. Of course, if something new pops up, he will probably be back, but for now he's safe in Hollywood making money.

Guest thrall585 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 (edited) I wouldn't mind Brock vs Rock again. They've only butted heads the one time, and it was a good match. They butted heads more than "one time", on Summerslam 02 and the 3/15/03 show Edited October 3, 2003 by thrall585
Just call me Dan 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 Not in a one-on-one match; SummerSlam 2002 was the only one. You know that; why try to pick apart the man's statement when you know it's true? EDIT: I don't remember that match, but i'll take your word for it. Still, i'm sure that was a 9 minute Smackdown match, and no match of PPV calibre. The couldn't have been giving it anywhere near the effort they gave at SS.

Just call me Dan 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 The Summerslam match was epic because the crowd was quite involved and it was Brock's first title. Both guys went really hard, and they were feuding for months at the time. there was never a Rock/Brock feud again, so in March of 2003, it could not have been as emotional. I'd also venture to say that 9 times out of 10 a PPV match between 2 guys will be better than a house show meeting. Also, it is rather nitpicky and unecessary for you to try and correct someone who says Rock/Brock happened once by pointing out a house show match. Get over yourself.
