Shanghai Kid 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2004 Hmm, I take it some of you guys don't know that Kwame is averaging 13 and 8 in the last two months? Now that he's getting consistent playing time he's improving rapidly. He has torched Jermaine O Neal, Elton Brand, Carlos Boozer, all in a few weeks span. Kwame has the size and speed to be the best big man in the East. It's too early to call him a bust because big man coming out of high school usually take a while to develop (Amare is the exception not the rule). You haters need to back off, Kwame will be an all-star within the next few years.

Once he jumped on Gilberts ass and reminded him he is suppose to DISTRIBUTE the ball, he has been playing better.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted March 4, 2004 I'll lay off Kwame, I was looking at the full draft year from when he was picked no.1 and there wasn't much to choose from. Pau Gasol was picked below him but one could forgive that, you never know how a foreign player will turn out. Horrible draft year right there, I mean Dear God. Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 Great win by the Wolves. Dallas looked lost without Kelly Leak...err Steve Nash. Remarkable Stat. Dallas took 108 shots, and failed to score 100 points. They had 62 at the half.
Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted March 6, 2004 Celtics have won 4 in a row. Chucky averaging 13 pts since coming to Boston. Had 17 tonight.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2004 I was almost worried that the Spurs would give up the 20+ lead in the final 5 minutes of the game when it dropped to 7 points. Did anybody see what made Michael Finely go crazy and attack Bruce Bowen for? How many players are now hating on Bowen's skills, Michael Finely, Ray Allen, etc.? Guest Redhawk Report post Posted March 6, 2004 I know the last straw for Finley was when Bowen knocked him down as they were running down the court. That's when Finley got up and threw the LEAST-SUBTLE ELBOW EVER at him. But I'm sure it was an accumulation of stuff. When the Spurs played the Sonics in Seattle a few weeks ago, Ray Allen said Bowen was tugging, pushing, and just generally taking shots at him all game long. Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted March 6, 2004 Kobe's arm fell off again. And I love when guys attack Bowen. I guess the're so suprised to see someone actually guarding people they get caught off guard and don't know how to react.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2004 A bad loss for Minnesota. They got big heads after dismantling Dallas Wednesday. The simple cannot afford to lose any games if they wanna get the #1. seed in the West. They're also only 3 games ahead of San Antonio. Here's a question about Yao.Why doesn't he get more rebounds? For a 7"6 with the talent of Yao he should be one of the league leaders, and I don't think he averages double digits.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2004 The Blazers are back to their underachieving selves it seems, if they're going to have a chance of making the playoffs they need to start winning again now. They still have to play Minnesota twice, San Antionio twice, the Lakers twice and Sacramento, as well as the two teams they're chasing in the Nuggets and Jazz, so with that sort of schedule they can't afford to keep falling further back. *awaits Blazers missing the playoffs by 1 game just to tease me*

Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted March 6, 2004 dude the Blazers will miss the playoffs by like 10 games. The're horrible. And It seems like Yao spends a lot of time on offense away from the basket, which could explain low rebounds (low for an 8 foot tall guy anyway)
Tony149 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2004 I wasn't worried about the Spurs' lead yesterday; my limit was 2 points, if Dallas got it down to that then I would of became worried. Smell the Ratings is right, Bowen is pissing guys off because they forgot some people still play D. While ESPN creams for high-scoring games and call the Spurs (mostly their Shootaround crew) "boring" because they aren't flashy, nice to see the old saying is true: "Offense sells tickets, defense wins championships." Yeah, it was just one game, but the Mavs and Kings -- the two highest scoring teams -- haven't won jack when the media is giving it to them on a silver platter (basically the Kings since everybody knows Mavs don't play D) while a "boring" defensive team has. I always get worried when a 20+ lead get down to single digits, the Spurs lost more than one game this way. Hell after the game with the Sonics which the Spurs won was dominated with highlights of the Sonics doing dunks. I can only see 4 teams that can win the Championship this year and it would be the Spurs, T-Wolves, Kings, or the Pacers. Lakers are falling apart injury by injury, the Mavs have no D and playing Danny Fortson or Eduardo Najera at the center is a joke.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2004 I have a feeling the NBA championship will be won by a team other than the Pistons, Bulls, Rockets, Lakers, or Spurs, giving us the first championship team that isn't one of those five since 1988. Add the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics to that list and you have the only teams that have won a championship since Magic Johnson and Larry Bird came into the league in 79-80. The Electrifyer 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2004 I hope San Antonio wins. A team with either Robert Horry or Steve Kerr have won all of the last 10 NBA Championship. Keep that streak alive, Horry!!!! Bah, actually I don't care for San Antonio much, I'm hoping an Eastern Conference team *cough*Pacers*cough* will win it. Tony149 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2004 I always get worried when a 20+ lead get down to single digits, the Spurs lost more than one game this way. I've become immune to the Spurs losing leads; it happened so many times last year -- especially in the playoffs -- it doesn't bother me anymore. That'll probably change in the playoffs. The West is taking the title this year. The East is a joke. The Pacers are the only threat there but they'd lose in 6 to any of the Elite 4 out West (Spurs, Kings, Lakers & T'wolves). I also need to go on some more ESPN bashing (which I never do). ESPN acting like "'Bron" leading the Cavs to the playoffs is huge is an even bigger joke -- the East will probably have 3 teams under .500 in the playoffs. But LeBron is God, so don't disrespect the almighty. If they get over. 500 then it'll mean something, but not now.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2004 the East will probably have 3 teams under .500 in the playoffs. I believe NY Knicks (new way to write it once the Nets move back) are in, 4 games under 500. Utah is out and 1 game above, last I checked.
The Fett 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2004 Here's a question about Yao.Why doesn't he get more rebounds? For a 7"6 with the talent of Yao he should be one of the league leaders, and I don't think he averages double digits. I've watched all of his games this season and the main reason is he's just too slow. He can't chase down the rebounds. His hands are also not very strong so he has trouble grabbing rebounds. This should improve once he adds some strength. He does do a great job of tipping rebounds to teammates and boxing out. But he'll never dominate the boards because he's just not mobile enough. Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2004 dude the Blazers will miss the playoffs by like 10 games. The're horrible. Oh i know they suck, the only reason i think they even have a slight chance is because everyone in contention with them for the final playoff spot in the West is playing bad too. The Sonics are ice cold, Utah have been average for a while, and even the Nuggets have fallen back to earth as of late, losing 7 out of their last 8 games. Unless Denver fall apart at the seams they won't make it, though today's stomping of Utah was a decent sign. If only they'd start Abdur-Rahim instead of worrying about the fragile egos of Randolph and Miles that may help.
Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted March 8, 2004 WOO! 5 Game winning streak baby. Welsch was GREAT. Atkins and Mihm was very solid, and Pierce was just totally awful. It was like his head was never in the game. Great win for the Celtics. I'm a believer in Ainge, always have been, but despite what he says about the playoffs, I want this team in and thats where we're headed. Minnesota Puppies!
