well when a one armed man puts up 20 shots it can be a drain on your team.

Portland with back-to-back wins over Minnesota and Sacramento, the Blazers continue their trend of seemingly always playing well against the Kings for some reason. They've beat one of the best teams in the NBA three times now (today and the two overtime wins), if they'd only play like that against any other teams they wouldn't be in the position they're in now.

And why they refuse to give decent minutes to an all-star calibre player who's capable of putting up 20 points and near 10 rebounds a game in Abdur-Rahim continues to perplex me though. Is it that critical to have Darius Miles out there?

Celtics are back at their old ways of sucking. The Lakers game was at least competitive, tonight the Pacers made them their bitch. I pray to God, we don't get the 8 seed in the east because that's a hell of a lot worse then a lottery pick.

Hey! The T-Wolves are the best team in the league right now, and Kobe is still injured. We'll see in the playoffs.

Does anyone think Karl Malone should have stayed with Utah (Besides Jazz fans)? He could have gotten the scoring title a whole lot sooner and he wouldn't have to live under the media microscope. I don't know but to me Malone doesn't seem like an LA or NY player.

No. Andre Kirilinko wouldn't have had his breakout season, and a couple of other guys would have been stuck in "give Karl the Ball so he can break his fucking record" mode. Keeping Karl would have allowed them to become the Boston Celtics...hung on to your old guns for way too long while youngsters came and went, and when they all retire, you are one of the shittiest teams in the league. I love Kevin Mchale, but someone should've been getting his minutes in his final years. Same here. Malone is done, whether he knows it or not.

Which young guns would have left Utah had Malone stayed one more year? The thing is, they're going to be just as good this year without Malone as they would have been with him. They'll either sneak into the playoffs and exit Round 1, or miss them. But with Malone, the fans have a reason to come out since he's a legend and all of that. Plus, he'd break the record sooner and retire sooner. As long as Kobe/Shaq/Payton are around, Karl's gonna be in L.A. for three years trying to break that record.

From a monetary standpoint, yes keeping Karl would have been a good idea. But simply put...the Jazz have better players than Karl Malone now that wouldn't have had a chance to show their stuff had he still been there.

The problem seems to stem from the fact that Abdur-Rahim plays the same position as Randolph.

Shareef has the ball handling and shooting ability to play the 3, but plays with his back to the basket alot since he is a 4. Miles has been playing well, but shareff can play just as well, or better at that position.

Theo Ratliff, Zack Randolf and Shareff is just a disgustinly powerful front line.

I honestly think a Laker rotation of Derek Fisher, Bryant, Fox, Malone and Shaq would be a lot more dangerous. Payton just does not want to run that offense and as a result, you have the Lakers struggling to beat terrible teams. Malone has went with it just fine, no reason the Glove cain't either.

I KNOW it would be a better lineup. Payton is not nearly the shooter that Fisher is. He is a slasher that can get to the lane. He ran most of his offense in Seattle from the post using his size to work the other PGs. If you have Shaq on a block, Malone at the top of the lane, and Kobe working for post position, he can do that there.

Like I said in the preseason, to get better the Lakers needed a defending PF and a better shooter from the bench. they ended up putting one of their best shooters on the bench and a karl malone who hasn't been a even decent defender in about 3 years now.

Scottie Pippen has retired, so they say on NBA Fastbreak. Thanks for everything, man, and I hope Chicago retires his number along with him.

I think they will, they have to. Scottie is one of the NBA Top 50 Players all-time and there is no doubt it my mind that Paxson will do the right thing and retire #33.

It's the night of the vengeful shitty teams~! Dallas falls to Atlanta and Sacto falls to Washington. Sadly, the Clippers are getting mauled by the Lakers but still, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

So Atlanta has beaten Los Angeles, San Antonio, Dallas, and Minnesota.

The Lakers are only a game and half behind Minnesota for 2nd place in the Western Conference. Very important if they should meet in the 2nd round.

Atlanta SWEPT Dallas, as a matter of fact.

Pacers get No. 50 against Portland last night, Blazers don't score for the last 5 minutes.

Sac comes in Friday, and I'LL BE THERE~

BTW, The Olympic roster has 9 locked spots:

Jermaine O'Neal

Kobe Bryant

Karl Malone

Jason Kidd

Tracy McGrady

Allen Iverson

Mike Bibby

Tim Duncan

Ray Allen

The final three looks like it could be Shaq, KG and LeBron. Kobe's spot may be vacated as well due to his trial.

I think Karl Malone should not go and get replaced by KG. The other spots should be for the 3 best rookies of this season: James, Anthony, Wade.

When exactly is Kobe's trial supposed to start? If he can't go, I'd give his spot to LeBron, then use the other three for Shaq, KG and 'Melo.

Mark Cuban's Blog

It was a long night for me. I guess I have to apologize to all Mavs fans for last night’s game. I took the Hawks too lightly. I thought I could prove to myself that superstitions are ridiculous. I thought of any game, this was the game where I didn’t have to wear the right shirt. I didn’t have to stop at 7-Eleven and get my two sugar-free Red Bulls and Diet Mountain Dew.

I tried to right the wrong at halftime when we were way down by changing shirts. It wasn’t enough.

It was a tough lesson, but I learned once again to never underestimate an NBA opponent.

If one didn't know better, you'd think he was a player.
