Sorry, had to get that in.  :)

On a serious note, Webber's statlines may look good, but he looks like he's walking in quicksand and didn't seem to give two shits about defense, at least not from the parts I watched.  The Kings are in deep shit.  They need to get it together and hang on to the division, or they may be looking at a first-round exit.

As for my Pacers, I can look ahead a little now that we've wrapped up the No.1 in the East.  Provided LA doesn't make the Finals, I honestly think we can take home the trophy. Sac would be tough, obviously, they beat us both games this year...course we didn't have Artest.

But I'm still sticking with SA until they're actually done in the playoffs.

I've already accepted that the Kings aren't winning it all this year. I mean sure there is still an outside chance, and of course I will be rooting for them, but the fact is their defense is TERRIBLE. Even in 2002 when they almost won it all, their D wasn't spectacular, but they could buckle down in cruch time. Now they are soft sanz Doug Christie. Plus Webber is about 50% His offensive numbers are coming up, but his lack of mobility that lets other players go right around him now where as before he could actually test them. Bobby Jackson is day to day, but is turning into dayS and it is hurting, BAD.

SA has a shot against the Lakers because they are probably the best defensive team in the Western Conference. If they can shut down the Lakers sanz Shaq/Kobe, they may just pull it off. Other then that, the road is paved for the Lakers.

If somehow the Kings get through the first round quick and can rest, and then work their way through the 2nd round in order to get 100% by the Western Conference Finals, then maybe they can pull it off. I still say that Sacramento at 100% this year would definately win it all, but Sac is far from that right now, and it is the WORST time for it to be happening.

Goddammit Sacramento.  No Miller tomorrow night vs. Mavs either, and WTF Bobby Jackson was supposed to be back 2 weeks ago.  UGH.  Only 1 game up now for the no. 1 seed.

Kings just lost to the Mavs and look like they could lose in the 1st round no matter who they play.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: watch out for the Utah Jazz.

I was thinking, what if the 5-8 beat the 1-4 in the West?

8 Utah d. 1 Sacramento because the Kings are crumbling apart now, evidently

7 Houston d. 2 Minnesota because the T-Wolves can't get out of the first round

6 Dallas d. 3 LA Lakers is doubtful, but a national following > national hating

5 Memphis d. 4 San Antonio has a sliver of possibility but probably not. I think Memphis would be smart to drop to 6 to get the Lakers or Kings, who I feel they'd have a better chance against. Jerry West even wanted LA in round 1.

I just know the NBA would be all over a Mavericks-Lakers series. Next year better be the year the Mavs win it all.

I think seeing a first round Utah (8) vs LA (1) upset is more probable than a Dallas one. Besides, if anyone ranked in the 5-8 seeds, Utah upsetting LA would be most fitting to watch. I can picture Karl Malone crying right now.

Celtics win! Celtics Win! Celtics Win! They've been looking real good lately, with the exception of the Texas road trip and I'm starting to believe that they should go for the playoffs. I don't think they can beat the Pacers or Pistons, but I think they've got a fair shot against everyone else.

Utah Vs LA would be a great 1 Vs 8 match up The scrappy young team that nobody thought would even when 30 games Vs the star studded, beloved team which features the scrappy team's former star. I'd much rather see that then Lakers- Trailblazers again or even Lakers-Nuggets (Although Lakers-Nuggets would bring the INTENSITY! due to Kobe's trial being near Denver and all.)

That would rule all. I just wish John Stockton came out of retirement for the end of the season, 10-day contract or whatever.

The sad thing is I think Memphis could beat Minnesota, and maybe even Sac if they continue to play like shit. But they'll get either the Spurs or the Lakers and get pounded.

Yeah that would be a perfect storyline, Malone Vs Stockton, who was the real star of the show. Although it's probably more likely the the Lakers pay him out retirement temporarily.

Stockton and Malone both on the Lakers would be a sign of the apocalypse coming.

Ah yes, the Passion of the Welsch~!

Imagine they joined the Lakers and John Stockton had to wear shorts to his knees to fit the "cool" Laker look? Now THAT would be a sign of the apocalypse.

HAHAHAHA...

All though I think that Stock would hike them up just because.

The way the two teams are playing right now, Memphis would obliterate the Kings.

The only team I think Memphis *can't* beat in a series is the Lakers.

In the battle for the 8th spot in the west all Portland had to do was ensure they didn't have to beat and Lakers and Spurs to make it, and typically they drop games to the Knicks and Hornets (missing Houston and Davis to boot), ensuring they probably do have to beat the Lakers and Spurs to make the playoffs. Had they just won those games they'd be closer to Houston than to the Nuggets and Jazz, but they just had to make things difficult.

* awaist Portland starting a new playoff streak next season after they blow it this year *

But that's the one team I want to to see them beat!

Damn, I forgot about this game...

35 points 4 minutes into the third quarter? Yeesh.

Eh, I'm not sweatin' it. We play better when behind anyway.

And now Kenny Anderson's hurt.

And Billups flops again. I'm in shock.

Wow, I just woke up late and tuned into the Detroit/Indiana game on ABC... and the 4th quarter just started and it's a 50/58 score game... in 4th!

Have they been playing good defense on each other or just both playing horribly?

I'm watching the Rockets vs Kings game on ABC which seems to be the better match up as its 84-79 Kings with the lead in the 4th with 6:00 to go. Chris Webber takes half of the game to warm up so I guess that makes him the Greg Valentine of the NBA.

Detroit should be able to get to 80, but they're notoriously not a good-shooting team.

And I'm not afraid to admit it, the Pacers are getting OWNED right now. This will be a very tough series for us.

Aaah yes, me love my detroit :-) In the last few weeks they've spanked both NJ and Indiana, the other biggies in the East. Feeling good about their playoff chances (though Indiana will still be a tough bitch if they face int he playoffs)

I honestly believe that Memphis can beat anyone in the playoffs in a series if it weren't for their lack of experience. And I don't think the Lakers want that 1 spot if Portland gets the last spot. little known secret in the NBA...Theo Ratliff plays Shaq incredibly well. Add in Zack, Shariff and how Miles has been playing, and the Blazers have a incredible defensive frount and a great PF that scores with his back to the basket or face up, a quick point guard and a deep bench and you have the "beat the shit out of LA formula"

Quick point guard, center that plays Shaq relatively well, and PF that can score with back to basket. The only teams that meet this criteria- San Antonio, Minnesota, Portland, Memphis.
