Guest JMA Report post Posted November 21, 2003 That seemed to be the message they were trying to get across on Smackdown. Frankly, I find it to be kind of silly. Are they trying to stay that Taker is missing and presumed dead? Or are they trying to say he's injured? We all know this thing was made to bring back The Deadman character, but what exactly are they trying to say?

Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted November 21, 2003 After being burried and dumped in a random location Marc Callaway suffers from amnesia and comes to believe he's actually a Shrimpin' Boat Captain. "Look-e here Brock. There's plenty of ways to cook shrimp...shrimp cocktail, shrimp burgers, shrimp kabob, shrimp on the Bar-B...but you better not be Bar-B-Qing in my yard!" Guest Coffey Report post Posted November 21, 2003 You see, this is just one of the reasons why I've always been against bringing back that ignorant "Deadman" gimmick. This is fucking ridiculous. Now the Undertaker is going to "return from the grave" and "no sell" even MORE offense.
Guest Goodear Report post Posted November 21, 2003 See the difference between Dead Man Taker was that he'd no sell everything (in an interesting way... I've been watching some old Royal Rumbles) while Bikertaker just sort of kicked the hell out of people for twice the amount of time of a normal guy. Best no sell, Taker is throwing a forearm at someone but gets hit in the stomach before he can toss it. He pauses for like a second in mid throw... and then finishes. I love little things liek that. Perfxion 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2003 How? he doesn't sell as it is. How can he no sell MORE of it.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2003 He sold more as the Deadman than he does as Biker Taker. Plus he doesn't humiliate his opponents as Dead Man. But I think that's more the product of him buying into his own hype as the only living legend in the WWE. So he'll probably still wrestle like Biker Taker...just in a different outfit. Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2003 I've watched Deadman Taker have great matches with the likes of Shawn and Bret and yes, he did sell. Not immediately, in fact, he usually no sells the babyface's opening offense and takes control. But once the comeback is made, he starts going with the flow and selling. Anyway, I think Taker is supposed to be "dead but not so dead that the audience really believes he's dead." Nobody is going to believe the guy who comes back is really dead, so it's more like a kayfabe "wink wink nudge nudge you all know what's coming" death. The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2003 it won't be any fun unless he comes out with Brother Love as his manager the first night... *GONG* That music still gives me chills...and the mark out factor will be HUGE...

haVoc 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2003 Or Heyman can pull double duty. I can't see them bringing back old school Deadman. Some how they will blend deadman and bikertaker so it won't be so cartoonish. At least I hope.

NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2003 Deadman gimmick with shorthair just won't look right. Part of the mystique was the long hair over the face and all you could see was the white of the eyes. Also, like mentioned before, IMO, the deadman gimmick is one of those ones where, once it's done.....it's DONE. I was hoping the goal was to make Kane NOT supernatural anymore, not to make UT go back to being Supernatural......LAME.
Guest Corino 1000 Report post Posted November 21, 2003 Didn't they do the same thing to Undertaker at Royal Rumble 94. Where supposively died and then came back. Guest gregb7677 Report post Posted November 21, 2003 I was totally against the whole thing until I heard what Kane had to say last night. At the moment it makes a bit of sense, but of course they have plenty of time to screw it up by WM.
Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted November 21, 2003 You knowm this got me thinking: how many wrestlers have no-sold death?
