Ravenbomb Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 What're some movies that haven't even hade a first release on DVD but should? All I can think of is A Face in the Crowd, Wizards (that 70's cartoon movie), Schindlers List and the obvious Star Wars movies. Anyone else have any?
Boner Kawanger Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Schindler's List is coming early next year, the original Star Wars trilogy is rumored to be released next November, and I'd be the first one to buy A Face in the Crowd, but I haven't heard anything about it.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 I'd really like a fully loaded version of Dead Alive, commentary and all. Hell, I'd love to see how they did a lot of the effects too frankly. For whatever reason, I think we may get that just so some random company can hype up the fact that a Peter Jackson film is coming to DVD in special edition format or something. This is a bit unlikely but I would like to find a Battle Royale special edition DVD where the 2nd disc's extras actually has English subtitles. I can't read Korean it seems. Hm.

Mole Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Seinfeld. Once that is released I can die happy.
Ravenbomb Posted December 3, 2003 Author Report Posted December 3, 2003 *facepalm* How could I forget Orgazmo?
Brush with Greatness Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 There was actually a two disc special edition of Orgazmo in the works and all put together with documentaries and shit that sounded really funny and it was pulled last minute by the production company. Unless of course you were being sarastic with your comment. Then, I can only assume that you like Depeche Mode and thus are a queer. (not that there's anything wrong with that)
Downhome Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 I want a Criterion Collection version of The Game.
the max Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Quick Change comes immediately to mind. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ One of the most underrated comedies ever.
razazteca Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 I want a Criterion Collection version of The Game. Michael Douglas and Sean Penn movie? Or another movie where people hunt people for sport?
Guest El Satanico Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Doesn't Orgazmo have a DVD out? I could've swore it did.
Guest Boo_Bradley Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Quantum Leap Northern Exposure Evening Shade (Burt!) as far as movies.... West World
Karnage Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Doesn't Orgazmo have a DVD out? I could've swore it did. I think its a bootleg.

5_moves_of_doom Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 For movies, I'd say #1 for me is Eraserhead, along with a whole bunch of Marx Brothers movies (only four are on DVD, I believe.) As for TV shows... we need Daria. Now. Desperately. PLEASE GIVE US DARIA.
Guest El Satanico Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Doesn't Orgazmo have a DVD out? I could've swore it did. I think its a bootleg. There is one, but it's a single disc fullscreened Import.
MDH257 Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 (edited) For movies, I'd say #1 for me is Eraserhead Eraserhead is available at davidlynch.com, but I think it's $40 and has no bonus features. At the top of my list: Dazed and Confused S.E. Goodfellas S.E. Bottle Rocket S.E. (Criterion, to go along with Rushmore and The Royal Tennenbaums). From the "never been on DVD yet" file: Short Cuts Hearts of Darkness (the Apocalypse Now documentary) and Special Edition releases of: The American President Batman & Batman Returns Big The Deer Hunter Dog Day Afternoon Get Shorty Mean Streets Meatballs Misery Raging Bull Stripes Trainspotting Edited December 4, 2003 by MDH257
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 I personally need the Dawn of the Dead to get fucking re-released. Only should have to wait a few months for that though. fuck a few months though.
Guest Waldo Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 TV Series: Beavis & Butthead (season sets with videos) Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air Quantum Leap Salute Your Shorts
Guest El Satanico Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Seems like I read awhile ago that there was a Monster Squad DVD in the works. I shouldn't address waldo, but B&B with videos will never happen.
Zack Malibu Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 The Garbage Pail Kids Movie. Give me that, and I will never ask for anything else to be made again.
Guest El Satanico Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 We can't even get a new pressing of the old ass VHS tape. The company that has the rights clearly has no interest in producing videos, so unless some other company buys the rights, we may never see it on DVD. However, with DVD being a cash cow maybe it will encourage the rights holder to try making money of it. I demand a 2-disc SE of Howard The Duck!

On Ebay, they have brand new tapes, but they're Australian format. Either someone found a buried treasure in a wharehouse, or the other continents have robbed us of something great once again. Fuck, I totally forgot to mention Howard, which is odd seeing as how I watched it just about a week ago.

Betty Houle Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Seinfeld. Once that is released I can die happy. You have a year left of living miserably.
