Guest PowerPB13 Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 --Raw on 12/22 will be a taped best-of-Raw 2003 show. I shudder to think that will be considered best of. The Smackdown show on 12/25 will be taped in Iraq for the troops. Well, I guess they saw the TNA idea and did it one better. Credit: Wrestlingobserver.com -Patrick
Crippler Crossface Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 ... IN IRAQ?!?!?! Please tell me Bradshaw will be kept in a cage while the WWE is over there and not let out... please...
Guest ligerbomb03 Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 Better watch out for those roadside landmines, Vince.
Guest drdrainoscott Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 I saw this coming a mile away. I mean, you didn't think that Vince would let Bush upstage him did you?
Ultra Violence Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 WWE.com: During a brave forray into Iraq Vincent Kennedy McMahon was mysteriously killed by a single shot to the head by an iraqi freedom fighter. The mysterious iraqi was heard to be singing something that resembled the Motorhead song Evolution. The mysterious iraqi was later seen with a briefcase containing $100000!~ The WWE board of directors have decided to turn the company over to the able leadership of Mr McMahon's daughter's husband Paul Leversque. Our condolences go out to Mr McMahon's family and his several misteresses.

Interpret that however you wish. -Patrick

Michrome Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 This is great, the boys over there need some fun diversion. Whatever the motives are, I don't care...I'm happy they're doing this.
Guest drdrainoscott Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 Seriously, though, I wonder if Sgt. Slaughter will have the guts to show his face in Iraq...not that any of the Iraqi citizens were ever allowed to watch WWF in 1991, but still.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 I'm sure the Smackdown crew is ecstatic they get to be in Iraq for Christmas and not with ther families.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 I can see it now, the return of Tiger Ali Singh. He has a huge fanbase over there.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 It's taped on 12/23. How long is the flight home? They'll still get home late Christmas Eve. Its a stupid money making idea by Vince McMahon. His life may be pointless and only revolve around wrestling, but what about the guys who want to be home with their families? Its a cruel thing to impose on his employees. There's a difference flying across America on the 23rd than flying across the world.
buffybeast Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 I do believe the boys get paid extra for overseas shows. And they probably will have that weekend off. They'll be ok.
Guest JMA Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 Send the Iron Sheik there and say "Iran numbah one!" Of course, that could get him shot...
Ravenbomb Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 the boys over there need some fun diversion Then why is WWE going over there?
Michrome Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 haha. You know, I just assumed 12/23 cause it's usually filmed on Tuesday, but I don't think theres anything preventing them from doing it like a week before or something.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 Wow, their taking a pretty huge risk.
claydude14 Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 As long as it doesn't turn into one giant "PATRIOTIC LOVE AMERICA" show...
lomasmoney Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 that is so stupid. do they want to get the entire roster killed
Spaceman Spiff Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 As long as it doesn't turn into one giant "PATRIOTIC LOVE AMERICA" show... You're kidding, right? That's *EXACTLY* what it's going to be like. And Bradshaw is ME'ing.
The Metal Maniac Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 I'm sure the Smackdown crew is ecstatic they get to be in Iraq for Christmas and not with ther families. Somehow, I doubt they'll get any sympathy from the soldiers, I can tell you that...
Guest BobBacklundRules Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 It's taped next week to cap off the overseas tour.
cawthon777 Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 His life may be pointless and only revolve around wrestling, but what about the guys who want to be home with their families? Its a cruel thing to impose on his employees. I have a feeling that whoever works the show is doing it because they want to go to Iraq, not because Vince is putting a gun to their head.
The Mandarin Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 not because Vince is putting a gun to their head. I can just imagine this all taking place in Spanky's apartment. Getting a gun put to his head because he refused to job to Matt Morgan in Iraq. "Now, what does Matt Morgan look like?" "Uh..he's big?" "Go on." "Uh..kind of lacking in talent." "Does he look like a hoss?" "What?" (gunshot to the shoulder)
MarvinisaLunatic Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 Uh..where is it going to be held? I seriously doubt there are any arenas in Iraq and holding a wrestling show outdoors in Iraq would be kinda stupid.
Hektik Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 I think it will be held in the American Base. My guess is that they will build a make shift stadium like the one for Wrestlemania 9.
Steviekick Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 As much as it would be nice to entertain the troops over in Iraq, this can only be summed up in the words of Han Solo... "I've got a bad feeling about this." Can't they just give out some more T-Shirts and have Bradshaw and co. go to visit?
