7 Teens Killed During Police Car Chase

Recommended Posts

So am I the only one who shows some semblance of sympathy for the deceased?

They made their own bed.

This is all true, but it's still a tragedy to die young. Maybe it wasn't a tragedy that they crashed in a car, but that they chose to do it in the first place. I don't know, it might be stupid, but people shouldn't die for being stupid. As funny as the jokes on the board may be, it still sucks to see someone die so young. But I'm not going to bother arguing.

They REALLY Fucking disserved it, and should have ran over their parents too.

Retards. Probably Suburb rich cocksuckers.

Wow, fuck yourself. You can't even spell deserved so you must not be any older than them, anyway. That also takes away any right you have to refer to them as "retards". They were teenagers acting crazy like teenagers do. Nobody deserves death over something like that. Nothing in that article gives you any reason to think they are suburb rich cocksuckers. So what if they were rich? Are you still upset because your mommy and daddy had no money or something? They were horsing around and it got out of hand, simple as that.

I wish that they had took more teens like them with em, and the parents also if they allowed them to do bullshit.

Maybe I'm just idealistic, but whatever happened to redemption? You can be callous and say these "stupid shits" deserved it, but in all honesty don't you think it's a tad over the line to say that all other "stupid shits" should be dragged with them? Is there the *slightest* possibility that others can change their ways before something terrible happens and grow up, or would it just satisfy you personally to hear that more teenagers are dying? I didn't throw innocent in there, because they're not. It's just that I find it a little scary that you think a suitable punishment for these other people who have yet to outright harm someone is for them to die.

Thank God someone on this board has a brain and a heart. Hard to find that combo together lately.

Horsing around?

Running around the pool is horsing around.

A far cry from Grand Theft Auto.

I'm beginning to realize that I had awful teenage experience.

I drove a car like a mature human being, I didn't do drugs, and hell, I just said no.

I want a reset.

Yes, it's bad that these kids died, but no one is to blame but themselves. And don't give the 'they were just kids' excuse. I'm a kid, and I know that stealing, speeding, and running from the cops is not the way to go. Having fun is one thing; being stupid and endangering lives is a completely different thing.

Being Stupid: Me and five other friends playing football at 2 a.m. on a cul de sac and a neighbor calling the cops. (true story)

Endangering lives: Me and five other friends in a car with a spare tire for one wheel, driving 80 mph and speeding away from the po-pos.

Hopefully the maggots have already started their feast on these bodies...

You let your momma ground you?

Dude, that's when you say "Damn, woman, why you be ruining my FLAVA, BIOTCH?!?!?!"

Then you backhand her and she'll leave you alone.

Dude, you can't let playa-haters shut ya down, dog.

-=Mike

Because if I backhanded her I wouldn't have been allowed to drive the mini-van to the big dance later that month.

Oh, and it's "dawg," not "dog."

You're so white...

So am I the only one who shows some semblance of sympathy for the deceased?

No, I do too, but mainly because I know how much it sucks to lose friends and loved ones in car wrecks. Personally, I'd be thankful if I didn't know that, instead of dancing on a 14 year old's grave because he got in the back seat of a car with a bunch of other kids. I suppose lofty jackoffs like Anglesault will be favoring Saudi Arabian law next, where thieves get their hands chopped off, and a DUI equals a bullet in the head from the cop on the scene. God forbid someone like you ever does anything wrong, right?

I'm beginning to think that the recurring theme on this board is that once you do something wrong, you are lesser of a human being and therefore don't deserve the same rights.

In some cases, like Saddam Hussein, this is justified. Hell, if I was one of the soldiers I would have shot him in the face.

In others, like a bunch of kids stealing a car, it just doesn't seem right. It is sad, but most people here are happy that they crashed. In fact, I'm sure that they would have rather had them crash and burn as opposed to, you know, just getting caught and getting another chance at life. Interestingly enough, some of the things said here are pretty dastardly in and of themselves.

I'm just curious; how many of you think that Ed Norton was justified in curbing that guy for stealing his car? I mean GTA deserves to get someone killed, and they probably would have endangered someone's lives while driving off, so...

You know, I hate to bring posters into this, but seems to be the only way some of you will understand an alternative viewpoint, so, here we go.

What if Sass or CWM, to posters with well chronicled alchohol addictions died in an accident due to drunk driving? Would your responses be the same? Would you make jokes and still sling around your venemous replies? The situation would be similar. Lives would be in danger. Their own actions would have taken them out.

And as far as stupid people deserving to die, well, since it's like that, I think MikeSC should have been on the hood of the car when it crashed for his awful and as normal, borderline racist sterotypes. Of course, that's par for the course here at our lovely web community.

EDIT: This is not a knock on Sass or CWM by the way, and I hated to bring them and their skeletons into this situation, but for the thick headed around here, you have to paint big pictures for them, words don't seem to work anymore.

I didn't shed any tears for the guy that got curbed.

I probably wouldn't make all of the comments I have made in this thread because it would probably result in my banning, but I defiantly would say, "fuck 'em, they made their bed." (And like the person that brought up this question, no offense to either one of these posters – hopefully each can defeat the demons in each of their closets.)

I really don’t talk to Sass or CWM, so I think a more accurate person to use in my case would be MikeSC or DrTom (no offense to either one of these two, too).

I just don't understand why some of you guys are being so lenient on what these kids did and could have done. This was not simply a mistake. It's time for teenagers to realize that they are not invicible and yes, it can happen to them. It's awful that it had to end up the way it did, but if it gets the message to other stupid teens who think that the bad stuff will never happen to them, maybe there's an upside.

I'm not being lenient, as I actually think that they brought their death upon themselves. It doesn't make it any less tragic though.

Absolutely.

Look, maybe the kids dying in the backseat are a tragedy. Maybe, those young kids deserved a second chance. But the one behind the wheel and the ones who helped steal the car? They made their own bed.

Also, Tragedy:

Cancer, getting AIDS cause you tried to stop someone bleeding who had it, a little girl/boy caught in a gang crossfire just because they were walking home from school, murder, getting hit by a drunk driver, getting hit by someone speeding from the police.

That's tragedy.

Stealing a car and dying cause you ran from police and endangered the lives of others. That's not tragedy. And it's also not "kids being kids". Like CC said, kids KNOW right from wrong and we all knew that crossing those lines meant we may not get a second chance. They didn't get a second chance, sad sure but that is the risk any of us take when we step across that line.

The one chance, the driver at the very least, at redemption was to stop the car and accept their fate. But he/she decided to push that line and turned their back on the chance. I don't feel bad cause someone done tripped.

If you want to say the ones in the back deserved a second chance? Fine, I'll go with that. Unless one of them said "Punch it".

But I'm not going to call this a tragedy.

I don't think we should trivialize these situations by comparing it to other possibilities. I didn't know that there was a scale of "tragicality". Is 9/11 not as tragic as the earthquake in Iran that happened recently because 3000 people died as opposed to 40 000, in addition to the countless people that lost their homes and the like? Obviously not, they're both horrible, and we shouldn't look at either as less important.

It's odd how little coverage the Earthquake got. I don't even remember seeing a thread about it on this board. Could be wrong though.

I should have dated myself -- I was also including you going on "you're a racist!" tangents at posters like Downhome and Mike SC over the Cincy cops kill 400-lb black guy thread. Stuff like that really grates on my nerves.

Idiotic posts are when you're using racial stereotypes to try and draw laughs.

Too bad what Mike said wasn't "borderline racist" tsk tsk.

But I'm not going to get on you too much man. I'd ask you to stop acting niggardly, but I don't want you accusing me of being a racist, too...

You're ignoring the point and changing the subject. Both of those were tragities because the people that died had no control over their deaths and did nothing to bring it upon themselves. Those kids brought upon their own deaths through their stupid and reckless behavior. I am not going to say "I'm happy they died" but I am very relieved no one innocent was hurt by their reckless, dangerous actions. Better them and no one else than a friend or family member of mine or anyone else who did not deserve to have their lives ended by a bunch of morons with no common sense or decency...

I believe you have me confused with Ripper as I didn't post very much in that thread at all, but if that's what you choose to believe, go right ahead. In fact, I was on other boards defending the cops actions. But, hey, like I said, you're admittedly not the sharpest knife in the drawer, so I can't be too hard on you for your lapses in memory. How do you even know the Reverand's are going to get involved anyway? I wish KKK didn't even bring it up, because then you have closet racists like DH who are just waiting in the wings to say something negative about black people or the black establishment, what little there is.

Come out of the closet DH, we don't like cowards!

I will say that you did clarify your remarks later on in that thread, and you are on the right side of the main debate in this thread. I just get annoyed when the "r" word is thrown around, and I overreacted...

Yes.

You drive drunk and you ASK FOR WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU. I'm supposed to feel BAD for somebody who does something personally destructive and dies from it?

It'd be like me deciding to tie a blindfold on before I go out driving. I'd be impaired by MY OWN BLEEDING IDIOCY. If I died while driving blindfolded --- I'D DESERVE TO DIE.

So CWM has a drinking problem? I didn't know and I do not care. But, knowing this, the solution is shockingly simple: HE SHOULDN'T DRINK.

NOBODY forced him to drink the first time.

NOBODY forced him to let it get out of control.

NOBODY makes him drink now. I do not care if he does now. I assume he does not, but it doesn't impact my life one way or the other, since he doesn't live near me.

If he does so and he kills himself in an accident, there is ONE person in the world whose fault it is --- HIS.

I truly have sympathy for is personal responsibility. It was killed years ago, and it is apparently the same.

And as far as stupid people deserving to die, well, since it's like that, I think MikeSC should have been on the hood of the car when it crashed for his awful and as normal, borderline racist sterotypes. Of course, that's par for the course here at our lovely web community.

Ah, so because you disagree with me, I deserve to die --- but stupid little putzes who steal a car, speed, and drive recklessly don't?

BTW, way to continue to diminish actual racism in this country. Kudos to you. Keep calling me a racist. Doesn't hurt my feelings, considering that it isn't true. It'd be like me calling you glib, intelligent, or claiming that you are capable of being a positive influence on anybody's life. Claims do not mean that they are true.

In a world full of idiots, you are the master of your domain.

I love the alleged stereotypes here. I don't know the race of the collection of morons --- nor do I care. I am not sure how race factors in here.

EDIT: This is not a knock on Sass or CWM by the way, and I hated to bring them and their skeletons into this situation, but for the thick headed around here, you have to paint big pictures for them, words don't seem to work anymore.

As always, your bleeding heart has taken precious bloodflow from your poorly functioning brain.

Let's say CWM or Sass, while driving drunk, plow into a minivan full of kids and kill all of them while surviving the accident themselves (hardly a rare occurence).

I guess it would be those kids fault for being out on the road while two drunks were out driving.

Just to clear something up, I have been sober for about 5 years now and have not indulged in anything alcohol or drug related during this time.

If I got behind the wheel of a car intoxicated and I hit someone or killed myself, I would not want anyone, be it family or friends, to feel sorry for me since I was the one who got into the car and got behind the wheel without thinking about the probable consequences of me driving drunk and/or stoned.

Oh and part of me feels sorry for the kids only because they were young (being a dad now I'm more sympathetic to situations like these) but the kids did themselves in and I hope their parents realize this.

Hopefully some folks (namely high schoolers) can learn from something like this and not go around thinking they are invincible (like CC brought up).

Fair enough. And congratulations. I whole-heartedly support anybody who seeks to resolve their issues and refuse to blame others for their problems. It is a sign of maturity.

Mike:

I wanted to say that when you made your post a couple months back in the LSD folder about how your crazy ex (?) attacked you, I thought that was very ballsy of you to do so since I doubt many other guys here (or even in 'real' public) would admit to such a thing.

Just wanted to get that out.
