That sounds WAY too Smark-ish. I highly doubt any wrestler would define someone by how much they draw, otherwise everyones the blame. If someone DID say it, it's either Brock or Big Show, but I still think it's BullShit.

Why not? You hear guys like Ole Anderson (shoot interview) and Dusty (in the Flair DVD), to name a few, talk about "drawing money", so why wouldn't today's guys use it? Especially in reference to a guy like Taker who hardly "gives the rub" to the younger guys (never did a clean job to Cena, beat Brock & Show in a 3-way to set up a feud w/ *Vince*), and who always works to make sure he gets his win at WM to preserve his streak. If anybody has a right to throw around "smart" talk, it's guys in the business.

The funny thing is that Raw has been better than Smackdown for a good while now, yet it gets the "more intense" pep talk.

Raw never gets pre-empted for real sports..........unless you remember the dog shows from the USA days.

But that's because Spike TV doesn't cover any sports.

Just wait one day Raw will lose its time spot for NASCAR, Monster Trucks, Rodeo.

GOLDBERG UPDATE, NEWS FROM LAST NIGHT'S MEETING AND MORE BACKSTAGE NOTES FROM RAW

As they did at last week’s Smackdown, WWE had a talent meeting before Raw last night. It was made clear that the meetings will be a weekly event, as they will be at Smackdown as well, where Vince McMahon and company will critique matches from the previous week, “not as a way of criticizing the talent but instead as a teaching tool”. The wrestlers were told to watch the recent match between HHH and Shawn Michaels as being an example of what the guys need to do to get their work over and make him or herself a better character. There was the usual talk of stepping up and seizing opportunities, though a number of people that I spoke with thought that rang hollow since it’s up to creative to give them chances to do so, not to mention that Shawn and HHH got a half hour of TV time for their match. Vince also talked about the landscape of the business today, making reference to “Ted Turner folding his tent and walking away from wrestling”, even though Turner was not in the position to do so at the time WCW was sold. A few people who were at the meeting actually told me that they believe Vince himself is starting to think that some of WWE’s revisionist history concerning the WCW wars is actually true now.

 

Something else that had a number of the wrestlers laughing after the meeting came from a comment that Vince made when he addressed the troops. He said that it always shocks him when a wrestler turns his back to his opponent in the ring. Of course, as the wrestlers pointed out to me, there is no one guiltier of that transgression that Vince’s son-in-law.

 

According to the people I spoke with today, the general feeling was that if you had to bet right now on whether Goldberg would be with WWE after WrestleMania, the smart money would be placed on him not being around. That is, of course, hardly scientific.

 

There weren’t a lot of glowing feelings after the weekend house show tour through Canada. The houses weren’t great (and get worse after the conversion from the Canadian to US dollar) and because of the fact that they chartered a jet, the wrestler payoffs aren’t expected to be very good.

Allright, so from now on Shawn will simply carry everyone on the roster to at least *** matches. First two people he'll face are Randy Orton and Batista. Then Trips will officially end his career. Maybe Flair will get a chair shot in, it's not 100% certain yet.
