Guest rawmvp Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Here are some of the matches being discussed: Brock Lesnar vs. Bill Goldberg - Interpromotional match Undertaker vs. Kane - Interpromotional match Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Benoit - RAW Title Steve Austin vs. Vince McMahon Eddie Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle - WWE Title Triple H vs. The Rock Cruiserweight Title Battle Royal Batista, Flair, Orton vs. Foley, Dudley Boyz Chris Jericho, Edge vs. Christian, Matt Hardy RVD vs. Booker T - Intercontinental Title Initially, Brock and Goldberg were going to go into the match as the champions of their respective brands; however, although it would've been a Non-Title match, most believe that it would've tarnished the loser and his respective brand as the "inferior brand." NYU Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 I personally like that WrestleMania XX card but it really remains to be seen how accurate it will turn out to be. This would mean: a) HHH is willing to go to a WrestleMania without a title b) Kurt Angle wins the WWE Title from Brock, and they ACTUALLY give Eddie Guerrero a Heavyweight Title Shot. c) They have RVD or Booker T win the IC title from Randy Orton. d) They actually give a fuck about the cruiserweights e) They actually remember they have a wrestler named Matt Hardy. -------------------------------------- They actually looks like a pretty sweet card. But I highly doubt some of that stuff will actually stick. Guess we'll have to see....

I realize that it would be ridiculous to have a TLC with Edge in it (because of his neck) but I can't see this being a straight-up tag match. And does this mean that HBK will win the title at the Rumble now?

Angle will become extremely peeved at Eddie for going against true American ideals; for instance, real American heroes don't cheat. Eventually, this will be the driving force for Angle's heel turn and WWE Title match at WM XX.

Eddie Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle - WWE Title Should be a fine match, but it better be Eddie who is the Champ in this, and he better retain. I don't need another Angle title reign, thankyou... Triple H vs. The Rock See McMahon Austin. Should be OK, though Cruiserweight Title Battle Royal A waste of the cruisers (what did you expect) but at least they make the show... Batista, Flair, Orton vs. Foley, Dudley Boyz eeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww........Foley comes outta retirement for this? No fucking thankyou. Why don't they just make it Flair/HHH vs. Foley/Rock? Chris Jericho, Edge vs. Christian, Matt Hardy Well...at least Jericho makes the show... RVD vs. Booker T - Intercontinental Title Why? Overall, it's better than some of the Mania cards I've seen thrown around but I can't honestly see some of those (Foley match, Benoit match, IC match, Jericho match, CW match) actually taking place.

The only match from that list that I would like to see is Eddy/Angle. I still think Brock should headline with Benoit (keep building to the feud), and I DON'T want to see Austin wrestle McMahon, of all guys, if he decides to do one more match. It sounds like they hyped themselves into a corner and don't know how to deliver.

clean rob Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 Like others, I suspect this is just a list of matches one person suspects will be on the card, and most of them probably won't make the final card. However, I for one would not complain if that was the WMXX card, you couldn't ask for a better potential pair of title matches really. The interpromotional matches and Austin/Vince won't be anything special technically, but they should bring in good buyrates and have plenty of heat. HHH and Rock always go well together in the ring and the cruiserweights (who will, I expect, be extremely happy just making the card) should put on an enjoyable spotfest. The rest of the card looks solid apart from the 6-man tag...they should really think of something a little more interesting for Foley (and something at all for Cena).

Besides the fact that it's VERY questionable they planned all these matches out, too many of them classify as a "smarks dream" match.

Although for argument's sake, we'll probably get Cena/Show and the obligatory women's title match before the main event. Then there's something like WGTT/Bashams and Cade/Jindrak vs Someone (are there any face teams on raw besides the Dudleys?). Speaking of the main event, out of these matches, which would be on last? I'd put Benoit/HBK last, but somehow I doubt Vince would agree with me.
