Guest hunger4unger Report post Posted February 3, 2004 WWE continues to be in touch with rapper Proof about a WWE appearance or deal. Proof's camp was hoping that if he worked out a deal with WWE, he could also get his friends, the Colding Brothers, WWE deals. The Colding Brothers have been working the indy scene and WWE gave them a few tryout matches but did not have any interest in them. WWE does still have interest in Proof though, possibly for a WrestleMania XX rap battle with John Cena. WWE tried very hard to get a mainstream rapper to come in and have a battle with Cena at WrestleMania last year, but it didn't work out. Source: Wrestling Observer. I'm wondering if this is the Proof from D-12? If it is he's amazing at freestyline. I wonder if he'll allow Cena to "get over" on him, especially as Cena, although talented himself and humorous, isn't in the same league. Secondly, who on earth are The Coding Brothers?! Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted February 4, 2004 Cornette would make Cena his bitch, and wouldn't have to make it rhyme. Bullshit. Why must everyone be so pretentious and always proclaim Cornette to be a GOD. I don't think anyone in NA gets this much praise. I wouldn't necessarily call his latest system, OVW, a success. So lets maybe bring down the Cornette = greatness equation fora bit.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2004 Maybe I'm just really, really ignorant when it comes to rap, but I have never heard of this guy. Ever. Here's more information for those who don't follow hip-hop too closely... Raw and rambunctious from the outset, D12 includes Eminem and five of his Motor City co-di's who, like him, double-up on their personas in order to unleash more uncontained rowdy energy. Denaun a.k.a Kon Artis, Big Proof a.k.a. Dirty Harry, Swift a.k.a Swifty McVeigh, Kuniva a.k.a. Rondell Beene, and Bizarre a.k.a. Peter S. Bizarre. The six-man crew met seven years ago at Detroit's Hip Hop Shop, a local hangout where emcees of all calibers would gather in hopes of droppin' a verse or two during the store's "Saturday open-mic sessions." Still unknown, Em had stepped to a local producer, Kon Artis, to come up with some beats for Em's indie-release Infinite. Meanwhile, word about "the ill white boy" was getting around to another of Detroit's most notorious emcees, MC Proof. The two squared off and instantly gained respect for each other. "I remember we both said the same obscure punch-line to each other," remembers Proof. ------ "We made a pact years ago," says the click's most notorious member, Eminem, "which ever one of us gets signed comes back for the rest." Devils Night attests to that team loyalty the group abides by. While all members made their debut on "Under the Influence," off the Marshall Mathers LP, the world got an official full dose of D12 with their first release, "Shit On You," a relentlessly sinister, off the wall tirade featuring the production skills of DJ Head. He's also in the movie 8-Mile, though I'm blanking on which of Eminem's rivals he played in the picture.
vermilion 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2004 The Proof that's in Def Jam: Vendetta isn't a real person. THIS Proof I'm guessing is from D-12, Eminem's best friend. He's a pretty damn good freestyler too. I think this is a stupid idea b/c any half-way decent rapper could beat Cena badly.

The only rappers I know are the ones like Puff Daddy, Eminem, Nelly, ect. who are constantly in the media.

It doesn't make sense anyway, seeing that the D-12 Proof is signed to Shady records and wouldn't be in DJV.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted February 4, 2004 (edited) Proof? Boo! We want Fabulous! AHEM! That's F-A-B-O-L-O-U-S! Okay, I know I suck at spelling, but I can handle the word fabulous. Maybe I'm just really, really ignorant when it comes to rap, but I have never heard of this guy. Ever. Of course not. Why get a rapper that someone out of the rap fan circle might have heard of? Silly girl. Edited February 4, 2004 by Anglesault

justcoz 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2004 Eminem isn't in bad shape, he looks like he works out. They would get SO MUCH publicity if they could get him to do an angle and possible match with John Cena. That's the type of thing that would actually bring in new fans also. He'd need to be in training by now to make Mania though. I'm sure he'd be a prick and wouldn't want to job either. Hey, if P Diddy can run marathons, I'm sure he could learn to take a few bumps and Mania is in his home turf. Who wouldn't pay $50 to see P Diddy get his ass kicked? LISTEN TO THE PITTSBURGH MUSIC SCENE
