Look at the WWF a few years ago..._everyone_ had a catch phrase.

Austin: Several

Rock: Tons

Road Dogg: His prematch thing

Godfather: His prematch thing

Big Show: "And that's the last word!"

X-Pac: "Your ass is grass and we're gonna smoke it"

Angle: "It's true, it's true"

HHH: "I am that damn good"

Jericho: Several

Foley: Several

Etc, etc.

Now look today. Jericho still has some (his "sanctimonious S.O.B thing"), Austin occasionally busts out "And that's the bottom line...", Cena has some catch phrases which have caught on. But there's a definite drop there. Was it just that in you were expected to have one back in the Russo days? What do you think happened, or am I just crazy for recognizing this? :)

The World Strongest Man just gave you the Worlds Strongest Slam!!!

I smell money in that one.

They're trying to move towards a different era, but all this is is a shell of the attitude era. Some right moves were made by pushing Guerrero, Lesnar, and Benoit, however when Triple H and Shawn rule Raw, there isn't a lot of room for development.

Yeah, it's called SHUT UP AND WRESTLE.

Big Show: "And that's the last word!"

I don't remember that for some reason but it sounds well rubbish

I don't think anyone has a catch phrase just cus they can't think of any. Cena and Jericho have them because they are talented like that.

He used it briefly in 1999, around WrestleMania 15.

Didn't catch on though...thankfully.

Unfortunately, your new signature is not true.

For example, Booker T and RVD have developed into great mid-card jobbers.

Michael Cole has a catchphrase. He says it every segment on SmackDown!

"Wait a minute!"

Unfortunately, it has not caught on and only annoys.

How about John Cena ("Word Life, "You Can't See Me")? Booker T ("Can you dig it?")? RVD ("R-V-D" Creative, huh?)?

The only reason I think there seems to be a bit of a decline in catchphrases is that Rock isn't around. Seriously, I think that's the only reason.

I think it's GOOD that we don't have so many catchphrases these days.

Road Dogg's entrance crap was the most annoying thing ever. Thank god that's over.

Agreed. It was even worse when he would do it as a heel! Someone ever tell him that trying to pop the crowd while you're a heel isn't a good thing?

For some reason, I don't know that Road Dog could grasp that kind of high level thought...

I could be insane, but didn't he do the "tag team champions of the woooorrrllllllddddd" bit even when they weren't tag champs? Thinking back, it sounds ridiculous, but I don't know why my mind would make it up.

There is still all the Theodore Long phrases..whenever we are blessed enough to see him.

If they were smart they would try to get over some new catchphrases. Not only does it help push merchandise but it allows for crowd participation and more of a bond with the wrestlers.

As for Mark Henry wouldn't it be: "What you smell is my STANK...and right now, my STANK Is all over your litte girlfriend!" Throw that on a shirt with a closeup of his BAH GOD GRIZZLY BEAR like mug and you have a best seller ;)

I'm not sure if he did every time, but I know sometimes he would say "Soon to be..." insert the rest.

The times away from the tag team though, he ended up being in feuds for the Hardcore or IC belt, where he just inserted that title.

Austin3164Life: Lesnar shouldn't be included...he in a way has his own catchphrase:

The ever popular "Here Comes The Pain"

Isn't that more of a Tazz thing than Lesnar?

Last year, EVERYONE said it about Lesnar.

JR, Tazz, Steph...Lesnar himself.

It's his pseudo-catchphrase.

Good point. I don't remember when Lesnar himself said it, though. Damn, does my memory suck or what?

He said it when he and Angle were face to face backstage...either one or two Smackdowns before WrestleMania.

It's on the DVD>
