Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2004 (edited) Nope, but I'm not sitting here making asinine assumptions, either. Go ahead and research it, or shut the fuck up, mmkay? You're the one who brought the topic up in the first place. Prove it or continue being a joke. Your call! You're the one who brought the topic up in the first place. Prove it or continue being a joke. Your call! Wow, aren't you a bigger fucktard than usual? I think I'll go back to ignoring you. I don't need a drooling moron who can't grasp political science basics attempting to ruin my good mood by being an epic jackass. I know, my being a joke "threatens" your "spot" here, but such animosity is not needed. Toodles. -=Mike ...Although, would you please endorse Kerry? I want to see that Tyler magic work for John as it did for good ol' Howie. Man, did THAT campaign fizzle.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2004 BWAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHA!!! MIKE: No offense, but do you want to compare HIS accuracy in reporting against, say, the NY Times? Drudge never invented stories out of nothing. ME: Yes. MIKE: JAYSON BLAIR!!! ROFLSREFMSAO ME: One journalist vs. Drudge's many rumors. Care to give us numbers? MIKE: Can you prove otherwise? ME: The burden of proof is on you. MIKE: ......I'm gonna take my ball and go home. C'iao!

Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2004 God knows, international opinion is a HUGE deal for us. We lose sleep over the concern of the French/Italians/what have you not respecting us. It truly is the single most important issue in front of the U.S. And now you know how the French feel. YOU want to make extravagant claims, and then when someone asks you for some proof, you decide it's not worth wasting your time? Usually you put up a much better arguement than that, Mike. Dr. Tom 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2004 It'd be hard to prove, anyway. You'd have to verify thousands of stories with outside sources, and that's more research than anyone should put into something that's not a doctoral thesis. Personally, I think Jayson Blair trumps Drudge BECAUSE the Times is a longstanding print medium that's interested in preserving an honest reputation, while Drudge has the internet stigma working against him. Guest Cerebus Report post Posted February 13, 2004 Ok, let me see if I got this right. I make comment with no evidence or citation other than my own personal opinion/experirence. Someone asks me to prove it. I respond its not my job to back up my own statement but its the job of the other person to believe my statement UNLESS they can provide a citation to prove me otherwise. Gotcha.
tommytomlin 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2004 Don't you see? Mike is better at POLITICAL SCIENCE than Tyler, so he doesn't HAVE to explain his ridiculous theories. Doesn't 'the left' know ANYTHING?

snuffbox 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2004 It is pretty comical, Mike usually seems to put up a pretty good arguement...I think this one and its backlash just adds to the comedy I guess. It would be pretty dificult to prove which is the more reliable source - Drudge or the NY Times. Both have their positives, negatives, and histories. It was just pretty ridiculous of the poli sci guru to make such a grand claim then use 'prove it' for his own reasoning. Would have been much better off leaving it alone, arguing over two different news sources reliability is inherantly fultile and basically useless.
Vyce 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2004 Let's all meet in the middle - the rumor is that Time's going to go with the story next week. If Time does publish the story - and, I must assume, we can take it as face value as they SHOULD verify the story with their sources - then we can all point and laugh at Kerry for being a much, much, much lamer version of Clinton. I heard that, too, albeit it IS just a rumor. And if so, all the better. Kerry's horrible, and even if Dean doesn't win it, I'd prefer Edwards x100 over Kerry. bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Turns out the whole thing was false, and Drudge was wrong. SHE NEVER EVEN WORKED/INTERNED FOR THE KERRY CAMPAIGN! And what about the tabloid quotes from the parents? Ooh he's such a scumbag and all?? Geez, *some* people are getting desperate (memo: psst, it helps quite a bit if the scandal is actually true ) http://apnews.myway.com/article/20040216/D80OIHSO1.html

I mean, yes, it's obvious that the GOP wouldn't be asinine enough to leak damaging info about the Democratic front-runner in FEBRUARY --- when it would do them no good. Of course, if the press was CONSISTENT, this story would last for several more weeks. -=Mike

Firestarter 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 Drudge was wrong Only according to unsubstantiated claims made by Kerry.
