Lord of The Curry

So hot right now

Recommended Posts

Fuck it. What are YOU feeling right now? What's in heavy rotation?

- Limp Bizkits cover of Metallica's "Sanitarium" from the MTV Icon show. Fuck it. This song rocks. They mix in the turntable work in the right moments, the guitar is good and Durst seems farily motivated and plays to the crowd well. Good fucking song.

- "Song To The Siren" by This Mortal Coil. Oh..........that song's delicious. Haunting and beautiful and eerie. The original by Tim Buckley is good stuff too.

- " The Art of Balance" by Shadows Fall. This song makes me want to get into SF a lot more. Fucking R-O-C-K-S,

- "Nothing But a G Thang" Dr.Dre feat. Snoop Dogg. Now, I'm not a huge hip hop fan. Or a rap fan. Or an R&B fan. So my opinion probably means shit to most. But IMO, this is probably one of the best rap songs ever.

Spoon's "Mixaroonie XXXV -- Recognize."

Of course, this is probably in heavy rotation because I'm doing simul-listens with a lot of people. It's the latest and possibly greatest Mixaroonie, as the 35th had to be something special, and as a 71:13-long continuous Beatles mix, it's certainly special.

No Doubt's "It's My Life."

I love the guitar/synth sound thingie, whatever it is.

Lacuna Coil - "Comalies" : This band does Evanescence better than Evanescence could ever hope to do.

Christina Scabbia > Amy Lee (except for her last name, which makes me think of a nasty rash)

Y'know, whenever I see you post the name of an obscure band, I can't help but think to myself that you're just making the band & song names up.

Oh, they're very much real. That song's about 16 seconds long. The best title on the cd is either:

"The protocols of the elders of zion"

or "The twelfth day of sodom: when taking a shit feels sexy"

I gotta go with Kanye West "through the wire". I know that it's getting overplayed and I'll eventually get sick of it and there's probably already a backlash about, but damn, it's catchy, so let me enjoy it.

Aimee Mann's Bachelor No. 2. Yeah, shut up, I like that album a lot. I wish that I could sing the way that she does; I find it.. most pleasing. Or something. The music's not so bad, either.

I, too, am listening to Spoon's 35th Mixaroonie. I will call it the second greatest Mixaroonie, due to a lack of Reagan soundbytes.

"Last Dinosaur" by The Pillows. Used as the FLCL episode preview music, this song is very fun, upbeat sounding J-Rock.

"G.W.D." by Thee Michelle Gunn Elephant. The M2K theme from Toryumon. Total badass stuff, especially the scream at the beginning.

Neil Young

Nice...

I didnt know you were into Neil...

I saw him last Tuesday, on the Greendale tour with CrazyHorse. The man is an insanely good artist and you can just feel the passion that he brings to the stage or the studio. Incredible stuff for the past 30+ years.

Greendale was shit.

I prefer is 60's and 70's stuff to anything in the past 25 years...minus Harvest Moon which was a great single.

I've been getting into Cryptopsy lately. Lord Worm uber alles.

Wait until you get to the DiSalvo era, where Flo Mounier kicks it into yet another gear. Best drummer in metal, bar none.

Greendale was Neil's best since Rust Never Sleeps in '79. It is a hard-hitting look at American culture and our current state. And the live presentation is quite amazing.

And, obviously, 'Keep on Rockin in the Free World' is an iconic track. I would also say that Silver & Gold from '99 was only a few notches beloe Harvest, his finest work.

- " The Art of Balance" by Shadows Fall. This song makes me want to get into SF a lot more. Fucking R-O-C-K-S,

I've been pimping this band since TSM was still the SmarksBoard on EZBoard...and just NOW you want to get into them more?!

Mine:

Iron Maiden - "Hallowed Be Thy Name" (finally got off my ass and learned to play the main licks and the riff; simple stuff, really, as it's mostly the same four or five notes for the licks)

Macabre - "Jeffrey Dahmer And The Chocolate Factory"

Nevermore - "I Am The Dog"

Mushroomhead - "Never Let It Go"

Slayer - "Seasons In The Abyss" (I put "Skeletons Of Society" into this Visual Communications iMovie project I had to do while waiting for my turn with the camera again; went with the video VERY well, amazingly enough, despite the subject matter of the video being one of two couples confusing who is with who because of makeovers)

Another band I've grown to like is the Alkaline Trio. Really good punk rock.

Weren't you pimping AFI for the longest while?
