Guest JMA Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Ugh. I really regret asking these two threads to be merged. you fell for an April Fool's joke..you aren't the first and you won't be the last.. Yeah, I just hope things don't turn ugly later today.
Jack_Bauer Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 I was caught at 00.26. My mum phoned the house phone with her mobile phone, and then shouted on me telling me someone was on the phone. 26 minutes has to be SOME sort of record.
MrRant Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 I would have thought the time that he posted it would have clued you in because if it were true it would have been posted earlier. Of course posting an April Fools thread in a forum like this instead of GC is the sign of BBCW's intellect is below -iB-'s and certainly below Drury's. And he wonders why people think he is retarded.

Yeah, I just hope things don't turn ugly later today. Just suspend people for 2-3 days who don't do it in GC or HD. Problem solved.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 I don't have a problem with BBCW when he's not flaming me for no reason.
Guest Coffey Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 At first I thought it was a misleading title. Then I saw that it was "reported" that he was released. Then I saw the date. I've already went through all the emotions, and now I'm just pissed off that anyone would go out of their way, in this folder, to make a joke.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 I just found out that Storm wrestled on Raw this past Monday... Even though he jobbed for Rhyno, presuming that it wasn't a squash, what was his work like? Or was that what WWE were supposedly talking about regarding disappointment with his work?
Guest ManKinnd Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Yea, Storm *used* to be a good worker, and now, unmotivated and lazy, he goes through the usual every match. You can blame it on WWE for not pushing him, but the guys that want to get noticed go out there and shine not matter how much time is given to them. Look at London for example. Storm is a has-been. He has no charisma and his talent as a wrestler has been slipping rapidly for some time now.

And as for his now-lack of work ethic, I'll blame WWE for not pushing him, even if he has been working elsewhere.
Guest Trivia247 Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Ok is he released or is he not released?
Cran Da Maniac Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 This was an awesome joke. I really did fall for it there. Good Job
King Cucaracha Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Well, I fell for it. Teaches me for being too lazy to check sites. Oh well. 'ManKinnd'- Storm has no charisma? You obviously haven't seen any of his work outside of the WWE, where he has been entertaining. As for being a has-been...well...let's just say I'd disagree.
Nevermortal Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Finally...... is what'd I say if it were real.
Open the Muggy Gate Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Good joke. You had my ass fooled for a moment.
jester Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Good joke, but on the topic of Lance Storm: We talk about certain wrestlers being irrepairably damaged, Lance Storm has to be at the top of the list. Nevermind the merciless jobbing, no less than STEVE AUSTIN came out and told the audience to chanting "boring" at him. His WWE has probably gone as high as it will ever go.
Guest M. Harry Smilac Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 ...and, the most crucially of all, he wasn't the least vocal of people, and he has/had a column on the internet. That's probably the secret reason he got released. Then again, that's just a thought. Smark paranoia is funnier then anyone actually trying to be e-comedian funny MAYBE HHH WANTED TO USE THE HALFCRAB NOW?!?!yea lets blame the game!
2GOLD Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 The real sad thing is if the WWE were to see this and agree with the joke and release him. Then BBCW would be chased by a pack of rabid Storm fans. If they ran and had facial expressions of course. Good joke but I figured out it was a joke when I read the part that the WWE thought Val Venis would give him a boast. Val Venis? Please.
Repo Man jr Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Heh that was good, I totally bought that.
nl5xsk1 Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 I've already went through all the emotions, and now I'm just pissed off that anyone would go out of their way, in this folder, to make a joke. I like the way that you specify in this folder, Coffey ... like these kind of shenanigans are Ok in other folders, but this is the wwe one, dammit, and things have to be taken a little more seriously.
Guest wrestlingbs Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Oh, you a**hole... I bought it too.
Guest wildpegasus Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 Storm never had a great match in the WWE, or atleast one that I saw. If so, what match was it? They weren't by no means GREAT, but I did enjoy the SummerSlam 2002 tag match with him & Christian Vs. BookDust, also him & Venis against Dupree and Conway on December 1st last year. Edit: Forgot about the SummerSlam 01 match against Edge He also had a sweet match with Regal. And he did bring face HHH to his best match after his return from leg surgery on Smackdown.
Mecha Mummy Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 I bought it for all of five seconds before I checked the date.

Smark paranoia is funnier then anyone actually trying to be e-comedian funny MAYBE HHH WANTED TO USE THE HALFCRAB NOW?!?!yea lets blame the game! Hardly parranoia. It's not like Vince hasn't been out-spoken about his dislike of indipendent usage of the internet recently.

Well, look at some of the other forums though. Like Love, Sex & Dating or Hardcore Discussion. They ARE jokes.
Guest ManKinnd Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 'ManKinnd'- Storm has no charisma? You obviously haven't seen any of his work outside of the WWE, where he has been entertaining. As for being a has-been...well...let's just say I'd disagree. He used to be entertaining in the ring. He was like Benoit where he could get over just by wrestling well. The only problem was he wasn't near the worker Benoit was/is. He was good, but not good enough to just wrestle and be revered. I can't think of 5 ****+ Storm matches from his whole career. In ECW he quickly fell into contrived spots and quick sequences, you know, that all flash and no substance stuff. In WCW he had some decent matches but I wouldn't consider any of them "great." And as for around the world elsewhere I'll admit I haven't seen much of that, but if he had any mic work or the working boots of Kawada like some of you insinuate here, then he left them both in Japan.
King Cucaracha Posted April 1, 2004 Report Posted April 1, 2004 He's not all that bad on the mic. His voice sounds boring, but his gimmick has been to be boring since 2000. But he can cut a decent interview. Hell, he may not have had any ***** matches...it's not like it's a common thing though. He's a watchable wrestler...certainly from his ECW days. He got over quickly in WCW too, before they jobbed him out in Canada and stuck him with Hugh Morrus. I'm not saying Storm is necessarily the type of guy to build a company around, but he's probably more valuable than 75% of the current WWE roster right now.

It's not *****, but Booker vs. Storm for the title in WCW on Nitro is Denver was a fantastic match. And let's face it, Storm deserves a job more than John Heidenreich or plenty others.
