AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2004 There was this vignette about the history of Japan's involvement in WWII and General Hirohito and then it said that in 2004 Hirohito returns! It's for a new wrestler. Yup. It was the Japanese Emperor during WW2. Considering Japan is now a very wealthy uber-capitalist nation and a major trading partner with the U.S., I can't see where the hell this possibly can go. That is, except for an odd parody, like as if that Emperor were plucked from history, taken to the present, and it was played off as a Bill and Ted movie. All signs seem to point that it is Kenzo Suzuki, who by reports is mediocre at best and Nathan Jones level "bad" at worst. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Though, it would be better if they had made Hirohito an unfrozen Japanese superwarrior from WWII who they cryogenically froze after they surrendered after the two bombs were dropped in hopes that one-day they'd get their revenge on the US. However, in the current political climate, Japan and the US are allies so there is no use for Hirohito, so they unfroze him and tried to teach him peace. However, their original programming worked so well that he rebelled and saw the current political leaders in Japan as traitors and decided to become his own man - a ronin, if you will. Interesting that they're doing an angle with Orton/Edge. I thought they'd for sure do it with Orton/Benjamin. But come to think of it, they still might. Maybe the whole Edge/Orton thing was just to set up tonights match and foreshadow future feuds. Since it was Batista that Edge pinned, could we see a Batista/Edge feud? I loved the interview with Benoit, as long as it doesn't become a regular thing. And is Jericho going to be feuding with this new guy, Trish, and Christian? I'm happy they're actually giving Matt something to do, and are capitalizing on his face reactions. Molly going insane was funny. She was pretty bad ass. EDIT: Forgot to mention, I got to give the devil her due. Lita was acting pretty good today. She looked terrified, and it was about ten times better than her regular "acting". He's not a suckbag on the mic anymore (my opinion). The whole Kane thing was pretty stupid... I'm still waiting to see what they do with the Undertaker considering he's returned and made one appearance since WrestleMania. I guess he's still dwelling over the partial cheers for his new character or.... he's just growing his hair longer...... and maybe this time he'll wear his makeup or at LEAST dye his goatee black...... *** RAW IMO. I'd be really pissed off if I was in the crowd and they announced a match for two weeks instead of the night I paid to be there. Ah shit, I didn't realize that Mordecai = Fertig, bleh.. As has been said, Benoit and Edge getting the Tag belts is pretty ?? to me. I have always and will always hate thrown together SuperStar~! tag teams. Just seems pointless to even have a tag division if you do that. Watched RAW with a few marks last night, was rather enjoyable. They were really into Benoit, hated Eugene, bored with Cade, and were totally drawn in by Psycho Molly. I remember where he fought Eddie Guerrero at Summerslam 02' and Eddie was destroying Edge's shoulder. He even hits a frog splash on it.
