Guest Nanks Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 All these Simpsons threads of late have reminded me of this show from back in the day. Anybody else remember or enjoy this one?? I used to love this show. I'd totally buy a series on DVD if it was released. Or do I just remember it as funny because I was 8 or something??
LaParkaYourCar Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Is that the one where we see all the people living in that guy's head and each one represents parts of his personality? It was pretty funny from what I remember.
Guest JMA Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I loved this show. But there doesn't seem to be a station that plays the re-runs. A pity.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 It's not exactly an old show - I'd call it recent. It was one of the better sitcoms of the late 90s, and incurred some humerous Simpsons references (for obvious reasons).
kkktookmybabyaway Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Used to be on Sunday nights on FOX, right before Get a Life if memory serves. You had the Smart guy, the paranoid guy, the chick and that fat guy who I've seen in a bunch of go-nowhere shows but don't know his name. Also, there was Herman's co-workers: That blonde co-worker, the black guy and the chick who does Lisa Simpson's voice, who almost hooked up with Herman in one show. That's about all I remember...
BlackFlagg Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Also, there was Herman's co-workers: That blonde co-worker, the black guy and the chick who does Lisa Simpson's voice, who almost hooked up with Herman in one show. That's about all I remember... Don't foret Herman's chick crazy pal played by Hank Azaria Yeah, it was one of the many shows that ran in 8:30 and 9:30 slots during the Simpsons-Married with Children Sunday night era...so many shows came and went in those two slots over the years....from the attempted Get Smart remake with Andy Dick to the George Carlin show, season to season ya never knew what was gonna be in those spots, heh
WrestlingDeacon Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Late '90's? Short lived? You people have shot memories. It was on for four seasons from '91-'94 and there are 72 total episodes. Usually 100 is considered the bare minimum for primary second run syndication. You can check out the imdb to see what the cast is doing now. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101115/
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I'd be all over a Hermans Head DVD set........
starvenger Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Also, there was Herman's co-workers: That blonde co-worker, the black guy and the chick who does Lisa Simpson's voice, who almost hooked up with Herman in one show. That's about all I remember... The blonde was Hettie, who is now better known as Carol, Ross' lesbian ex-wife on Friends.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Don't foret Herman's chick crazy pal played by Hank Azaria Well, since I didn't mention him, I did forget. Let's also not forget this was also during the time of "Get a Life..."
Youth N Asia Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 4 seasons? Damn, I'd have guessed 2. I enjoyed the show, but I haven't seen any of it since the original airing. So I don't know if it would still hold up today.
Guest Dids Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 I really liked Herman's Head, but then I have a problem with bad Sitcoms. Sitcoms I've liked that didn't last: Union Square Chicago Sons It's Like, You Know Andy Richter Controls the Universe There's more- but work calls.
Ripper Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Don't foret Herman's chick crazy pal played by Hank Azaria Well, since I didn't mention him, I did forget. Let's also not forget this was also during the time of "Get a Life..." Shit, I had no idea that Get a Life was available on DVD. I am buying that shit. Nothing beats the show when he goes to new york, gets slipped a mickey, and thinks someone stole his wallet and the city gets behind him as Wallet boy or something like that till they find out it was just in his other pocket. Good times. Christ Elliot falling on his ass in the opening credits is funnier than most shit has been on television for years.
AndrewTS Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 X-Entertainment has a couple episode reviews of Get A Life, BTW.

Sitcoms I've liked that didn't last: Andy Richter Controls the Universe There's more- but work calls. But Fox is bringing back Andy Richter for a new sitcom! What a great move by Fox. But you what would be better: If they fucking left Andy Richter Controls the Universe on in the first place.

Hey, remember when Paget Brewster was a hot commodity?
razazteca Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Was the guy who played Herman the same person who was in the Weird Science movie as Wyatt?

Great stuff from Elliott. -=Mike ..."Just checking, Gladys: Is it medically possible to die of embarrassment?"
Zack Malibu Posted April 22, 2004 Report Posted April 22, 2004 Was the guy who played Herman the same person who was in the Weird Science movie as Wyatt? No, Herman was William Ragsdale from Fright Night 1&2, as well as Mannequin 2: On The Move.

Let's also not forget this was also during the time of "Get a Life..." My all-time favourite line from "Get A Life" goes a little something like this: "Signal me by standing on your head singing "Mr. Bojangles." "I Can't, that's my signal for the mailman."
