LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 I just got done watching Memento and I loved it. It was the first time I ever saw it. Thinking about it, I've seen hundreds and hundreds of movies, but there are some big titles I have just never seen. I can tell people stuff about all sorts of movies, but certain "classics" I have never seen. In this week alone, I watched Die Hard, Memento and Se7en all for the first time. I still have on my shelf unwatched movies like Gladiator and Crouching Tiger among others. I've seen tons of movies though (so maybe I just naturally lean toward crappy ones...) but I think there is at least one for everyone. Some big or really popular movie that people are surprised you have never seen. Anyone else care to share?
Guest Vitamin X Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 I still have yet to see Se7en, but I can tell you Crouching Tiger I highly recommend and Gladiator has a great beginning and end, but a midsection that kind of drags.
BlackFlagg Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 haven't seen Crouching Tiger either...hmm, not sure what else, I'm falling asleep now so maybe I'll think of more later.
Ted the Poster Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 I just saw Natural Born Killers for the first time. I really liked the movie, but I sincerely hope that I never watch it while high. That could severely fuck with your mind.
Garth Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Only saw Return of the King last week, been waiting for it to come out on DVD as i missed out on seeing it at the cinema.
godthedog Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Do what now? it's like the white album, it will make you kill people. seriously. i remember a news story about a group of fucked up teenagers who decided to watch it on drugs, and then they killed people. and every time i quote you in the future, your quote will be changed to "Do what now?" because i think it's funny. i've still never seen 'godzilla'.
Guest Fook Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 I haven't seen Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, or Deer Hunter. I don't know DeNiro very well.
Guest OctoberBlood Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 I haven't seen X2, or Mystic River yet.
Lil' Bitch Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Passion of The Christ and Return of The King for me for now.
Brush with Greatness Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Titanic, Armageddon and Pearl Harbour. Don't plan on seeing them either.
HarleyQuinn Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Haven't seen Mystic River yet(Been trying to catch all the "big movies" whenever possible.) Movies I've seen with-in the past week -Deliverance(Rented) -Citizen Kane(Rented w/Deliverance) -Rain Man
Kahran Ramsus Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 As much as it shames me to admit it, I've never seen the original Nosferatu. I haven't seen many of the old Universal monster flicks either. Only Dracula, Frankenstein and the Mummy remake starring Christopher Lee.
godthedog Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 don't be ashamed. i haven't seen any of those.
Ted the Poster Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 You don't need a machine to make a rainbow... Then I get to quote you like so. Yesterday I saw both Matrix sequels and now I can confidently say that the first movie was fine, but those two abortions called sequels had no right to suck like they did. I also watched The Hills Have Eyes late last night. First horror movie to give me nightmares since Carrie. I forgot to mention Silence of the Lambs in the earlier post, but I saw it a few weeks ago and it was amazing.
TheDevilAndGodAreRagingInsideMe Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 I've never seen Pulp Fiction
eiker_ir Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 i haven't seen Fellowship of the Ring and Return of The King. I'm just not into fantasy and stuff
Zack Malibu Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Neither am I, eiker, so I can feel you on that one. I currently own quite a few movies that I'm yet to watch: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Pirates of the Carribean, The Rundown and Out Of Time are all sitting there, unwatched. I've also yet to see T3, but since it's down to $9.99 this week at Circuit City, I'm thinking of picking it up.
LaParkaYourCar Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 I haven't seen (but want to see): Kill Bill 1 & 2 Enter the Dragon Memento Raging Bull Taxi Driver Eternal Sunshine That's all I can think of off the top of my head. EDIT: Zack do you buy movies you've never seen often?
Toshiaki Koala Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 I actually haven't seen Citizen Kane or Lawrence of Arabia (although they're both on my list).
Insane Bump Machine Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 My problem are the big mafia movies. Haven't seen The Godfathers, Casino and have never seen Goodfellas complete. But I'll get to it. Watched High Noon this weekend, finally. Great film.
DCMaximo Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 I've never seen the 1st or 3rd Lord Of The Rings films, nor do I ever intend to. The same is true of all the Harry Potter films. Films I haven't seen, but WOULD like to are: The Empire Strikes Back Return Of The Jedi Lost In Translation Citizen Kane Taxi Driver Apocalypse Now
LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted May 31, 2004 Author Report Posted May 31, 2004 EDIT: Zack do you buy movies you've never seen often? I'm not Zach, but I do the same. I actually looked last night and I own 80 DVDs I have never even seen, not counting any of the VHS I haven't watched either. I do it personally because I may find a really good bargain or hear something good and pick it up and never get around to it. I would guess it would be similar.
Zack Malibu Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 I've got TONS of movies I've never seen. If I like the looks of it, or heard something about it that would make me buy it (it doesn't necessarily have to be "good", since I have a love for bad movies) then I'll get it. Then there's also the case of me buying things I have seen, only to never watch them once I get them. I've seen Se7en numerous times, but my DVD copy is still in the wrapping, with the Best Buy price tag on it and everything. The funny thing about that? I bought it the day after Christmas, 2001. My DVD collection is growing rapidly (currently over 330, there are some that aren't listed on DVDAficionado but those are mostly just my few indy wrestling DVD's) and my VHS movie collection is in the thousands, so I've got quite a bit of watching to do before I kick the bucket someday.
Vyce Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 I have to urge everyone to watch Natural Born Killers while drunk or high, because I only watched it once, stone cold sober, and I found the film to quite thoroughly suck huge giant portions of donkey dick. It sucked. Pure and simple. Outside of Tom Sizemore, who's always good, the movie was a 2+ hour waste of my time. But hey - maybe it's something worthwhile once you're, you know, a bit in your cups.

Rob a bank or something? My god.

The same is true of all the Harry Potter films. oh yeah, i've never seen any of the Harry Potter movies either, same reason as with the LOTR ones, it's just not my thing. Altough the trailers for the new one look kinda good. I don't intend to watch any of these movies ever too, sure probably in like ten years on TV when i'm bored, but that's it. i hate that whenever i say that i dont like the LOTR movies everyone looks at me like i'm some weird freak of nature or something.
Vyce Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 i hate that whenever i say that i dont like the LOTR movies everyone looks at me like i'm some weird freak of nature or something. Because you kind of are.
2GOLD Posted June 1, 2004 Report Posted June 1, 2004 Just finally saw ROTK and it may have been the most boring film with the most laughable special effects I have seen in a long time. Those blue screen shots were just pathetic looking and the film really needed some better editing. The fights were ok but Orlando Bloom looked like he was just waiting for the check to clear. That may have been the worse winner of Best Picture I have ever seen in my life. I've yet to see Lost in Translation but I hear its outstanding.

Rob a bank or something? My god. I've been collecting movies since I was a kid, and taping wrestling/TV shows just as long. It's everything I've accumulated over the years. Also, come holiday/birthday time, pretty much everyone knows the money is going towards movies, so I get gift cards, etc. towards Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. It also helped that I've had a full time job since I was 13 (I'm 23 now).
