Guest Dumb Fuck Report post Posted July 16, 2004 9.4 rating on X-Box 9.3 rating on PS2. Most likely because the PS2 requires a hard drive to see motion clips during halftime, and the graphics are a bit worse.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2004 "On the Xbox, you're able to further tailor your aural experience. Not only does the jukebox in the Crib allow you to give your game a homemade soundtrack (primarily on menus), but now you can trim your favorite clips of music and have them play back through the stadium speakers. Grab a sample of your favorite song, set the situation you'd like it to play (after a sack, following a touchdown), then sit back and enjoy!" Coolest thing ever. KingPK 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2004 Kind of makes me want to get an X-Box. But my brother has one, and he'll most likely pick this up, so I'll just play it at his place. PS2 has fewer bells & whistles (or you need to spend another $100 to utilize them), but I just want a solid game.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted July 16, 2004 Yeah, I'm wishing I had an Xbox just for all the neat extra features. But I'll happily pick up the PS2 version and then put off all of my work to repeatedly sack Kurt Warner.

Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted July 16, 2004 I've fought the Madden love for awhile, but I'll be getting this game instead. Its a cheap $29 Canadian dollars, with a possibility of finding it even cheaper on sale, its an easy decision. Unfortunately I'll be getting it on PS2, I'll survive without the extra bells and whistles.
Guest Dumb Fuck Report post Posted July 16, 2004 The only thing the PS2 version lacks is the music thing that Brian said, full motion clips with Berman doing highlights (which you can do if you use a hard drive), and a slight decline in graphics. If you want music so badly, just listen to it outside of the game.
Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2004 Okay, the guy at GameStop told me they were the ONLY ones getting this game in...I know he's bullshitting me...he's GOTTA be bullshitting me...right? I mean he was the store manager, so I was like "oh.....really?"...hopefully a fucking store manager wouldn't lie to me, but I know how business people are... Guest Flyboy Report post Posted July 17, 2004 They are probably the only ones getting the game in on WEDNESDAY. It might be Friday or so when Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. get the game but I highly doubt your GameStop will be the only ones getting the game. EDIT: You guys should check out the latest Friday Football at http://www.espnvideogames.com -- it details online features and it looks greatly Just fucking great. KingPK 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2004 If your assistant tells you that certain players need work, you can train them in a multitude of different ways like having them go through films, weight training, aerobic training, or even alternate methodology like taking ballet, or even acupuncture. While training can help improve player performance, over working players can tire or injure your players before they even hit the field, and even decrease player and team moral. The Weekly preparation mode is extremely deep, and while most of the laymen gamers will barely touch this mode, checking out your team weaknesses is a good idea. Plus when the Packers lost to Detroit during my season, I wasn’t too happy with my team, so it was acupuncture for all, and Brett Favre was sent to ballet…twice. That’ll teach ‘em. Guess I know where Brady's going if he tosses more than 2 picks in a game. Really, this damn thing is going to ROCK! Anyone know how much PS2 memory card space the saves will take up? MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2004 I just saw the commercial for ESPN and I was surprised that they didn't really make more of the $19.99 price. They just flashed the $19.99 up at the end of the commercial for like 3 seconds.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2004 Not that many of you are going to be angry over spending $4 more for $20 game, but ESPN will be $15.88 at Target starting Sunday. F#ck SEGA one more time for good measure just because.

Scroby 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2004 Yup the store i worked at got about 15 calls for this game today. I hate how vendors are now giving out the shipping date instead of the in-store date. It confuses so many people its not even funny. But yeah it should be in-stores tomorrow, its gonna sell like hot cakes, HOT CAKES I TELL YOU!
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2004 I'm a total Madden loyalist and already have my copy of the Collector's Edition reserved, but I think I'll definitely have to give ESPN a rent. If I like it, I'll buy the motherfucker.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2004 F#ck SEGA one more time for good measure just because. Not their fault that the GC's sale rate for their games were lackluster. Well, even though I bought both NBA and NFL 2k3, I can say that they were clearly rushed out, and the ESPN stuff was just slapped on at the last minute. Clearly thats their fault (or whoever is ultimately responsible for the game). SEGA based their decision to abandon the Gamecube sports titles after dispointing sales of a rushed out game that was probably inferior to Madden/Live 2003 (and I have Madden 2002 and its better than NFL 2k3..). Plus, 2k3 was the only year released on the Gamecube, which means that they didn't even come back for a second year to see if they could get more people to buy 2k4. EA managed to sell 100,000 copies of Madden 2004 on the Gamecube (significantly less than on the PS2 and X Box, but well ahead of the less than 20,000 that 2k3 Sold on the Gamecube the year before). The demographics of Gamecube owners suggest that there aren't a lot of people who buy sports titles, but if they were to put out their $20 games on the Gamecube I know for almost a fact that they would outsell EA on the Gamecube in one of the 4 sports, something they'll never do on the other 2 consoles. I doubt EA really cares about the sales of their Gamecube sports titles right now, since they know that they are the only ones putting out sports games for it, but if SEGA were to outsell them on the Gamecube, it might send more of a message to EA. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2004 honestly, I can care less about the soundtrack feature. That is one of those things you spend time setting up, and halfway through the game you forget about it anyway. The game looks really solid. I can't wait until tomorrow.
