Aero 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2004 After watching the TLC match, I'm disappointed that all the weapons break/disappear after a certain number of shots. I assume that ladders don't break in TLC matches, and tables breaking after a number of shots is understandable, but I wish the chairs stayed around instead of magically disappearing. Aero 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2004 IGN has the Play of the Day up: a 10-Minute Ultimate Submission Match between Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit. It ends in a draw. I didn't watch the entire video, but I hope this time around, you're actually allowed outside the ring for matches like these, or at least able to change the ringout rule. I never understood why some matches in HCTP were like that.

AND because it wasn't clear if you could be DQ'd for a Weapon shot or not in an Ultimate Submission match.

So it's good that they don't let you do things in the match that were actually done in that match or similar matches? The opponent could always actually chase his opponent outside of the ring, and the game could leave the DQ question as an option.

AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2004 Can an Ironman match last sixty minutes yet? I thought they could, or was that an accelerated 60, kinda like the timer in Fire Pro?
Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2004 No. That's the simple answer. I remember reading a report somewhere about Iron man was unchanged and that sucks because they were hoping for a 60 min match. So no I suppose.. But they might still add it in, but doubt it. Maybe that was just the beta though...but still dont count on 60 min match being in..

I don't think either man actually left the ring in the Ultimate Submission match, Andrew. I know that in a match with no count outs, and with friends who are assholes, you could easily ruin an Ultimate Submission match. Plus "chasing outside the ring" isn't going to help, you can blow a LOT of time doing that. Sometimes you have to make adjustments for the world of video games. Bottom line is, they were right. DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2004 I don't think either man actually left the ring in the Ultimate Submission match, Andrew. I believe Benoit had Angle tap out on the floor, causing some announcer controversy about whether or not a tap-out in a match with no other rules should count if it's not in the ring. Or JR just kept yelling that it didn't count and King agreed since he would have been cheering for Angle, I don't recall totally, but they were outside. Going outside the ring to waste time happens a lot in Iron Man matches, which are very similar. The option should be there to do it that way if you want, though. If not, you should be able to set up a 30 minute, submission-only Iron Man match which would allow you to basically have the same match. I think you can go outside the ring in those. Plus, since heels can get boosts to their heel meter for cheap tactics, the option should be available to do that in an U.S.M., since that's the sort of thing a heel wrestler should be doing. However, it probably should work against a face wrestler. Since it would give a heel wrestler a boost, it would encourage them to be more aggressive once they've been avoiding the other wrestler briefly. Although if used excessively, it should backfire. DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2004 You mean Heyman. The King didn't call any matches at Backlash 2001. Making a stupid mistake while trying to correct a mistake someone else made.. I hate that. I really should have known that, since Heyman/JR are my favourite modern day broadcasting duo, but it slipped my mind.

Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2004 Hasn't every Smackdown had the release date change(delayed) at least twice? Not really...it's just that most people never know, but they still always seem to answer the question of when it will come out...and usually say something 'around' what they've hurt. So by the time the release date gets 'into the mainstream' so to speak...there's like 5 different dates. This one, from what I've seen most should be out November 2. But of course that could be wrong.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2004 Hasn't every Smackdown had the release date change(delayed) at least twice? I think every WWE game since Attitude has been delayed at least once. Well, maybe the X-Box Raw games came out on time, but those don't count.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted August 29, 2004 I think every WWE game since Attitude has been delayed at least once. Well, maybe the X-Box Raw games came out on time, but those don't count. I got the hint that the developers just wanted that game out on the market and forgotten about as quickly as possible. The last Smackdown was not delayed, it actually arrived right on time, I do believe.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2004 The first PS2 SD! game was delayed 2-3 times, but for short periods (I believe they said October and it eventually came out in late November). I believe Shut Your Mouth had a similar 2 week delay. HCTP, as far as I can remember, was pretty much on time. It may have had an announced date that got pushed back a week or so (well in advance), but I don't remember any upsetting delay over that game.
