Ya know...technically, Mankind was a retard: A retard who could be violent and kick ass, just like Eugene.

No, Mankind was insane, not a retard.

Hm. He nakes a good ppoint, though. WWE pushed the gimmick of an insane person, which is a mental deficiency, but they can't push a retard?

That smells of double standard to me.

The real point is......... anybody on RAW would make a better world champion that Benoit (yes I'm totally discriminative, because I hate Benoit). Mae Young would make a better world champion, Mark Henry (uggh, it hurts me to say that), Eugene, TEDDY F'N LONG would make better world champions than Benoit.

Sincerely,

KJ

I know Benoit is a stick in the mud on the mic but so was Lesnar, Yokozuna, Taker and Bret.

What was wrong with Benoit's mic work? The segment with Orton was good, and the pre-match one was too short to be bad.

And to whoever asked if Randy wins the belt, will he be overshadowed: Yes, he will. For some reason, Vince thinks Triple H is his bread and butter, and nothing changes that. Although it'll be nice to have two reigns in a row without Triple H.

Both relatively short and Orton carried the majority of the first.

Remember back to Benoit's debut on Raw and the show the week after? He came out the first night and looked totally out of place in the ring with HBK, HHH and Austin...charisma wise. And then he bored everyone to tears on the Highlight Reel the next week when he was required to carry the interview. And again, he was over-shadowed charisma wise by Jericho. Credit where credit's due of course...he learnt his lines very well that night. ;)

Fact is, Benoit's not a bad mic worker. But he's not the type of guy you'd want trying to hype the second biggest PPV of the year. And he's not the type of guy to carry a company on it's back. Magnificent worker, mediocre on the stick and lacks charisma to make fans care about what's happening to him.

Well...besides the backstage 'conspiracies' of course.

The Undertaker and Bret Hart were not bad in the least on the mic. Lesnar was even starting to improve his mic skills before he left. All Yokozuna did was scream "Banzai!" so he doesn't really count. The people with the REALLY bad mic skills would be wrestlers like the Ultimate Warrior and Sid.

Sid wanting a second take at a LIVE promo gets the gold.

Warrior was just CRAZY.

Bret wasn't bad, but he was dull, and wasn't very charismatic.

Bret knew how to take his passion for the business and implant it into storylines though. The Hart Family reunion speech was top notch and he was able to make the 'whining Bret' gimmick work before then too. Given the right material, he wasn't dull.

Of course, without it, it was the same 'Best There Is' speech every night, which drags him down in most people's eyes.

I really doubt Orton is winning at SummerSlam. Everyone seems "convinced" he is...but seriously, he isn't ready, and Benoit has no reason to lose. Benoit is not jobbing to HHH's underling, with 2 weeks of buildup. get over it.

I don't think he was dull. It's just that his character at the time time was such an old-school babyface. And I would say Bret was one of the BEST old-school babyfaces that I've ever seen.

Before his mega babyface push, he cut some very good promos while in the Hart Foundation. Many of those promos are overlooked now. I think the fact that he has so many fans today is proof that he was a charismatic guy. I'm not saying he had charisma like a Shawn Michaels or Randy Savage, but he had above average charisma, IMO.

It'd be helpful, and far less annoying if you said why, rather than just being a bit of a tit. Dark Age, PM a mod in future instead of flaming.

I don't know how anyone can complain about Benoit's push after Backlash. I mean, he got lost in the shuffle a bit before Mania, but everyone's been tapping out to him and Benoit's been getting pretty damn over.

I'd like to see him get a more or two more with the belt to see what could happen with him, because he's getting the reactions of a long-term main eventer at this point. He's never going to be Hogan or Rock or Austin, but he's getting reactions similar to Bret at this point.

This is what I have concluded with last night's raw. Orton winning just doesn't seem plausible how it's been done. Of course, this could be by design and "shock" us with a win.

I wouldn't have thought Eddie losing every big match to JBL would be plausible, yet here we are.

The problem with Chris Benoit is that he is probably one of the most UNINTERESTING World Champions of all time.

Exactly. The WWE is doing the right thing by not making him the focus of their TV. He has no charisma. His promos are horrible.

Taker had a gimmick. Yoko had a gimmick. Lesnar became solid on the mic toward the end and had a great look to him. Bret was far better on the mic than Benoit was.

Orton will get _much_ more focus than Benoit as-champion. Hell, Foley/Orton had more focus than Benoit-on-RAW post RR. Orton is both a project of HHH and a 3rd generational wrestler (McMahon -being a 3rd generational promoter- loves the idea of dynasties... unless you're Mexican), and has been pushed pretty hard for the past year even if the crowd didn't start responding to him 8 months after it started (This is a half-thought statement, I'm not an Orton Hater, but the general point is "the WWE has pushed him even if he wasn't successful early-on. They didn't half-ass his push." So save the "He got a response at..." and "it wasn't 8 months" cause you missed my point. God, it has come to this where I have to actively stop retarded responses by explaining my fucking thought process. Goddamn.)

HHH was affiliated with him too ("Who hit Austin") and completely stole his heat (whatever he had) out of that

Ball. As was pointed out, he had no heat. Besides I was talking about his early 2000 run which fizzled out faster than a can of Jolt.

September 22, 1997: On the day of the Raw taping at Madison Square Garden, McMahon told Bret Hart flat out that they were going to intentionally breach his contract because they couldn’t afford the deal. He told a shocked Hart that he should go to World Championship Wrestling and make whatever deal he could with that group."

And you said something about irrelevant earlier? Ball.

God, it has come to this where I have to actively stop retarded responses by explaining my fucking thought process. Goddamn

How would you be stopping retarded responses? Unless you're talking about your own. In that case, since you can't hit the plate just give me ball four and save yourself.
